Meadowlands: Ecurie D heads participants in Saturday's qualifiers
After finishing third in the Crawford Farms Trot on July 2, Ecurie D returned to action on Saturday morning at the Meadowlands and was victorious in a qualifying race.
Ecurie D, who raced against two 3-year-olds (Thewinnertakeitall and Laws Of Motion), led through fractions of 30, 58 1/5, and 1:26 3/5 on his way to a 21 length victory in 1:53 2/5 for trainer/driver Ake Svanstedt. Svanstedt also co-owns the 6-year-old Infinitif stallion with Marko Kreivi Stables Inc. and Suleyman Yuksel Stables Inc.
Svanstedt also sent out 5-year-old Ready Cash stallion Back Of The Neck to a win during the session. He wore down leader Donna Soprano (Dan Dube) after tipping out of the pocket going to the 1:25 2/5 three-quarters and scored by a length and a quarter in 1:52 3/5 for co-owner/breeder Order By Stable AB, Howard Taylor, Judith Taylor, and Ake Svanstedt Inc.
Trainers Tony Alagna, Nancy Takter, and Linda Toscano all had multiple wins during the events for 2-year-olds. Alagna teamed up with Dexter Dunn to tally with Captaintreacherous colt El Rey [1:53 1/5], Captaintreacherous filly Reggae Hanover [1:54 1/5] and Chapter Seven filly Royal Filly [1:57 1/5].
Jimmy Takter drove both of Nancy's victors, with Tactical Landing colt Tactical Approach [1:55 4/5] and Father Patrick colt Polo Bar [1:59] getting the job done.

Scott Zeron steered both of the Toscano trainees to their triumphs, prevailing with Sweet Lou filly Mind Blowing [1:55 4/5] and Bar Hopping filly Totally Relentless [1:56 2/5].
The other winners during the morning were 5-year-old So Surreal mare So Fla Lolita in 1:52 1/5 for driver James O'Donnell and trainer Nik Drennan, and 2-year-old E L Titan filly Way Off Broadway in 1:59 2/5 for driver Ake Svanstedt and trainer Michael Eaton.
