Meadowlands logo (new)

Best Bet: BIZET (2nd)

Spot Play: PAPPY GO GO (8th)

Race 3 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool

Race 8 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

MEET STATS: 92 - 267 / $519.70 (-$14.30)

BEST BETS: 8 - 22 / $22.80 (-$21.20)

Race 1

(6) LIPPY DOO improved in her second start for this barn and might be ready to roll now versus a dull field. (4) KEYSTONE KRYSTAL has been closing ok on smaller tracks. Maybe the stretch out will help. (3) PLAIN OLD JANE was stuck with an outside post in his first start with this barn; using on the move inside.

Race 2

(4) BIZET won easily in this class when last seen and he should have no trouble tonight. (5) CREDIT FRAUD has only missed the board twice all year and seems willing to take some air on the rim. (1) SEVEN ROSES moves inside this week and should come away close enough to get into the lower exotics.

Race 3

(6) CASH FOR GOLD couldn’t finish out his mile coming back in only five days to race. Dropping in for a tag this week, I’m expecting to see more. (10) SHADY MCCOY is down in class and has the early speed to overcome the bad draw. (1) SERGEANT SEELSTER blew away lesser last time out.

Race 4

(5) DERF HANOVER showed up in this class last week and won going away. This race looks slightly tougher but he still gets the call. (3) FASHION FOREVER ships in with good form. (4) DAWSON SPRINGS raced well in his first start for trainer Andrew Harris. (2) ITHINKTHATSMINE has a couple of qualifiers under her belt and could be ready to go now.

Race 5

(2) STORMTRACKER romped versus an easier field last out. Four-year-old lured Gingras off a Burke horse. (1A) SHADY CAROLINE took care of business in this class when last seen here. (5) THE SPINSTER N raced evenly from the back last time and now takes another dip in class; ready to shine? (9) OK HEAVENLY is another dropping down but gets unlucky with post 10.

Race 6

(7) ZLATAN seems to be in an easier spot this week after finishing third last time. (3) MARION GONDOLIER was racing well back in November and he is good enough to compete here with a wakeup. (1) DEKEYSER arrives off a confidence-building win out of town.

Race 7

(2A) DARLINONTHEBEACH raced well in Canada versus good competition and finds a field she should be able to handle. (1A) KAK’S SHARK ATTACK comes off a solid win and gets a nice mid-pack post. (5) BRAZUCA has won two straight and has good tactical speed.

Race 8

(3) PAPPY GO GO faded on the lead last week on a night when only 2 of the 14 winners took charge early and lasted on the engine. Against this clearly softer field, I’m sticking with this guy. (1) WINNING SHADOW has form for top connections but his only mile track experience has come in qualifiers. (5) OSVALDO BLUE CHIP comes off a solid effort versus a strong foe. (10) ROCK OF CASHEL is hurt by post 10 but is capable given the right trip.

Race 9

(3) FAMILY ROLL CALL comes off a solid second place finish in this class a week ago. (4) PENPAL is the best horse in the race if Smith can keep her close enough to utilize her powerful stretch kick. (7) BELIEVE IN ME tackled tougher last time and can compete versus these.

Race 10

(3) RESITA took plenty of air last time; class drop should be key. (6) UHLAN NOIR comes out of the same higher class as the top pick and actually finished just ahead of that foe. (4) BETTER CALL SAUL raced well in defeat last time.

Race 11

(3) ITSNOPROBLEMMAN moves into a high percentage barn and figures to show more. (6) FOUR STACES raced well in this class last time. (5) IDEAL ROMANCE steps up after consecutive wins for different barns. I’m a bit leery about a short price while bumping up in claiming price.

Race 12

(4) FOLLOWTHEWIND N, (6) A PLUS & (1) DEUCES FOR CHARITY all drop in class this week and one of them should wake up in a big way.

Race 13

(5) HAMMER TIME was second behind a runaway winner last time and I expect you’ll still see a decent price tonight. (4) DONATOVER should win easily if he behaves but that is a huge if. (3) U NEED STONES hasn’t been able to last the mile on the smaller track at Philly. He has won here in the past though.

Race 14

(7) RECLAMATION arrived here last week and just missed in a very nice mile. She should take a picture now. (2) ROBYN CAMDEN comes out of the same race as the top pick and needs to improve some to get to her. (5) ODDS ON ASHLEY has speed and form, but hasn’t raced in three weeks. (8) DRY CREEK GIN shows some good lines on the bigger track at Vernon.
