Meadowlands: M-M's Dream rules in Miss Versatility Series

M-M's Dream ended a recent bout of "second-itis" with a 1:51 1/5 victory in Saturday night's lone $40,000 division of the Miss Versaility Series for older trotting mares at the Meadowlands.
Partnered with Yannick Gingras for the first time, M-M's Dream blasted out to the top from post four, but she would yield to sit in the pocket behind a two-wide Tactical Mounds (Scott Zeron) just past the 27 1/5 quarter. Tactical Mounds remained in control through a 55 2/5 half and a 1:24 three-quarters, but M-M's Dream looked full of trot the whole time, and Gingras tipped her off the pylons before they turned for home.
After a brief battle, M-M's Dream vaulted past Tactical Mounds in the upper part of the stretch, and from there, M-M's Dream kept clear to the wire, prevailing by a length and a quarter. Nelsonbriteagle No (Ake Svanstedt) sat a three-hole trip and had some trot on the pylons in the lane to get second, and Warrawee Xenia (Bob McClure), who went two-wide from fourth before three-quarters, wound up third.

The Miss Versatility Series has one more prelim at the Meadowlands on September 6 before the $100,000 (est.) final at the Delaware (Ohio) County Fair on September 19.
