Best Bet: SANTIAGO STYLE (6th)

Spot Play: REIS STAR CROSS (3rd)

Race 3 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 8 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 8 - 21 / $70.40 (+$28.40)

BEST BETS: 0 - 1 / $0.00 (-$2.00)

Race 1

(3) BAD NIGHT MARE finds a much better spot this year in terms of class and post. Seven-year-old mare should have a big shot. (6) TEMPUS SEELSTER was used early and paid the price last time, but her prior form was fine. The only issue with her is an inability to finish her miles lately. (7) WHISKERSONKITTENS has been racing well and certainly fits with this group.

Race 2

(6) RUSH TO JUDGEMENT gets some major class relief this week after tackling Grand Circuit foes at the Red Mile. He should have a tactical edge on the improving closer (8) BOMBAY HANOVER, who has really come to form of late. (4) JACK QUICK ships up from Rosecroft in good form and deserves at least a look underneath.

Race 3

(3) REI’S STAR CROSS dealt with a bit of stretch traffic and finished up willingly when in a slightly higher class last week. (1) OK HEAVENLY continues to put in solid miles each week and just needs a decent setup to threaten. (2) FOLLOWTHEWIND N qualified well in his first trip on these shores. As a big unknown, I’ll take a look at her in the post parade. (6) PRINCESS FABULOSA has been racing reasonably well and this barn started off the meet hot last week.

Race 4

(10) CHEYENNE REIDER has turned his season around in the two starts since moving into the Lounsbury barn. Against what seems like a soft field, this guy can overcome the post at a decent price. (6) ATLAS ALLIANCE N has been racing well enough to think he can get the job done and it is nice to see a win over the track this year. (1) WESTERN REDHOT has some early speed and a better post this time.

Race 5

(4) ALWAYS A BB came up with a victory in his first start for this barn and his Hoosier races say he fits nicely with this group. (7) ROCK LIGHTS faced more experienced foes and put in a good effort last time. I expect he’ll fire a big mile this week. (2) LYONS STEEL has early speed and good form; using at least underneath.

Race 6

(2) SANTIAGO STYLE saved ground the entire mile and was trapped along the cones with no chance to stretch his legs in the lane. He drops a level tonight and should prove very tough. (1) DURANT hasn’t been overly sharp of late but does return to his favorite track where six of his 14 wins over the last two years have been recorded. (7) CONSTANTLYSIDEWYS A never got a chance to race after an early break last time. He’s worth a second look. (9) LEAR SEELSTER has the early speed to leave and get into the exotics.

Race 7

(5) SAMS TRIPLE CROWN has 16 finishes of at least second here in 33 starts over the last two years and often comes with a good price. He’s fast enough to get the job done if (6) CHECK SIX doesn’t show up. The latter gets some much needed class relief. It’s hard to say if it will do the trick. (7) DREAMS BEACHBOY has speed and form. (8) SOHO WALLSTREET A won in this class last time but catches a tougher field now.

Race 8

(4) HEAVENLY SOUND never got involved from post 10 last week but figures to be heard from this time. (8) AWESOMENESS came up a bit flat a week ago but does drop a notch this time. (2) MORE DRAGON qualified well for a barn that tends to bring them in live.

Race 9

(4) STRATOCASTER overcame post 10 in the preliminary round of this mini-series and there is no reason to think he won’t repeat from a much better starting spot tonight. (5) PUMPED UP KICKS has been racing pretty well and I wouldn’t be shocked if he stepped up his game now for a new barn. (9) ROGER MACH EM won last week in round one and was unfortunately rewarded with post 10; will need some luck.

Race 10

(1) SIR RICHIE N is sharp now and shouldn’t miss a beat for new trainer Nick Surick. (6) WESTERN TORO shows similar form to the top choice and at least you know he’ll be on or near the lead. (4) CC BIG BOY SAM won in a similar class last time and certainly has a big shot here.

Race 11

(1) ITSNOPROBLEMMAN was never involved but kicked home well from an outside post last time. He faces a much weaker group this week and has as good a shot as any. (4) DAYLYN HORIZON can step up with a big mile at times. (7) MAJOR STARLIGHT moves into a new barn and I expect he’ll be bet heavily. He might not be worth the low price.

Race 12

(4) LONE WOLF TERROR showed some signs of life when finishing with pace last week. He enters a new barn now and is eligible to awaken. (3) DAYLIGHT RUSH was competing in a top class at Flamboro and should fit nicely here. (8) BURKENTINE HANOVER moves into the Burke barn and while he could win, the price figures to be short. (7) RU READY TO ROCK has the early speed to make a bit of noise.
