Race 1
(4) MY DELIGHT gets to take a drop after bumping into tough foes like Albergo Hanover and Tivo Hanover at the NW6 level. Third start back off the shelf tonight and switches to Callahan. (10) DEMOCRACY N took the lead heading to three-quarters but couldn't hold on last week. I imagine he will try to blast off from post ten again. (3) CENTURY CHURCHILL also gets some class relief tonight, putting him in play.
Race 2
(3) WESTERN JOE landed in a difficult spot for his return in the Commodore Barry at Harrah's Philly and drew a bad post to boot. Finds a much softer spot here and should out-class these. (1) LUCIANO N worked his way up to the Preferred level over at Yonkers and gives the Meadowlands a try with that track on break. (4) NOCTURNAL BLUE CHIP is winless this year but does love to hit the board and has been performing well across the river in Westchester as well.
Race 3
(1) PERSEVERANT hasn't been finishing off his miles the best lately, but he has been racing at this class for a while unlike many who are stepping up tonight. If he can get back to what he was doing in late April or early May, that's good enough to win. (4) EVERY WAY OUT battled back to win last week in a game effort and now hikes up the class ladder (5) GOOD DAY MATE has also been hanging around at this level for awhile with mixed results. Last race was decent.
Race 4
(10) KIWI IDEAL N tried the Preferred over at Freehold last time and now returns to the Meadowlands where he has won two straight. Great first-over effort back on 5-11. (6) FIRST CLASS HORSE has been racing at Harrah's Philly and Yonkers, with a couple recent second-place finishes that appear to fit well here. (5) TWIN B SPEEDO finished with some interest up the pylons last week at this level and draws a better post tonight.
Race 5
(2) SMILEANDSAYCHEESE drops to the bottom level tonight after a solid rally against better last time out. (1) ITS JUST TOO MUCH was picking up checks against a higher level when last seen here at the Meadowlands earlier this month, also gets class relief tonight. (4) VICTORYDAZE WILWIN usually does his best work against this group and gets a better post to work with tonight.
Race 6
(3) BARIMAH A closed well last Saturday for a third against NW9000L5s and now gets to drop to NW6000L5. Draws a much better post as well, moving from the eight to the three. (10) ARQUE HANOVER drops but also moves to the outside. Has shown enough speed to get spotted like on 5-18 when he left and tucked from post eight, so hopefully he can do the same. (8) JK WILDFIRE loomed but flattened out in the lane a week ago. Shows no early speed, so I have to think he'll be on cover and closing.
Race 7
(8) DAYLIGHT RUSH picked up a second and a third at the Meadowlands earlier this month and now makes his return. Kept Callahan over another one in the race, and I'll use him on top. (6) STONEDUST usually finds this level a bit too tough but he does have speed to get another good trip. (2) MCRAVEN has been in some tough spots out of town and heads back to the Meadowlands tonight where he shows a win on the page.
Race 8
(6) SHNTIZLEDOSOMETHIN put in a speed-and-fade effort last Saturday night in his comeback and should be much tighter and ready to perform well tonight. (7) SEEING EYE SINGLE returns to the 4-year-old Preferred level after a solid third in a quick mile in an overnight race last week. Switches to Brennan tonight, who is here with Yonkers closed. (2) ALBERGO HANOVER gets the acid test for class tonight after his back-to-back easy wins.
Race 9
(3) MACH DORO A crushed in back-to-back races at Plainridge and now gives the Meadowlands a try. Connections thought enough of him to try the Levy Series at Yonkers earlier this year, and he did pick up a second in one leg against those types. (4) ANOTHER DAILY COPY is the in-form horse, having won three straight. Takes another jump up the class ladder, but that hasn't been an issue so far. (9) MCTHRILLER won easily last Saturday night and also hikes up tonight.
Race 10
(6) DEALT A WINNER has way too much back-class for these and should win at a short price. (1) ANTHEM N brings his sharp form from Yonkers over to the Meadowlands tonight but bumps up against a serious foe in my top pick. Should be a good test for him, though. (3) K RYAN BLUECHIP looks to be in another spot where he can close late and pick up a piece of it.
Race 11
(4) WINDSONG JACK ended up with an impossible trip last time, parked the route. Gets Callahan in the bike tonight and an improved post on the drop. (1) GRIFFON HANOVER found deep water in his last few over at Yonkers but finds a sensible spot for his Meadowlands return tonight and should be a major threat. (10) NEW TALENT continues his retreat down the class ladder but draws post ten. Stratton needs to find him a trip.
Race 12
(1) SKIBBEREEN wound up with a tough post and a bad trip last Saturday night. Should have every chance to work out a smoother journey now that he gets to move inside. (2) SPEAR POINT raced in that same event as my top pick and was a good third, continuing his run of solid results. (4) BLACK HAMMER showed a bit of late interest two weeks ago and should be closer to the action from post four rather than post seven.
Race 13
(8) OHIO LARRY crushed these last Saturday and has two back-to-back strong races since dropping to this level. (3) TITUS SEELSTER was racing against better claimers when last seen at the Meadowlands last month and drops to the bottom tonight. (6) DAYLYN HORIZON got caught in a clogged outer flow last time and lost all chance.
