BEST BETS: 2 - 7 / $5.00 (-$9.00)
Race 1
(2) NO DRAMA PLEASE stopped after setting slow fractions last time. Don’t hold that against him. Trixton colt is very capable of firing down the road. (4) REIGN OF HONOR has turned things around with hobbles added and could be ready to go on a streak. (3) HUDSON RIVER could be the favorite coming out of the Breeders Crown and getting Brian Sears. For my money, he’s not any faster than the competition.
Race 2
(1) WINDSONG JACK rolled down the road in his second start for the Burke barn and should be taking pictures after this race as well. (5) NOBLES FINESSE should be able to gain good early position and might just be tighter in his second start since August. (3) LONE WOLF TERROR finally got things straightened out in his third start for this barn; threat on best. (6) JOE’S BID could surprise with the post relief this time.
Race 3
(3) SPECIAL HONOR has been racing well versus the best in this division. Father Patrick filly might have a tactical edge here with her early speed. (4) PRINCESS DEO showed some of her talent with a fast-closing effort last week. (1) TAYLOR SWIFTLY took care of business at Plainridge; this spot is much tougher. (5) EVIDENT BEAUTY was on a roll in Kentucky but hasn’t raced in more than four weeks.
Race 4
(4) MAJOR STARLIGHT was racing well before running into tougher foes last week. This field came up very soft and he should have a big chance. (1) NO TEARS BLUE CHIP doesn’t have much in the way of strong PP lines, but neither does the competition; driver change alert. (2) INTHEBLINKOFANEYE comes off a decent effort after a month off. He used to be a Big M lover with 9 wins in 21 starts here way back in 2016. (11) IDEAL CANDIDATE can save ground here and get into the exotics.
Race 5
(1) JACKSRLUCKYTOO showed signs of life last week and might be ready to fire. (6) OCEAN COLONY was second in this class most recently. He may be controlling the action here. (3) ROCKN MOTION faces older as he ships into town from Indiana. He does seem fast enough.
Race 6
(3) GOTAROCKINMYPOCKET has raced evenly since shipping east and now tries his luck on the big track. This field is sketchy to say the least and I wouldn’t be shocked if he stepped up. (6) TERROR OF THE NITE drops down and might still offer a bit of value. (7) MACH DÉJÀ VU picks up Gingras this week.
Race 7
(3) BETTOR’S EDGE should be ready to go now in his second start back from a break. Classy multi-millionaire can take these to task. (1) AWESOMENESS sat the pocket behind a slow pace and lost any chance. Will he be more aggressive here? (2) DRAGON TIME stole the race a week ago.
Race 8
(4) K RYAN BLUECHIP closed well from an impossible spot last time and should stick closer moving in on the starting gate. (7) MCTHRILLER has turned his form around in a hurry for this barn; must use despite the class rise. (1) EXPRESS STRIDE N is another moving in on the gate. With the right setup, he could upset.
Race 9
(4) ROCK THE NITE drops for a very live barn and figures to bring a top effort. (7) BUSHWACKER couldn’t handle the first-over trip last time and he also drops; using. (3) SANTIAGO STYLE gets a driver change this week; wakes up? (4) BULLET BOB has early speed and should be heard from at least underneath.
Race 10
(1) SHOW ME UP came up second best versus a much sharper field last time. Let’s stay with him. (3) WESTERN TORO has proven himself here and will be heading to the front. (2) CHARMBRO CURIOSITY is great at saving ground and getting into the number. (4) MAGNUM MIKE is a 10-year-old with a career mark of 1:53 who is getting a monster trainer change; tough call.
Race 11
(3) GRAND THEFT had no shot from post 10 last time; moves way inside versus a dull field. (8) ROCKIN THE HOUSE has been awful of late but the driver change to Gingras should help. (7) CLARA BEA moves from claimers at Yonkers to the basement here. She could definitely perk up.
Race 12
(4) FCEE N raced well in his first start for this barn and finds a field with barely any form. (3) IDEAL ROMANCE drops in claiming price and gets a catch-driver. (9) ATLAS ALLIANCE N has speed and a bit of form. (10) JAMAICAN COWBOY perked up after the barn change.
