MEET STATS: 70-19-18-11 / $146.20 (+$6.20) BEST BETS: 5-2-0-2 / $5.80 (-$4.20) SPOT PLAYS: 5-0-2-0 / $0.00 (-$10.00) BEST BET: STELLAR YANKEE (7th) SPOT PLAY: BLOOD MOON A (11th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 2 Pace - Pick 5 (7) EL YERNO has been overmatched of late while getting caught in a pair of sub 1:50 miles. He lands in a much better spot tonight and certainly owns the best closing kick of the group. (4) MUSCLE FACTORY A took some air and couldn’t sustain last week. I can see Yogi trying to hustle him to the lead early tonight. (8) WHAMMER JAMMER came to life last time after a couple of dull miles and a scratched-sick line; needs pace help. (6) ROCK ON LINE has hit the board in most of his recent starts. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 83.25 (NW L2/2L4/L8 84/84.5/84.75) or less - Survivor 7 (1) HUNT FOR CASH put in his best mile since the claim by Sodano when he was parked past the opening quarter in 26 1/5 and held reasonably well late. The inside post should allow him to sit close to the pace. (8) RIVER NESS came up second best when a first-time Lasix horse powered home like Niatross to gobble him up. He deserves another chance tonight. (6) DIVINE RIGHT was pushed by the top pick and actually beat that foe. With 32 seconds and thirds versus eight career wins, I like him underneath more. Race 3: Non-winners $7,500 (NW 2L5 $8,946) in last 4 (6) STONEBRIDGE REEF has been keeping better company as the powerful Oakwood Ardan got the win in each of his last two starts. This looks like a spot where Dunn will get aggressive. (1) BB LUCKY BOY was a good second in 1:49 2/5 the last time he raced in this condition. (7) FULTON has big earnings and some class but is unproven as an older horse; worthwhile option at 4-1 or higher. Race 4: Trackmaster 72 (NW L2/2L4 72.5/73) or less Series/Opt. $7,500 Clm. - Pick 6 (5) HELLO ROCKY gets some serious class relief as he drops back to the level of his last two wins. (7) THATSWHATISAID N is also catching an easier group than he faced last time; early speed again? (1) LACHIE MAGUIRE N isn’t overly consistent now at age 14 but is still capable with the right trip against a field like this one. Race 5: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace (3) JUST A ROCKET MAN has good early speed and figures to put it to good use dropping into an amateur race. (8) WAY TO CLOSE comes off a tough trip where he never saw the pylons. Things have to be smoother this time. (4) FERDINAND A woke up with a big mile last time and is certainly capable of stringing together wins. Race 6: $240K NJ Sire Stakes 3YO Filly Pace Final - $50K GTD Pick 4 (8) ODDS ON STENO has taken care of business easily enough in both preliminary legs and it is difficult to imagine things will change tonight. (7) PULP FICTION and (1) QUICK FIRE have been chasing the top one home the last two starts and they are likely looking at a similar fate here unless they can find more in the tank. Race 7: Non-winners $5,000 (NW1 since 2/17 $5,851) in last 4 (4) STELLAR YANKEE ran into a rejuvenated Mad Max Hanover last week. This is the softest field he has seen in a while. (3) LOORRIM LAKE A returns from Yonkers while taking a pretty nice class drop. (8) BOUNTY HUNTER displayed some ability as a 4-year-old. Is he ready off the bench? I wouldn’t be shocked. Race 8: Non-winners $14,000 in last 4 or 10 races life/TM 88.5 or less - Pick 5 (3) VALAR DOHAERIS got a very useful tightener last week while kicking home in a swift 26 1/5. Five-year-old has seen some success and lands in a good spot to shine at a nice price given a decent trip. (5) BEACH COWGIRL is clearly going to the front and that could give her a tactical edge. (8) CAVIART BELLE rolled quite impressively in her 2024 debut and deserves to be the favorite here. Maybe she’s simply a monster but I don’t see her as unbeatable yet. (6) ODDS ON HAIL MARY had a nice year in 2023 and should be better with the start under her belt. Race 9: Non-winners $14,000 (NW L2 $15,400) in last 4/TM 89.5 (NW L2/2L4 90/90.5) or less (4) MIRAGE HANOVER sprinted home in an insane 25 1/5 to win his 3-year-old debut race. I expect he’ll be raced from off the pace again but there is ample early speed in here to set him up. (1) CHURCHVIEWFRANKL IR freaked with Lasix added to the equation last weekend. Is he simply this good now? (10) BATTLEFIELD has early speed and plenty of form. I find it hard to believe he’s going to overcome post 10 but an on the board spot seems very likely. (9) LYONS STEEL drops back down after two unsuccessful tries versus Open types. Race 10: $240K NJ Sire Stakes 3YO C&G Pace Final - $50K GTD Pick 4 (4) BONAPARTE looked like a different horse last week with Lasix added and it is worth noting he was in tight through the lane. I’m not sure if he is this good but we’ll find out here. (1) MR THREE O FIVE sat off a slow pace and came home as quickly as he could to no avail. Lazarus-sired colt is another one who I’m unsure of in terms of talent but might be this good. (2) BETTER IS NICE has also been trying to come from behind after chasing slow fractions but I’m a bit more disappointed in his efforts; mixed feelings. (6) ENDOFSTORY owns two wins in two NJSS starts. I imagine the going will be tougher here with the big money on the line. Race 11: Trackmaster 84 (NW L2/2L4/4YO 84.5/85.35/86) or less (5) BLOOD MOON A seemingly didn’t fire with Lasix added last time. To my eye there may’ve been more left in the tank but there was no chance of getting a good check. There could be hidden value here. (1) ABSOLUTE POWER gets the same class drop as the top pick and is being sent out for a barn that has won three of its last six races. (8) AVF CLAIRE qualified back well and already owns a win and a second over the track. Race 12: Winners 1-2 races life/Maidens draw inside (10) CAPTAIN LUKE raced very well to be second in his 2024 debut. Post 10 isn’t ideal but considering this will likely be his final prep before the North America Cup, I expect he’ll be put in play. (6) REMEMBER THE ALAMO seems to be a step behind his stablemate right now but certainly could improve with the effort last week under his belt. (7) THE NUMBER CRUNCHER was called Erv Miller’s top 3yo by driver Scott Zeron and he landed on the top pick, so that says something. I’d be willing to excuse the break last time on the sloppy track at Pocono. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Trackmaster 80 (NW L2/2L4 80.5/81.2) or less Series (7) KYLES ART ships down from Canada where he was racing well and showed some versatility. I’ll take a shot with him in a short field. (2) BUCKEYE EMERY has early speed and plenty of good form. (1) PARKLANE TERROR won in this Trackmaster condition two starts back. Race 14: Non-winners $2,000 (NW 2024 $2,275) in last 4/NW3000L4 draw outside (9) BOBCAT BAY double-drops in class and I expect he’ll wake up in a big way. (1) INTEREST FREE A has been stuck in outside posts and sprinting home with no shot lately. The move inside could keep him closer to the front. (7) FULSOME takes the same drop in company as the top pick and as such deserves some respect.
