Race 1
(1) AMERICAN ISLAND comes off a solid effort and picks up David Miller this week. Barn is still winless but has been heating up lately. (2) WILD AGAIN & (4) SENATOR CHARLIE are coming out of the same claiming race to take a shot at the bottom level condition. Both could awaken in this spot.
Race 2
(5) B L CLASS ACT picked up some confidence at Saratoga last week and is more than capable of riding that good form against a questionable field. (3) POSSESSED FASHION would be the obvious horse to beat if right, but a month on the bench followed by a scratched-injured line isn’t very enticing, though the trainer reports that he simply banged his shoulder on the trailer ride to the track. (4) WINEMASTER HANOVER drops down but hasn’t been as sharp as he was earlier in the year. (8) FREEDOMBIRD seems like a reasonable longshot player off a steady mile last week.
Race 3
(2) CHEROKEE RANGER dropped and popped for a barn that sent out a couple of winners last weekend. He remains in for a $7,500 claiming tag and should prove tough again. (1) DAYLYN HANOVER drops down to the level of his last win and should be hustled away from the inside post. (8) U F FAST FEELIN has been racing well but is hindered by the outside draw.
Race 4
(6) MR BIG LOAD drops back down and should be winning it on the engine. (3) WAYWARD SON dropped time in his second start back from a layoff and could take another step forward now. (1) ALEX BULLVILLE comes off a good mile but changes hands.
Race 5
(3) BROCKS FORTUNE has returned from winter break in fine form and seems sharp enough to handle the switch from Freehold to The Meadowlands. (5) ROOSTER RABBIT has been racing better of late and doesn’t find much to beat in here. (8) MAJOR WAR should be a factor in here but has underperformed lately. (1) VICTORYDAZE WILWIN gets an improved post and should be forwardly placed.
Race 6
(4) BARIMAH A was spectacular in his debut for new trainer Scott DiDomenico and shouldn’t miss a beat with David Miller in the bike. (1A) MORE DRAGON put together a solid qualifying win and certainly fits well in this class. (5) JACKSRLUCKYTOO will be at the mercy of the pace. If the two to his outside leave, he should have a fighting chance. (3) MILLENIUM WHEEL has speed and form; good combo.
Race 7
(5) SPECIAL T ROCKS has come to life since arriving here and really can’t be faulted for losing to an ultra-sharp Barimah last time. He gets the narrow call in what looks like a competitive race on paper. (1) SOMESIZESOMESTYLE has put in a couple of nice efforts while settling for second and third. A clean trip could result in a win. (4) PREPARTY had a bit of bad post luck and produced poor results in two starts at Yonkers. Now he is back at The Meadowlands where he finished second in this class three starts back. (3) RODEO ROMEO hasn’t been racing badly of late and may just need to find the right driver to get the most out of him.
Race 8
(7) ART HISTORY takes a meaningful drop in class and is supposed to flex his muscles in this spot. (2) K RYAN BLUECHIP looked as good as I’ve seen him in the qualifier last week. (3) ASTOR popped off a 1:53 2/5 mile at Freehold last week; that’s impressive. (5) ALEXIE MATTOSIE & (4) ODDS ON EQUULEUS have plenty of back class to call upon.
Race 9
(8) BETTING EXCHANGE came up just short but should be plenty tight after a tough qualifier last Friday. Despite the four month layoff, he should be able to handle this group. (3) DONAU & (5) ROGER MACH EM are stepping up off wins and seem like the other obvious contenders.
Race 10
(7) UNIX HANOVER wired similar last week and should be headed down the road again. (6) WEGOTTATRUCKYEA got stuck along the cones and finished nicely when clear a week ago. (4) SILVER BULLET is going to pop at a price sooner or later.
Race 11
(1A) MAJOR KEY & (1) LIMA SPARTAN form a strong Ron Burke trained entry and one of them should take home top honors while the other should hit the board. (2) L DEES LUCA picks up Campbell in his second start off the bench; main danger. (3) PARK IT PARK IT was a solid second last time. (4) SOMKINDA HANOVER has been dealt a string of outside posts on half-mile tracks lately.
