CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 228-76-42-40 / $415.60 (-$40.40) BEST BETS: 17-5-6-1 / $16.80 (-19.20) SPOT PLAYS: 17-6-5-2 / $41.40 (+$7.40) BEST BET: CATTLEWASH (7th) SPOT PLAY: GET LEGS (11th) Race 1: 2-Year-Old Colts & Geldings - Pick 5 (5) JK VICTORY finished fast in his first qualifier and came back last time with an even sharper performance. Half-brother to Little Rocket Man (1:47 2/5) appears to have ability for a barn that tends to send them out ready. (6) CAVIART CAMDEN was very impressive after making a break in his initial qualifier. The first crop of Huntsville has looked good so far, though Andrew McCarthy went to #1. (8) NAVIGATOR needed some urging but got the job done in his last morning effort. Full brother to Ellagator (4th in 2yo KYSS and OHSS) will need the right trip but isn't impossible. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Non-winners 2 (NW L3 3) or $25,000 life/Maidens draw inside Tricky race here where none of these have been exceptional and many have been shaky. (5) DUCHESSPEDIA comes off a break but did go a nice mile here a couple of starts back and might have a tactical edge due to her early speed. (8) MATERIAL GIRL raced evenly at Philly last time after missing three weeks of action. If Tetrick gets her in play she should be a big factor. (2) SOUKUP BLUE CHIP was disappointing in her NYSS but decent in the EBC. This is clearly a class drop but she is still winless in nine career starts. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Non-winners $10,500 in last 5/Opt. $25,000 Claiming - Survivor 7 (1) GOOD ROCKIN starts in consecutive weeks for the first time since May 1, which is a very good sign. He sprinted home last time in 25 4/5 and seems to be in a winning spot. (3) IMA REAL LADYS MAN has been coming up short lately. He's a good trip away from a trip to the winner's circle. (7) DE LOS CIELOS DEO picked up some confidence last time but is hardly a reliable sort. His best effort will win this race. Race 4: 3-Year-Old Fillies (1) BELLA BELLINI has yet to finish worse than second this year while tackling many of the best in this division via PA-sired races. I've always thought this Bar Hopping-sired youngster would be even better on the mile track and now we get to see it. (2) LADY CHAOS was one of the top 2-year-old filly trotters last year and while she hasn't set the world on fire yet, her connections might be waiting for the bigger events before letting her loose. (4) LOVE MUFFIN has big early speed and is more than capable of taking this field all the way on the engine. (6) DONNA SOPRANO was super in Canada last year and raced ok in her last start. That said, four weeks removed from her most recent race, I'll watch one. Race 5: $135,000 Crawford Farms Open Trot (4) MANCHEGO has been spectacular thus far and there is no reason to think her winning streak will end this week versus a short field. (1) FORBIDDEN TRADE was done in by a slow pace last time. I'm not sure he has been fully cranked yet but if he has another gear we'll likely see it tonight. (7) IT’S ACADEMIC is fast off the gate and ultra-consistent. He's dangerous if able to get away with a soft pace. Race 6: $160,000 Artiscape Mare Pace - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) JK FIRST LADY got a deserved three-week break after a tough mile at Philly and finished willingly last time from a tough spot. She moves to the inside of the gate now and should have the opportunity to pick up live cover or brush. (3) LYONS SENTINEL is in fine form and just needs to work out a reasonable trip to have a big shot. (7) ROCKNIFICENT has been taking steps in the right direction lately but still doesn't seem quite there yet. If she moves forward again, watch out! (5) KEEP ROCKIN A needs pace help to set up her late rally but is certainly dangerous if she gets it. Race 7: Non-winners $22,500 in last 5 or 11 races life (5) CATTLEWASH picked up his game in start two this year while losing by just a head to a gutsy Ruthless Hanover. Last year's fastest horse should be ready for a peak performance and rarely throws in a bad one. (4) ALLYWAG HANOVER has found himself over the last month but seems more trip dependent than the top pick who will likely be sitting first or second. (2) HIGHALATOR loves this track and you may get value on him in this spot; don't ignore him. Race 8: $113,000 Roll With Joe Open Pace - Pick 6 (4) THIS IS THE PLAN came up short last time but was coming off the fastest mile ever on a half and that could've taken a bit out of his tank. Assuming the price drifts up to a more respectable 2-1 or so, I'll be on board. (2) CAPTAIN BARBOSSA is a horse you have to love because he keeps chugging along no matter the circumstances. Any reasonable trip should get him in the picture at the wire. (7) CENTURY FARROH has big early speed to get into contention and the staying power to battle late. (6) WORKIN ONA MYSTERY has been just ok thus far in his first two starts back from a long break. On his best he is good enough to compete here. Race 9: $156,000 Joie De Vie Mare Trot (6) ATLANTA was superb in each of her qualifiers and certainly looked the part rolling to an easy win in her 2021 debut. She finds a field with plenty of early speed to set her up and no horse is better off a helmet. (1) HYPNOTIC AM showed some speed but was very content to sit in as the favorite last time when nothing was on the line. Going for $156,000 here you can expect to see Sears be more aggressive. (5) RAMONA HILL raced better than I expected in her first start of the year and is certainly capable of winning a race like this with the right trip. (2) AB'SATTITUDEXPRESS showed last week she can keep up in finish even in a fast mile. She has longshot appeal in the exotics. Race 10: $111,500 Roll With Joe Open Pace - $50K GTD Pick 4 (9) BACKSTREET SHADOW has been huge in his last two starts here and this looks like the softer division. Post 9 isn't ideal but he certainly has the early speed to gun out and get position. (3) WARRAWEE VITAL has proven time and again that he is capable of big miles and other than his most recent start things have gone very well. (2) STARS ALIGN A seems likely to push the envelope a bit more in terms of early speed this week and get better position late. Race 11: Non-winners $17,500 in last 5 or 9 races life (5) GET LEGS has been a horse I've avoided for a while, but he finally seems to have his act together with hobbles and appears ready to put forth a big effort. The post is perfect tonight! (9) BEADS is certainly the one to beat and his early speed means the outside post is irrelevant. (7) WESLYNN QUEST moves into a new barn and is worth a look on that angle alone. This mare has always hinted at talent and done some good things in her career. (10) LOVEDBYTHEMASSES is certainly up against it from post 10 but deserves a mention on the first-time Lasix addition. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 12: Winners 2-4 (NW L3 5) races or $50,000 life (4) BILLY CLYDE had absolutely no shot from post eight in the Messenger elimination and now takes a swing on the big track ahead of the Meadowlands Pace. After that easy mile I expect they'll be stretching him out here to see where they stand. (5) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH also was in a bad spot at Yonkers and gets his first taste of the mile track this year. This will be a good test for him. (3) SOMEWHEREINVERONA seems to be coming into form but he may need a trip to succeed. Race 13: Non-winners 2 (NW L3 3) races or $20,000 life/Maidens draw inside (3) ALWAYS B SWEET paced his final quarter last weekend in 25 1/5 with no shot from post 10. In an evenly-matched field on paper, I'll roll the dice at a price. (7) CURBSIDE PICKUP has displayed flashes of talent but seems to lack that killer instinct at the wire. (5) PRAYFORTHEWICKED has shown some signs of turning the corner in recent weeks. (4) FOREFATHER lured Andy McCarthy off my top pick as well as #1, so maybe he's expecting a big mile from this guy.
