Defending Horse of the Year Twin B Joe Fresh won her third straight qualifier as part of Saturday morning's session at the Meadowlands. Co-owner Dexter Dunn had the Chris Ryder trainee on the front-end through fractions of 28 4/5, 55 3/5 and 1:22 3/5, and she came home in 28 2/5 into a stiff headwind to stop the timer in 1:51 flat. The 5-year-old Roll With Joe mare wrapped up her 2024 campaign with a summary of 30-7-1 from 40 appearances and earnings of over $2.3 million. Trainer Ake Svanstedt sent out three victors, led by last year's Goldsmith Maid champion What A Bid Hanover. The 3-year-old daughter of Muscle Hill fanned out of third past three-quarters and rallied to a 1:56 2/5 score, defeating Dan Patch Award winner Champagne Problems (Dexter Dunn) by a length and three-quarters. Svanstedt also prevailed with 3-year-old Walner filly Dusty D Lite (1:57 4/5) and 5-year-old Ready Cash mare Dial Square S in 1:55 1/5. In other action during the morning, Super Chapter, who won the Kentucky Championship Series final and was second in the Valley Victory last year, began his Road to the Hambletonian with a 1:56 4/5 victory over 2024 Hambletonian Oaks favorite Elista Hanover (David Miller). Super Chapter, a Chapter Seven colt, was steered by Dunn for trainer Marcus Melander. Dunn also guided 7-year-old Bettor's Delight stallion Chimichurri N (1:52 2/5) and 3-year-old Tall Dark Stranger gelding Interstatedaydream (1:54 2/5) to victories. Chimichurri N is trained by Shane Tritton, while Interstatedaydream was sent out by Nancy Takter.
