Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT, NW3/30000LT who are NW in their last 3 Starts Pace *$40K GTD Pick 5 Pool*
(10) SO RUDE clicked off a big mile in her qualifier and I will put on top even from post ten. She ws third in the New York Sire Stakes final last year and is now in the Bongiorno barn. (4) HIDDEN COVE also appeared in the NYSS final as a rookie and made a pair of Grand Circuit appearances at The Red Mile. She hasn't chartd a line since late April, but I think Erv Miller will have her tight for this one. (3) SOUND IDEA enjoyed a good enough freshman campaign to get into the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final and was second in a stakes race locally. She was in against much tougher in the qualifier, so I think that was a fine performance.
Race 2 - 3YO C&G NW1/7500LT Pace
(6) SPLASH BROTHER put in two very nice qualifiers up at Goshen Historic Track and now stretches out on the mile oval. Didn't find the winner's circle in 2019 but did end up fourth in the NY Sire Stakes final. (1) LOU'S SWEETREVENGE raced in several stakes contests as a freshman and came back with a nice qualifier down at Gaitway, rallying in the last quarter behind some talented ones. (3) TITO ROCKS was in several PA Sire Stakes races a season ago and returned with a sharp final quarter in his qualifier on the 30th of May. Draws a perfect post here to possibly stalk and pounce.
Race 3 - NW4/50000LT, NW5/60000LT who are NW in their last 3 Starts Pace
(5) CAVIART STETSON turned in a sub-1:50 mile for former trainer Brian Brown at The Red Mile last year and his local qualifiers for new trainer Andrew Harris both before and after the break have been good. (3) BETTER THAN SOME was a first-over winner in his qualifier at Gaitway and looks like he is ready off the bench for Cullipher. (7) THE MOONSHADOW N makes his U.S. debut tonight for Harder. Have to like the way he closed at Gaitway, and I expect him to be towing along and come with a late brush.
Race 4 - NW2/25000LT, NW3/30000LT who are NW in their last 3 Starts Pace
(5) SOMBODYITREASURE rallied and won his qualifier by open lengths at Gaitway. Got up for fourth in the PA Stallion Series final last year, so I think there's some talent here. Another one Harris appears to have set to go. (8) STIENAMS BEACH zipped right around the track to an easy win from post ten in his morning trial. He also has an age edge on many of the sophomores here as one of only two 4-year-olds. (7) WESTERN VACATION was a close second in a pair of stakes tries at Tioga during his rookie year and was the runner-up in his qualifier at Gaitway.
Race 5 - NW15000L5/Winners of NW12500 or Less in Last Start/50000CLM Pace
(7) ROCK THE DEVIL worked his way up to the open level last year at Yonkers. Liked the way he polished off his mile at Magical Acres, rallying to finish second to defending Meadowlands Pace champion Best In Show. Gets a new trainer in Nifty Norman and retained Dexter Dunn. (1) IDEAL FEELING rallied from way back to finish second at the Meadowlands before the track closed and then returned with a solid qualifier over the track. Was Tetrick's choice and should be in the hunt from the pole. (4) HARAMBE DEO is a tough horse to guess on, sometimes he flies home and wins, other times he hangs or doesn't have the same late kick. I will use underneath.
Race 6 - NW22500L5/Winners of NW17500 in Last Start Pace *$50K GTD Pick 4 Pool*
(4) WESTERN JOE has plenty of back-class to call on when he needs it and enters this race off a sharp gate-to-wire win in his qualifier at Magical Acres. (3) SKYWAY QUINTON turned in some good miles both here at the Meadowlands and over at Yonkers when sent east to Travis Alexander in the past. (7) ALLUNEEDISFAITH N flattened out some late in the mile in his qualifier, but it was still a sub-1:51 performance. I think he'll come with a late kick from off-the-pace.
Race 7 - NW15000L5/Winners of NW12500 or Less in Last Start/50000CLM Trot
(3) KENZIESKY HANOVER retained Callahan's driving services over two others in here, so I'll let that decision guide me and put her on top. She was competitive at this level prior to the break in racing and came back with a good-enough qualifier behind the likes of Manchego. (5) OBERTO did some nice work in the NW6 class this winter and gained ground through the last quarter in his morning trial at Gaitway. Loses Callahan but lands Dexter Dunn. (10) TOP FLIGHT ANGEL normally goes forward, so I think he'll be doing that even from post ten. Finished ahead of Oberto in their common qualifier at Gaitway.
Race 8 - NW15000L5/Winners of NW12500 or Less in Last Start/50000CLM Pace
(7) THE BETTORMACK N paced a strong last panel in the qualifier on the 30th and meets up with the right kind of group tonight to make an immediate impact in his U.S. debut. (5) BIG BAD BILL was victorious locally last fall and was victorious in his qualifier at Goshen Historic Track. He's probably better from off-the-pace than on the lead based on his history, and I think he should get that trip tonight. (6) GRIFFON HANVOER is another horse who has found the winner's circle at the Meadowlands before, and I think he can be used underneath.
Race 9 - Preferred Pace
(7) NONE BETTOR A was victorious in his lone pari-mutuel try before racing ceased and came back just as tight in his qualifier. Has Tetrick's services now, and I expect him to be on or near the lead. (4) RODEO ROCK has beaten the preferreds at the Meadowlands before and paced a strong final quarter in the qualifier. (1) SHNITZLEDOSOMETHIN cut the mile and then battled back to win his morning trial. Horse took his life's mark at the Meadowlands last year and Dylan Davis is always capable of having one ready for a big mile.
Race 10 - Open Pace *$40K GTD Pick 4 Pool*
(4) BECHERS BROOK A sat in and then stormed home to take his qualifier impressively. He won at the Meadowlands back in February, and although Tetrick went elsewhere, I don't have any issue with him picking up Gingras. (8) SAN DOMINO A gives Andrew Harris a nice one-two punch in these high-level races to go with None Bettor A. This guy took a preferred at the Meadowlands in December of last year and was Tetrick's choice. (3) REBELLIOUS is riding a lengthy winning streak coming into this race and kept his form from Pompano judging by that Tioga qualifier. He did win here at the Meadowlands in October 2019.
Race 11 - NW10000L5/Winners of NW8000 or Less Last Start/30000CLM Pace
(3) WILD GOOSE CHASE posted a win at The Big M last December, so he has some positive history here, and that was a nice final quarter in the qualifier behind better horses that he meets up with tonight. I'll hope for some value. (8) PERSIMMON A was second to Bechers Brook A in the qualifier, so maybe give this horse an extra look if Bechers Brook wins in the open. (6) BACKSTREET LAWYER earned a sub-1:50 mark at the Meadowlands a year ago and ships east for trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. Not sure what happened in the first qualifier at Scioto, but the second one was quite good.
Race 12 - Winners of 4 but not 7 PM Races/75000LT Pace
(3) SHAMWOW made plenty of noise as one of the best 3-year-olds in the Indiana Sires Stakes program in 2019 and raced well in a couple of Grand Circuit tries out there also. He's come east this year into the Jim King Jr. barn and was probably in the toughest qualifier of any that have gone at the Meadowlands so far. Give him the nod. (8) AFLAME HANOVER battled the top sophomore pacing colts throughout last season and made over $250,000. Qualified sharply behind Hurrikane Emperor in the same dash my top selection comes out of. (2) RESPECT OUR FLAG is a multi-time winner at The Big M and held sway over San Domino A in the qualifier at Gaitway. He should get plenty of attention from the bettors.
Race 13 - NW7500L5/Winners of NW6000 or Less Last Start Pace
(5) DA MAGICIAN switches pilots to Marcus Miller after being qualified by trainer Mark Silva at Gaitway. He was quite competitive back in the winter against slightly better, and I'll give him a shot. (8) HIGHRTHANANEAGLE A is making his U.S. debut tonight after winning a qualifier at Pocono before racing stopped and then nicely at the Meadowlands on May 30. I think he'll probably be the favorite. (1) MR D'S DRAGON cut the fractions and was second in his Gaitway qualifier. I'll expect Gingras to be aggressive with him from the pole.
