Race 1
(6) GLOBAL PAGEANT comes off a pair of solid miles versus better and should be able to handle this group. (2) CAN’T TOUCH IT has the advantage of early speed and I wouldn’t be shocked if she got away soft on the engine. (4) QUEEN OF TRIXS raced ok in this series last time.
Race 2
(5) AIRBORNE HANOVER finished well versus more established foes last week and now finds herself against her peers. She’s an interesting play at what should be a fair price. (3) ODDS ON STEPHANIE raced well in a similar class in early summer, but I’m not sure she’s worth the likely 2-5 off odds. (4) SOMEANGELSOMEWHERE shows enough on paper to consider as a win candidate with the right trip.
Race 3
(4) HANNA DREAMGIRL gets the class relief she needs to perk back up. (1) BIG WEEZY has never missed the board and seems to be in a decent spot to continue the good run. (2) JEZZYS LEGACY sat close through slow fractions and just missed in a nice effort.
Race 4
(5) SWEET DIAMOND picked up a win in the third start of her career but wasn’t exactly bad prior. Well-bred filly could be ready to live up to her pedigree. (2) JK MARDI SAYS is an uncoupled stablemate of the top pick who is getting some serious class relief. (4) DARN TOOTN HANOVER seems to be somewhat on par with the top two in terms of ability, but she settles for second way too often.
Race 5
(3) ODDS ON BOCA RATON left fast but faced stretch traffic two starts back and was simply in too tough last time. Son of Captaintreacherous is in soft this week and should flex his muscles. (6) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH has been fairly consistent and is coming off a win. (5) CENTURY FERRARI put in a solid try after missing multiple months.
Race 6
(4) WATERWAY arrives from the Red Mile where he put in some good efforts. He should take care of business here. (5) MAC’S POWER wired them last week in this series; bottom of cold exacta? (1) MELANIE’S TEDY comes in from Hoosier and looks fast enough if he brings his best game.
Race 7
(1) SOUL STRONG moved to the big track and closed in nicely for a second-place finish last week. In a field without a clear standout, he could save ground and pick them off late. (6) REVE TOUJOURS picks up an aggressive driver and along with (5) LUCKY WEEKEND, they both should be in play early with a big shot at a win. (7) DON’T LET’EM will likely be the heavy chalk here but has a breaking problem and poor form. I guess he’s hard to exclude from your multi-race tickets, but I may just go that route.
Race 8
(9) SEVEN HILLS & (5) NO DRAMA PLEASE jump off the page as the fastest of this group, but the former appears to be much more handy and certainly more reliable as a top pick. (1) MEMO has been fairly consistent and should grab a piece.
Race 9
(5) JK AMERICAN BEAUTY was scratched-sick last time but is right back in the box, so let’s assume it was a minor issue. Along with stablemate (1) CAVIART DARLIN’ they are both major players in this race. (2) ODDS ON ST LUCUE has been good and awful; tricky read.
Race 10
(7) SWANCREDIT almost went down the road last week and doesn’t seem to have much early resistance to his inside tonight. This looks like a prime spot for up-and-comer Mitchell Cushing. (8) PAPPY GO GO qualified back nicely but may have plenty of horses to pass late. (10) PRICELESSPOSSESION is down in class this week. (9) DON DORADO is another with early zip that should be in play.
