Race 1 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 8 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: SERIOUS MAJOR (1st)

Race 1 – GSY Amateur - $25K GTD Pick 5

(7) SERIOUS MAJOR comes off a big mile and shouldn’t miss a beat moving into a high percentage barn. He’s clearly the horse to beat for top amateur Hannah Miller. (5) THUNDER SOME WHERE raced well last time at Tioga and this guy comes from the same barn as the top choice and also has early speed. It could be a Miller family exacta. (8) JUST N BERLANDER has been racing well but would need a hot clip to set him up. (10) JACKSRLUCKYTOO returned from vacation with a nice mile and he’s got a strong history over this track.

Race 2 - $15-17.5K Claiming Handicap

(6) SPORTS VISION wasn’t able to do much since the claim by Mongiello and now shows up with Ginsburg as the trainer off a nice Gaitway qualifier. Don’t be shocked if this veteran wakes up at a price. (2) FOUR STACES never got involved after a month off versus better; clear player this week. (7) STARSKY’S DREAM N is down in claiming price and might awaken. (3) SKYWAY BILLY gets post relief.

Race 3 – Non-winners $3,500 last 5

(1) FIJI came up short last week but actually faces an even softer group tonight. (10) VOSS VOLO is way down in class but drew poorly. (4) P L LAYLA moves into a new barn and could perk up. (9) FERRISWHEEL JUNKIE picks up Tetrick.

Race 4 - $7.5-10K Claiming Handicap

(2) CAMWISER faced some decent foes in those Trackmaster Rating races and he drops in claiming price here looking for a win. Fourteen-year-old finds the perfect spot for one last hoorah at The Big M. (7) MCCITO has raced very well and will likely be odds-on, but I’m not convinced he’s worth the short price. (3) SIR RITCHIE N rolled off stride last week after getting used. He has won here before. (8) I’M SID THE KID is a low exotic player.

Race 5 – Non-winners $17,800 last 5

(7) VERY VERY FAST raced well in his first start for this barn and with any improvement a trip to the winner’s circle is very possible. (5) JL CRUZE faces an easier group yet again and seems likely to awaken eventually. (8) PERLUCKY is still finding his way as an older horse but certainly has a chance given a decent trip. (3) FASHION CREDITOR is better than his last line looks.

Race 6 – FM, Trackmaster Rating 74.5 or less

(7) FOX VALLEY HERMIA comes to town for a top barn off a win in her latest race and faces a very soft bunch. (3) STONEBRIDGE PEARL rallied well upon arrival but may get overbet off that mile. (10) JOHN’S ONE DESIRE also finished nicely but moves further outside now. (1) BIG CHUTE drops out of claimers and wouldn’t be a huge shock in a field without much consistency.

Race 7 – Winners 4-7 races life

(5) FASHIONWOODCHOPPER doesn’t look overly appealing on paper, but maybe looks are deceiving? He wasn’t going anywhere in the Graduate from post 10 last time but did trot home willingly the prior week after chasing slow fractions. This is a winning spot. (9) SAY YOU DO has been a win-machine in 2019 and is a must use on all tickets at this point. (4) MY LINDY WINNER gets a post edge on #9 this week, though the break last time is concerning. (2) DON’T LET’EM & (1) PRINCESS DEO are talented yet in a tough spot to start out their year.

Race 8 – FM, Non-winners $3,500 last 5 - $50K GTD Pick 4

(4) FAMILY ROLL CALL drops down and picks up a hot driver; rolling the dice at a price. (1) SHEWEARSTHEPANTS won in this class last week so obviously she’s a fit. (8) MAJOR MAID has found her form in recent weeks. (5) KIMBERLEE is another who is down in class; maybe.

Race 9 – Non-winners 4/5 races or $50-90K life

(4) U S CAPTAIN has been rolling along in his sophomore campaign and while he faces some older foes, there are no killers signed on. (2) DEALERS TABLE seems to be more under control now and got along great with Tetrick two starts back. (3) WISE IMAGE rolled down the road in 1:50 the one time he drew a decent starting spot. (1) WORLD ON EDGE looked like he had ability early on but has hit a wall of late.

Race 10 – Non-winners $3,500 last 5

(9) BETTOR SPIRITS N improved in his second start for the Bongiorno barn and getting Sears in the bike this week shouldn’t hurt. (2) MCCLINCHIE N drops down and Abbatiello is likely to get him in play. (4) ROCK ON PRECIOUS is back at his comfort level but remains winless on the year. (8) MATEO hasn’t won in a while either but seems worth using in the trifecta.

Race 11 – Non-winners $9,000 last 5

(3) CHECKMATE TIME has come here and surprised in the past. Mare draws inside her main foes and could pull off a surprise. (10) GONNA FLY is stuck with another bad post but perhaps new driver Brian Sears can figure out a trip. (8) ZLATAN is clearly down in class and could be flying off the gate. (9) MUGSHOT JESS was second in this class last time from a better post.

Race 12 – FM, Non-winners $12,000 last 5

(7) CATCH AN ACE held her own with some salty foes last time after missing two months of action. Maybe this 4-year-old is capable of stepping up to the plate here. (2) TRAFFIC JAM is the sharpest horse in the race and that counts for something. (6) PERCY BLUECHIP has the class if she can find some form. (4) SELL A BIT N will likely be near the front and should be used on the bottom of your exotics.

Race 13 – Non-winners 2 races or $20k life

(10) STENHOUSE HANOVER blew a ton of money with a break last time but he’s been known to do that. Post 10 along with the break should mean a much better price this week. (1) STAR TRACK HANOVER is back at The Meadowlands where he has done some good work. (4) WINNING HABIT just missed in this class at a big price last out. (9) SEXY WOW has looked good so far but gets tested a bit here.
