Misswalner Fashion went right to the front and made every call a winning one in Saturday night's $294,580 Kindergarten Classic Series final for rookie trotting fillies at the Meadowlands.

Driven by Tim Tetrick, Misswalner Fashion left quickly from post five and was in command before the 28 1/5 quarter went on the board. She continued to show the way to a 57 second half and a 1:24 3/5 three-quarters, and was still clear turning for home as 4-5 favorite Lilbitalexis (Dexter Dunn) stalled out first-over in third on the last turn.

Through the stretch Misswalner Fashion remained the boss, and pocket-sitter Valentina Blu (Andy McCarthy) could only watch as the tempo-setter went on to tally by three lengths in 1:53 3/5. Primadonna Deo (David Miller) advanced from seventh to third in the last quarter.

"She felt great, cruising right along like she was doing no work," said Tetrick. "I knew [Lilbitalexis] would have to come first-up, so I let [my filly] trot pretty good around the turn and she finished up good."

A daughter of Walner-Sweet Love (Chocolatier) bred by Fashion Farms LLC., Misswalner Fashion is trained by Jim Campbell and owned by Jules Siegel and Judith Peres. She has compiled a record of 5-1-0 from eight career starts, and she has now earned $219,002. She was the second choice in the wagering and paid $5.60 to win.

"She made a break the first week and then raced kind of dull the second week [at The Red Mile], and that surprised me, but I'm glad she picked tonight to really like the Meadowlands," remarked Campbell. "She baby raced early. We were going to race her in the first leg of the sires stakes, but she came up sick. We weren't going to try to rush her back. We just took our time with her. It worked out okay. She finishes with a nice year and hopefully she'll come back and be a good filly for us next year."
