Preparations for the upcoming stakes season ramped up in a big way on Saturday at the Meadowlands as the oval played host to 17 qualifiers, with some of last year's stars out for a tour of the mile oval. Breeders Crown 2-Year-Old Colt Pace champion and Dan Patch Award winner Louprint (Dexter Dunn) scored in his initial outing of 2025, rallying from second-over in the final quarter to win in 1:52 3/5 for trainer Ron Burke. Burke was also third and fifth in that qualifier with Railroad Station and world champion Sippinonsearoc, who both had pace in the lane as well. Burke would also tally with stakes winners Swingtown, a 3-year-old colt by Downbytheseaside, in 1:52 2/5 with Yannick Gingras at the controls and Rodeo Drive Deo, a 3-year-old daughter of Captaintreacherous, in 1:53 1/5 with Todd McCarthy in the bike. Nancy Takter had the most training triumphs during the session, led by Hambletonian eligible Hard Seven (McCarthy). Hard Seven, a Chapter Seven colt who swept the Kentucky Sires Stakes program at Cumberland Run last fall, won by open lengths from first-over in 1:55 1/5. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Takter's other victors were Je Suis Cash S, a 4-year-old son of Ready Cash, in 1:55 1/5 with Josert Fonseca in the bike, 3-year-old Muscle Hill colt Travolta Hanover in 1:57 3/5 with Fonseca doing the driving and 3-year-old Tall Dark Stranger colt Welcometotheshow in 1:53 4/5 with Gingras handling the assignment.
