MEET STATS: 112-32-24-17 / $203.70 (-$20.30) BEST BETS: 8-4-1-2 / $18.40 (+$2.40) SPOT PLAYS: 8-1-2-0 / $11.80 (-$4.20) BEST BET: PINEBUSHDRAGONROLL (4th) SPOT PLAY: PHELGON (3rd) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (1) HARRY HANOVER won’t make you want to run to the windows at 0-for-13 on the year but really does find a soft spot. Slendorn will likely have the pedal to the metal from the start and take this field as far as he can. (5) FINAL JUSTICE has done decent work from the inside of the gate lately. (10) STOLEN ART needs a bunch of pace help to get involved but I wouldn’t be shocked if he got it considering the blank nature of the field and the likelihood that many of these drivers will think they have a shot to win. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $10,000-$15,000 Claiming Handicap - Survivor 7 (1) APERTIF is a horse I simply don’t like because he seems to lose races he should win. That said, in terms of form and speed, he jumps off the page in this spot and shouldn’t have any issues beating this field. (4) BETTOR AT HIGHTIDE has been ultra-consistent while unable to visit the winner’s circle since January when he won three straight. Another exotic showing seems probable. (9) HURRYMIKI HANOVER chased through very fast fractions last week and that sucked everything out of him. Time-wise the effort was in line with previous good efforts. He can be a player in the exotics with a decent trip. Race 3: Trackmaster 72.5 (NW L2/2L4/2L8 73/73.5/74) or less Series/Opt. $7,500 Clm. (6) PHELGON wasn’t going anywhere from post 10 last time but was back to herself after a very poor effort two starts back. Six-year-old has good gate speed and an ability to pop a big mile. I think we’ll see both against this soft group. (4) PULL ME THROUGH got away mid-pack and really didn’t do anything wrong after that has she went an even mile. I have little hope on the win end for this gal but could see her getting into the number. (7) BLUEBIRD CRUSH seemed to stop when she clears the lead. Maybe Chisholm can time her move better or place her on the front to try different tactics. Race 4: Trackmaster 80 Final - Pick 6 (6) PINEBUSHDRAGONROLL has dominated this class in back to back starts. There is no reason to believe he will lose this week. (7) RAU RU tried to leave from post 10 last week but found company from half the field and never saw the pylons during the mile. He draws outside again but the shorter field likely helps his chances of a smoother trip. (3) AIR GUITAR rallied well last time. He’s good at waiting and pouncing when the pace scenario works out. Race 5: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club Trot (5) ZLATAN seems to have found renewed life with Pearly Allen driving in the amateur ranks. Veteran should come away in no worse than the pocket here. (7) DRAZZMATAZZ comes off a win at Philly and you know he’ll be leaving hard off the gate here to try to cut the mile. (1) ARCHIBALD and (3) BACARDI both come off steady miles while moving to the inside of the gate. With the right trip they could get a share. Race 6: Non-winners $7,500 (NW 2L5 $8,250) in last 4 or in 2024 - $50K GTD Pick 4 (5) CHURCHVIEWFRANKL IR returns to the big track after making a speed break on the third turn at Pocono while uncorking a strong move. There is no reason to believe the miscue will occur again. (8) AMMO caught a tough field last time and settled for a minor award. Former Breeders Crown winner should be primed for his best in start three on the year. (1) WHOLE LOTTA LOU is certainly sharp and capable given a decent trip. Race 7: Non-winners 2 (NW L2 3) races lifetime/Maidens draw inside (3) LOUNAR ECLIPSE has displayed signs of ability during his brief career and did sprint home nicely when last over this track. As a potential price play I’ll take a shot that the bigger track works to his advantage. (5) CAPTAIN BAZINGA finally gets away from some of the big boys in this division. He looks like the one to beat now but now a horse I want if the odds head down to even money or so. (6) THE DRAGON REBORN got crooked in the lane at Mohawk and that caused a break in stride. Let’s look for equipment changes here. Keep in mind that he won over this track by showing early speed a few starts back. Race 8: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (2) SWORD OFTHE SPIRIT chased home a 1-5 favorite last time, so there was no fame in finishing second. The inside post tonight should keep him in close attendance with a chance at a win. (5) KISSINBYTHEBEACHES rallied nicely last weekend for second behind (8) Thndrfrmthethron N as that foe bottomed-out the field. I think there is a chance we’ll see more from this guy in his second start since April 19. (10) YAYAS HOT SPOT N is down in class this week and seems likely to be firing away from the gate. (7) TYRONSBITOFLEMON N gets a barn change. Race 9: Trackmaster 84 (NW L2/2L4 84.5/85.35) or less (7) MISS CHANTILLY N dropped to this class last week. She was used to the front and got hounded on the lead in a narrow defeat. A slightly smoother journey could be all she needs to win. (6) ABSOLUTE POWER gunned off the gate last time and got shuffled with no late room to stretch her legs. She seemingly has a big shot in here but I worry the price will be too low because of the troubled trip last time. (4) DONTKARENIFIDO has a pair of wins in her last five starts in this class, so clearly she is capable. Race 10: Non-winners $14,000 (NW L2 $15,400) in last 4 or in 2024 or 8 races life - $50K GTD Pick 4 (6) VOUKEFALAS isn’t facing an easy field tonight but is clearly taking a giant step down the class ladder. He’s been raced with care week after week and the shackles have to come off here, don’t they? (2) JOEMIKIYOURSOFINE came up with the mile of his life last week in his second start of 2024. Perhaps as a 4-year-old he’s matured to a new level. (5) MAD MAX HANOVER seems to be getting sharper with every start, though it is hard to ignore that #2 beat him last time. (7) NICHOLAS BEACH has plenty of class and I liked the steady performance last time after a couple of months off. I wouldn’t be shocked if he won but this is not an easy spot. Race 11: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,500) in last 4/TM 80 (NW L2/2L4 80.5/81) or less (1) BB LUCKY BOY has been tackling foes which would be heavy favorites in this class. His current form is just ok at best but he should awaken in this spot. (8) BET A BUNDLE has put up two straight strong miles and boy does that 1:49 3/5 from May 25 jump off the page. (6) TWIN B SEAMONSTER has yet to miss the board in 2024. Race 12: Trackmaster 72.5 (NW L2/2L4/2L8 73/73.5/74) or less Series (4) HERS HUNGRY has been super the last couple of starts to the point where she’s likely the one to beat here. You won’t be 20-1 or higher but maybe 5-2 is feasible. (7) QUEEN SUN RYSER comes off an impressive victory but does lose Gingras since he is north of the border; very capable. (5) EA MUSHU has won two straight but certainly faces a slightly sharper field here. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Non-winners $2,000-$3,000 in last 4 (6) STRAIGHT TALK was used hard to get the front and wound up getting outgamed by (8) KOOTENAY SANTANNA late in the mile. Both merit serious consideration but I think the post shift may help the top pick. (5) DRAGON SAID comes to town from Freehold where he was racing well. Let’s see how he does in terms of speed on the big track. Race 14: Trackmaster 72 Final (3) VANDALISM was very sharp first-over in victory last weekend and anything close to that effort gets the job done here. (6) THATSWHATISAID N was used a bit to the front and rode a nice pocket trip to victory last time; clear threat if the top one falters at all. (8) BETTER THAN SOME struggled a bit on the rim but did keep trying in the lane and didn’t lose ground. I wonder if we see early speed from him this week.
