CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 56-16-15-3 / $99.10 (-$12.90) BEST BETS: 3-2-0-0 / $6.00 (-$2.00) SPOT PLAYS: 4-0-2-1 / $0.00 (-$8.00) BEST BET: NEVER SAY DIE (13th) SPOT PLAY: AMERICAN POWER (9th) Race 1: Trackmaster 68 Final - Pick 5 This is perhaps the best TM68 race ever offered here, so I would say offering the race as a series produced the desired effect. (5) SCANDIA HANNIBAL was hung out every step of the mile last week and held his ground well considering the difficult journey. Four-year-old really took a step forward in that start for the new trainer and should offer fair value in here. (4) SPARTACUS BLUECHIP was used to the front and while he won by a diminishing margin, I believe they could’ve gone around again and he would’ve won. (6) SAND SNIPER owns a faster time than the other two divisions but did it five hours earlier in different conditions. (2) SERGEANT WALT was parked with cover behind the top pick and just missed last time; another win player. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less (1) A LITTLE KICK was up against it versus better from post 10 last time. Three-year-old drosp back down and draws a much better post. (5) KNOCKIN OUT also drops and more importantly should be sharper in his second start back from more than four months on the sidelines; could be value. (2) MARSHALL ZHUKOV has the early speed to stick close from his inside post and might be in a winning position; has form. Race 3: $48K Garden State 3YO Filly Trot - Pick 6 (3) SUGAR PACKET chased a sharp 4-year-old Camera Man in what was a nice turnaround mile last time after a shaky debut. She’s back in against her own kind and could be placed on the engine as others take a more patient approach. (4) MADAM CHEVAL finished sharply in her latest qualifier and may’ve become a better horse over the winter. (8) EMMAS MYSERY CCL showed she is a very talented filly in 2025 and has done nothing to toss that notion aside. Post is the only issue. Race 4: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2 76.5) or less (6) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING has found a home in this class with back-to-back second-place finishes. 14-year-old may not have a win on the year must he’s going to get it done sooner or later. (3) FIZZING N and (2) DUDIE’S LOR are both moving down the Trackmaster class ladder and either is capable of perking up. Race 5: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,301) in last 5/TM 84 or less (3) AMERICAN SON was super here in his 4-year-old debut before going nowhere in Kentucky from outside posts. Leaving the Bluegrass means Lasix is back on the menu and perhaps this guy will reawaken. (6) CAPTAIN CRUSADER A gets some needed class relief this week and hopefully he’ll be kept in striking range while getting a decent pace to chase. (4) ALWAYS B GIBBY has been doing a good job of late, but I prefer him underneath against this field. (8) COURTS ON FIRE raced well in his first start of the year and could improve with that effort under his belt. Race 6: Trackmaster 77.5 (NW L2/L5 79.5/80.92) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (6) SERIOUSLY HANOVER was super in the amateur ranks to kick off his tenure in this barn. Nine-year-old has some class and can certainly repeat. (2) GLOWING LOU was used early and came up short late in his debut for this barn after missing six weeks; can be sharper now. (3) LYONS LIBERTY gets a better post to work with now and should bring a credible effort; Herschberger’s choice over #6. Race 7: Trackmaster 80.5 (NW L2 82.75) or less I don’t really have a strong opinion here so I’ll land on a horse I’ve been waiting for in (7) STOP THE SHOOTIN’. He gets a class drop tonight and reunites with Kelly, who drove him to his last win. (5) HUNGRYHUNGRY HIPPO was outfinished last time but does own a recent win in this class. (1) LOVENBURY rarely misses an opportunity to hit the exotics lately. (3) CRUSH KILL DESTROY has early speed and decent form, even if he hasn’t won here in like 17 starts. Race 8: $45K Garden State 3YO Filly Trot - Pick 5 (5) LEADING LADY doesn’t have the most fluid way of travelling but it certainly works for her as she’s looked great in two qualifiers and displayed a nice turn of speed. This is a good-looking group but one I give her the slight edge against. (1) DIAMOND BAY is perfect in two starts this year; respect. (7) GLAM and (3) ISABELLA BI both hails from the Svanstedt barn and both proved very game in their lone qualifiers. Race 9: $45K Garden State 3YO C&G Trot I’ve been waiting a few weeks for (1) AMERICAN POWER to make his debut. Impeccably bred 3-year-old from the pairing of Walner and Ariana G was asked a couple of times in the lane and absolutely hit full flight while catching Breeders Crown winner and Oak Grove Derby finalist Spencer Hanover at the wire. This isn’t an easy field but I’m on board with this colt until proven he isn’t oozing with talent. (3) SOUTHWIND ALAMO raced well to be second in the Dexter Cup and off that mile he’s probably the one to beat. (1) SOUTHWIND FARGO chased slow fractions and sprinted home; threat on best. (2) GABES LUCK was kept under a hold away from the gate and never let loose in his qualifier. There could be ability here. Race 10: $150K Arthur J. Cutler Memorial Open Trot - $50K GTD Pick 4 (3) PERICULUM was at his best early in the year back in 2025 and won the Cutler off one qualifier. Here he lands a good post in a field with plenty of pace to chase. He should get a sweet setup. (8) LEXUS KODY raced well in his first start of the year and should move forward a bit off that mile; very dangerous. (7) FRENCH WINE blew out a nice qualifier to prepare for tonight and I don’t think anyone would be shocked if he won. Race 11: $20,000-$25,000 Claiming Handicap (2) SEASIDEESCAPE was hindered by post 10 last week. He’s very comfortable at this claiming level and should be handled aggressively. (1) ALABAMAJAMMA has raced well since moving into this barn. I’d expect him to be leaving hard as well to score a close-up trip. (5) REAL WILLEY has claimbed the claiming ladder rather easily; another one with early speed in his arsenal. (3) SAULSBROOK RAPTOR is down in claiming price and wouldn’t be a surprise here. Race 12: Trackmaster 83.5 (NW L2 85.6) or less (6) BEST CHIP may be taking a big step up in class on paper but has all the things I like in a price play. He’s sharp, won his race down in class by open lengths and was one of the fastest winners that night. (3) HIRANYA N rolled down the road from post nine in his last appearance in this class; big threat. (4) CENTURY HEINEKEN is off a second in this condition and he’s been solid in every start this year. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: $42K Garden State 3YO C&G Trot This looks like the softer of the two divisions by a fair margin and (5) NEVER SAY DIE gets our top call. He displayed early speed, got shuffled to third and finished willingly in traffic in his first start of the year versus older foes. This looks like a better spot. (2) NORDIC DANCER S posted a credible mile to start his season in the Dexter Cup and is eligible to move forward off that mile. (4) SOUTHWIND GALLATIN HAS NEVER TASTED DEFEAT BUT HAS ALSO ONLY RACED ONCE. This is a good test of his ability. Race 14: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2/L4 69/70) or less (3) PARKLANE TERROR drops out of the amateur ranks and lands in his comfort zone for the first time in a long time. He’s no lock but should be very competitive. (7) THE BIG RAGOO certainly has the early speed to get in play and while he only finished fourth, he did lose a three-horse photo at the wire and could easily have been second. (1) TAKARA STING has raced pretty well in this class with a pair of recent thirds. (6) SOCIAL THEORIES returns from 33 days on the sidelines for a new barn; could awaken.
