BEST BETS: 3-1-0-1 / $2.60 (-3.40)
SPOT PLAYS: 3-1-0-2 / $3.00 (-$3.00)

SPOT PLAY: DELTASUN A (6th)
Race 1: Non-winners $6,000 in last 4 - Pick 5
(3) TYPHOON STRIDE N made a more aggressive uncovered move in his second start on these shores and tired after going some fast fractions. He drops in class this week and could step up in a big way. (1) BLANK STARE returns to the Big M at a much reduced level for a barn that excels on the class-drop angle. (5) DA DELIGHTFUL is down in class and adds a catch-driver; must respect.

Race 2: Winners 2-4 (NW L3 5) or $50,000 life
(3) BILLY CLYDE has missed a few weeks of action but did qualify sharply over this track. While he hasn't gotten over the top in a stakes event yet, he really has no excuses in here. (2) SOUTHWIND PETYR broke in the NYSS final, but that happened to a bunch of horses starting from post 1 that night. He's a definite player in here if the top one doesn't show up. (1) MICKEYS SPIRIT faces better this week but seems sharp enough to lay close from the cones.

Race 3: Non-winners $3,500 (NW L3 $4,500) in last 4/NW $2,000 draw inside - Survivor 7
(5) RAPUNZEL BLUE CHIP raced very well from post 9 to be second last week. She draws better now and gets another free ride in the same class via a sub condition. (7) CAPTAINS MAID goes against older this time but may actually like this company better. Will she be put in play? (6) J ROCKIN B was third behind the top pick most recently for a barn that has been doing well at the meet but coming up just short of wins.
Race 4: Non-winners $6,000 (NW L3 $6,850) in last 4
(7) MAX went off as the chalk in a tougher spot last week versus some of these and finished third. There are no excuses here. (1) CHIPLOSIVE finally lured Napolitano off #8. Maybe that's a sign he's about to wake up? (8) SKYWAY KON MAN continues to draw outside posts. One of these weeks he's going to be put in play. He is sharper than he looks on paper. (5) WINGS OF SPEED has big early speed and could hang around for a good share.
Race 5: Non-winners $3,500 (NW L2 $4,075) in last 4
(5) ROCKEYED OPTIMIST drops down for the fourth straight week and this former classy veteran really should be able to tap into the fountain of youth for a start. (6) CECIL CASANOVA just missed on the engine last time despite coming off a two-month break in action; dangerous in his second start back. (8) FOREVERNALWAYS missed by just a neck in his last try at this level.
Race 6: Non-winners $9,000 (NW L3 $10,000) in last 4 - Pick 6
(8) DELTASUN A moved back into the Harris barn last time and raced well. This class is most definitely his comfort zone here and I'm expecting a big performance. (3) WINNERUP drops a notch and should be firing to the front; clear threat if the top one isn't on his game. (6) HL REVADON has a pair of recent seconds in this class. (2) MY BOY CHRISTIAN is another class-dropper who could awaken.
Race 7: Non-winners $17,500 (NW L3 $19,250) in last 4/NW $9,000-$12,500 or 7 races life draw inside
(5) STONEBRIDGE SOUL should be firing off the gate in this spot and have every chance to succeed. Her last start came against a much better foe in Warrawee Ubeaut. (2) BETTORS HEART N has been closing well for nothing in recent weeks. She’s not as dull as her lines look. (6) TELLITSASSYMAE was used hard and paid the price when last seen a couple of weeks back. She's a player with the right trip in a race where almost any of these gals could win.
Race 8: Winners 2-4 (NW L3 5) life
(4) BALENCIAGA was stuck in an impossible spot in the NYSS final and got what he could late. He's fairly versatile and should have a big say here from a good post. (1) MAZZARATI gets an interesting barn change here. Filly has displayed some ability and perhaps these connections can get the most out of her. (5) ZENITH STRIDE figures to show more on the drop out of stakes action, but he hasn't been known as a horse who likes to win. (3) CARUSO seems to have put his breaking issues behind him. That said, the competition gets much tougher here.
Race 9: $100,000-$150,000 Claiming Handicap - $50K GTD Pick 4
(4) MAJOR BETTS hasn't done that much since moving into the Bongiorno barn, but it is worth noting this is his first try on the big track for her. We could see some of his quick early speed here. (5) VETTEL N looks for three straight in this class. (2) DE LOS CIELOS DEO is always capable of popping off a big mile but he can’t be trusted.
Race 10: Non-winners $17,500 in last 4/NW $12,500 draw inside
(9) BACK OF THE NECK gets some serious class relief here and notice his last overnight appearance was a wire-to-wire win at Pocono versus good company. He's worth a shot here if the price is right. (5) AMIGO VOLO qualified back in good order and the switch away from stakes horses is a nice plus. (1) PLAY TRIX FOR ME moves inside, which should allow him to stick close without having to exert too much early energy. (6) SWAN IN MOTION hasn't been a stakes horse like last year but continues to enjoy a solid 4-year-old campaign.

Race 11: Non-winners $9,000 (NW L3 $9,900) in last 4
(5) FATHER NUNO did the heavy lifting in a fast mile last time and seems to be coming into form. (4) DEALER'S TABLE gets some serious class relief here but has never been overly reliable. (2) HEZA REAL DIAMOND seems to keep running into slightly sharper foes; win contender on best.
Race 12: Non-winners $6,000 (NW L3 $6,600) in last 4/TM 80.75 or less/Opt. $20,000 Clm.
(6) BETALADY rolled to an easy win last time only to get dq'd. She lays over this field if she minds her manners. (9) GOTTALOVEMYSHADOW gunned down the road last weekend and is a serious threat to do it again despite the class jump. (1) NIMAH FRANCO N hasn't yet taken the next step since coming over from Down Under. Perhaps Sears can work his magic. (4) SO NICE HANOVER was used aggressively and didn't respond last time; different tactics now?
