Meadowlands cancels Friday night card due to rain

After steady overnight rain in northern New Jersey, the Friday night Thoroughbred card at The Meadowlands has been canceled. This is the second cancellation at the six-night all-turf Monmouth-at-Meadowlands meet, which will conclude Saturday.

Sunny weather is expected to move into the region Friday afternoon and continue Saturday, so hopefully the closing-night card will be held. The turf is likely to be less than firm.

There will be mandatory payouts on both the Jersey 6 and the pick five. The Jersey 6 has a carryover of $4,358. The pick five on the six-race card has a carryover of $12,038.
