Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5

(1) YER SO BAD made a crazy three-wide move the entire final turn and paid the price last time. Driver change tonight is interesting. (8) LEW HAUBER also went a difficult trip when used to the front from post 10. Will he leave hard again or take a more patient route? (3) FRAZIER HANOVER is always right there. He can certainly win given the right trip.

Race 2: Kindergarten 2YO C&G Pace

(1) AINTMYFIRSTRO DEO rolled through the NJSS Platinum ranks and now tries the Kindergarten on for size. He looks best again as others may be racing in Sire Stakes spots elsewhere. (4) TANK LOUIS has been right there in each start and he seems like a decent fit versus all but the top pick. (6) YELLOW JACKET is the logical backup pick to #1 but he doesn’t have to finish second here.

Race 3: Kindergarten 2YO C&G Trot - Survivor 7

(2) MAXMAN wasn’t keeping the best company in the Silver NJSS, but he raced very well and doesn’t exactly catch a stellar group tonight. (3) EMULOUS HANOVER couldn’t handle better foes in PASS and maybe he’d prefer the big track. He could rebound at a price. (4) OREL BULLDOG couldn’t have won any easier in his last qualifier. He was never asked and cruised to the wire. Walner colt is an unknown that could step up.

Race 4: NJSDF 3YO Filly Trot Final - Pick 4

(1) LEADING LADY worked hard first-over and succumbed to #4 in this field as she tracked her cover in a perfect trip scenario. She only needs a slightly better trip to take this field to task. (2) WHATARACE HANOVER did the heavy lifting on the front and lacked any stretch resistance last time. I can see her getting away a bit softer or sitting the pocket behind a brushing top pick. (4) GRAND PRIX DEO will see her off-odds plumet this week and while she can win with a repeat effort, the return doesn’t seem worth it anymore.

Race 5: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Trot

(4) RIO DE JANEIRO flashed speed to the front, took a bad shuffle after yielding and charged home for the victory in a statement mile on the class drop. This group looks right up her alley. (2) MRS RATTIGAN has been somewhat disappointing but perhaps the few weeks off will perk her up; inside post helps. (9) DAY ONE DANDY was a convincing winner in her latest start 22 days ago and she has the early speed to overcome the tough post. It is worth pointing out that the middle of the gate has a number of potential players early in the mile and that is a negative for her chances. (6) P L UPTOWN GIRL tries the big track for the first time and could be a factor if she drops time.

Race 6: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Pace - Pick 5

(6) MISS CHEVIOUS was maybe handled a bit carefully on the turns last time but otherwise seemed better after a month away with a scratched-lame line in the mix. She moves to the big track tonight and that could help any gait issues. (5) SCHNAPPS HANOVER will be gunning to the front and should be in prime position. She only finished a neck behind the top pick last time. (1) GLITTERING will come away close as well and have an upset chance if they go fast enough to make her late move useful.

Race 7: Non-winners $10,500 (NW L2 $12,500) in last 5 or 8 (NW L2 11) races life/TM 85.5 (NW L2 87) or less

(7) MR MOUTON was an easy winner in his last conditioned race and really should take this field to task unless a horse like (3) MONSERRATE awakens from his slumber. He did qualify very well and has talent. (6) CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS has been improving lately and got the win last time, but this group is saltier than what she’s been facing.

Race 8: NJSDF 3YO C&G Trot Final - Pick 4

(3) DAVID SEAMAN S finished just behind (5) CAPTAIN JORDAN last week when that one had the inside advantage on him and also got to save all the ground up the pylons. With the posts reversed here the result could also be different. (6) AJAX BLUE CHIP wasn’t bad from off the pace last time and he shows some very good miles, including being second in the Muscle Hill. He could be interesting at a price.

Race 9: Trackmaster 80.5 (NW L2 82.5) or less

There doesn’t appear to be much early speed in this race, so we’ll focus on those horses and start with (1) GALANTE A, who should let the dust settle and brush to the top. He’s been second in his last two tries in this class. (5) DEAN B HANOVER returns here at a slightly higher level but certainly figures to be put in play early and wind up sitting second or third with a chance to strike late; Beckwith’s choice over top pick. (7) XPERT has early speed and form but has found winning at the TM80 class a bit difficult; using underneath.

Race 10: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Pace - Pick 6

(1) PERFECT BODY put it all together in the Platinum final and if she can repeat that performance with an early brush here, the rest will be racing for second. (5) STERL THE PEARL crushed lesser a couple of weeks ago. Lazarus-sired filly needs a big mile to get some points after missing the first three legs of the series. (6) PERFECT HOPE DEO posted a win as well against easier foes in the Home Grown last out. She’ll need to drop some time to beat the top one.

Race 11: Trackmaster 83.5 (NW L2 85.5) or less - Pick 5

(3) IGNATIUS A picked up some confidence at Philly last time. Notice his previous two starts here were from outside posts. Veteran seems to be in a good spot. (6) BEAT COP adds an aggressive driver and could be firing out at decent odds. (5) STOP THE SHOOTIN’ broke and still won last weekend; form is solid.

Race 12: Non-winners $10,500 (NW 2L4 $12,500) in last 5 or 8 (NW L2 9) races life/TM 86.95 (NW L2 88.5) or less - Pick 4

(5) WORLD OF WISHES was purchased online for $70K on August 13, so new trainer Bongiorno has had him for a couple of weeks to make changes. Four-year-old has ability and maybe new eyes will unlock the door to it. (7) SOUTHWIND GENDRY is the class of the field and he won his last start in this condition. (2) WATER SPORTS TEEN is capable of firing to the front and never looking back, though I don’t love that he scratched sick and missed two weeks instead of one. (3) AMERICAN SON has been fairly consistent of late.

Race 13: Trackmaster 77.5 (NW L2 79.5) or less/Opt. $12,500 Clm. - $3 Pick 3

(7) BIG HESS was used hard and still held for third in his first start over the track. That was only his second try for this barn and first race in five weeks. Improvement is certainly in the cards. (2) CRUNCHY perked up in this class a week ago and should have the opportunity to be close to the pace again. (4) SELECT FRIDAY steps up in fine form. A win isn’t impossible but I’ll use him underneath.

Race 14: $20,000-$25,000 Claiming Handicap - $5 Double

(5) CHALK HANOVER gets a rare chance away from the outside of the gate and figures to take advantage of that prime opportunity. (6) J M MANDAMIN has been super in this class for the last few weeks. (8) ROCKNROLL GOLD has big speed off the gate and certainly will be using it; dangerous on best. (7) MOVING ON OVER drops in for a tag for the first time since December. Four-year-old could awaken and Beckwith sticks over my pick.

Race 15: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2 76.5) or less/Opt. $12,500 Clm.

(3) HONOLUGOO hasn’t been behaving on the small tracks and perhaps the switch to two turns versus a somewhat soft field will make the difference. (6) MR CONTESTANT beat better here just a few months ago. He’s worth using on your Pick 3 and Double tickets. (1) LOOKATMEGOAMIGO moves into a new barn and could awaken. That said, his PP lines are hard to like.
