CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 179-57-37-23 / $331.80 (-$26.20) BEST BETS: 14-9-1-2 / $35.10 (+7.10) SPOT PLAYS: 13-3-4-1 / $11.00 (-$15.00) BEST BET: DIRE STRAITS (2nd) SPOT PLAY: PARTY BOY (5th) Race 1: TrackMaster 74 (NW L3/5 74.5/75) or less/Opt. $7,500 Claiming/NW2 in 2022 - Pick 5 (6) DEERFIELD BEACH went a bit too fast last time and that sealed his fate. Without much speed to his inside, the road to the winner's circle should be easier. (2) FINAL JUSTICE comes off a solid performance and adding Dunn should only help. (5) KINGOFTHEJUNGLE gets a major driver change to a Meadowlands regular and while he has a clear chance, he'll be bet off the board. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NJ Sire Stakes 2YO Colt Trot - Survivor 7 (2) DIRE STRAITS cruised in his baby race debut and followed it up with a WOW stretch rush into a wicked head wind. Muscle Hill homebred looks to have some ability. (4) RAISEALITTLEHILL wasn't bad qualifying up north and put in a decent first effort in an overnight. Miller may be able to get a bit more out of him. (7) OH WELL is another who looked good in the mornings but I sense a conservative steer for this $530,000 Harrisburg purchase. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NJ Sire Stakes 2YO Filly Trot (6) MONI LISA made an easy brush to the front but couldn't sustain late while under some asking. The time was solid enough and the wind may have been a factor in the loss. Let's give her another look for top connections. (3) GRAND FASHION was good in her first qualifier but just ok the second time. This barn tends to come out swinging at times. (1) DANIELLE HILL was coasting on her own and got caught in that last qualifier. I'm not holding it against her. Race 4: NJ Sire Stakes 2YO Colt Trot - Pick 6 (8) WINNER'S BET charged home impressively last time and should offer some value with #5 in the field and Gingras choosing off for (2) POINT OF PERFECT. The latter has done nothing wrong in the morning and should stick close to the pace in here. (5) LITTLE EXPENSIVE blew out a big mile in his lone start just five days ago but I didn't love his action and the money seems likely to be down with that 1:56 4/5 time. (7) PESO HANOVER is one of many coming down from Mohawk for owner Gino Toscano and his first showing was solid. Race 5: Non-winners $3,000 in last 5 (7) PARTY BOY really hasn't been that bad despite lackluster lines of late. Picking up McCarthy is a huge plus. (6) NOME HANOVER drops out of the same races as the top pick and was close to him in those contests. (4) WINDSONG JACK raced well last time from the outside post. If he is turning it around, watch out. Race 6: NJ Sire Stakes 2YO Filly Trot - Pick 4 (1) MAMBACITA was well within herself winning her June 18 qualifier and keep in mind she trotted home in 28 2/5 into the wind. Tactical Landing youngster seems to have ability. (2) SECRET VOLO had trouble clearing in her last qualifier but was able to professionally settle in the pocket and blow by the leader in the stretch. Walner filly is worth serious consideration in the top spot. (5) BUBZARELLIE was a gutsy winner at The Meadows and now needs to prove whether she can handle this type on the big track. Race 7: NJ Sire Stakes 2YO Colt Trot (2) CELEBRITY BAMBINO was a professional uncovered winner last time and a blowout victor before that. Muscle Hill colt looks to have the chops to succeed. (3) SMOOTH LANDING held ok after being passed in the stretch last time and now we get a major driver upgrade. (9) UPSTAGED made a big controlled move in his last morning effort and the only question is whether he'll be put in play. (5) SIX DAY WARS came up short in his first start for this stable; very capable. (3) EFFINGHAM came up with a nice debut mile and gets a good driver change here. Race 9: Non-winners $3,000 (NW L3 $3,600) in last 5 or 2 races in 2021-22/TM 76.5 or less (3) HAMMER TIME is the fastest horse in the field. The big question here is whether he'll trot the mile. (4) WILLTOWN HANOVER looks to be fast enough if she can handle the boys and elders. (5) KEYSTONE CECILIA came up short in her first start back from a break in action and figures to show more now. (2) ALEXANDER HANOVER finally draws inside and could show more. (6) J-S JASPER picks up Dunn.
