The finals of the Whata Baron Series and Burning Point Series headlined Saturday's card at the Meadowlands, with public choices Barimah A and Apple Bottom Jeans delivering the goods.

The $53,500 Whata Baron final for pacing males kicked off the card and saw Barimah A (Andy Miller) hit the front at the 27 second opening quarter, then get to the half in 55 seconds. Business picked up on the final turn, as Phoenix Warrior N (Jim Pantaleano) charged at Barimah A, with Barimah A able to keep control in a 26 1/5 third quarter and a three-quarters in 1:21 1/5. Barimah A put Phoenix Warrior N away for good in upper stretch, and with Windsong Leo (Jim Marohn Jr.) boxed in the pocket until too late, Barimah A held sway by a neck in 1:49 1/5. Phoenix Warrior N saved third.

Barimah A is an 8-year-old Bettor's Delight gelding trained by Scott Di Domenico for owners Brian Carsey, John McGill, and Adam Friedland. This was his 24th career victory, and he has now earned $303,544. He was sent off at 3-2 and paid $5.00 to win.

Pacing mares lined up for $54,500 in the Burning Point final, and it would be Apple Bottom Jeans (Victor Kirby) polishing off a series sweep with a 1:50 2/5 win. Apple Bottom Jeans moved from third to first past the 27 1/5 opening quarter, but gave way to the challenge of Windsun Glory (Andrew McCarthy) just before the 54 1/5 half-mile marker.

Windsun Glory fought off a first-over advance from Valuable Art around the far turn, to the 1:21 4/5 three-quarters, and into the stretch, but a seam became available up the inside for Apple Bottom Jeans in the lane, and she poured through it, going on to win by half a length. Valuable Art was a game second from post ten, with Princess Fabulosa (Steve Smith) third off a third-over trip.

A 5-year-old Mr Apples mare, Apple Bottom Jeans is trained by Kevin Switzer for owner Kdk Standardbreds. This was her 18th lifetime win, and she pushed her bankroll to $477,224. The 2-5 choice, she returned $2.80 to win.
