Race 1
(6) SHADY MCCOY had no shot from post 8 at Philly last time and was way up in class in his two previous starts. This looks like a great spot. (7) HOT SUMMER KNIGHT has been up against it trying to close from the back at Monticello. Veteran has five wins her in 17 starts this year. (2) FOX VALLEY STEFFEN has always done well here and Lappe is very capable in the bike.
Race 2
(5) GALLANT MAN sells as HIP 1549 at Harrisburg and will no doubt be ready to pop up with a big mile prior to that date. As long as he behaves, he is certainly fast enough. (4) I WIN HANOVER has some early speed and could set up shop in prime position. (2) CASH CALF has raced pretty well but might not be fast enough if the top one shows up.
Race 3
(6) MUSCLE DIAMOND raced very well here earlier in the year and ships back in red-hot. (4) OPULENT YANKEE has missed four weeks of action but that shouldn’t matter. He’ll flash speed as usual and take the field a long way. (2) PAPPY GO GO takes a giant step up in class but has great form.
Race 4
(6) ICOMMANDMYSPIRIT does well at this track in general and did show up with a much improved mile last time. (5) PHYLLIS JEAN came up a bit short after nearly four weeks on the sidelines. She fits in here. (2) BAD NIGHT MARE doesn’t look great on the win end, but with a clean trip it is possible.
Race 5
(7) ODDS ON STEPHANIE rolled here last week and with Derue in the bike we might actually get some value on the toteboard. (5) MODESTY just missed in a nice try on the engine last out after three months on the bench; dangerous. (6) DELIGHTFUL FEATHER has never finished worse than third but comes in off a layoff.
Race 6
(6) MISSLAROSE has a legitimate chance to go down the road in this spot. (5) MY CHERRY PIE has the early speed to make the top ahead of #6 and she is sharp. (7) DEEP IMPACT has talent but it hasn’t all come together as of yet. He has a shot in here, especially if the top choice blows up.
Race 7
(6) I’M TRIGGER HAPPY gets some nice class relief as she moves into the conditioned ranks. Her last appearance at a lower level back on 9-12 resulted in a win. (4) FOLLOWTHEWIND N added Lasix and went down the road; using. (5) CRACKLIN ROSIE has been racing very well lately and deserves consideration.
Race 8
(9) GLASS PRINCE keeps his current claiming price but faces easier as he moves into a handicap race. The post isn’t ideal but he can overcome it. (8) STILL FRISKIE is also dropping down and he is actually reducing his claiming price; must use. (4) CC BIG BOY SAM looks for three straight and might just be sharp enough to get it.
Race 9
(5) LAUDERDALE couldn’t head to the front as free and easily as he would’ve liked when too many others to his inside opted for the same tactics last time. I see no early speed to his left this week. (8) MAYFAIR JOHNNY B steps up off a very nice win. (6) PINGALING has raced rather well since moving into this barn and adding hobbles.
Race 10
(6) SPEED TO MARKET proved in his last start that he could handle this track and race well. You have to like that he should be forwardly placed. (2) DUDDIE’S LOR can’t seem to stay on the track, but he does show some good lines. (1) WESTERN EXPOSURE should be in good position from the inside post. (7) BOMBAY HANOVER has a big closing kick if the race sets up right. Two-year-old is HIP 1215 in the sale next week.
