WINTER MEET STATS: 351-89-66-45 / $565.20 (-$136.80) BEST BETS: 25-11-4-3 / $37.00 (-$13.00) SPOT PLAYS: 24-8-7-4 / $61.60 (+$13.60) BEST BET: BOOKIE J (8th) SPOT PLAY: LOU’S RODEO (2nd) Race 1: Trackmaster 68 (NW L4 69) or less - Pick 5 (5) PACK YOUR BAGS gets a huge driver change to Gingras tonight and I’m sure he’ll try to shake him up. In a field that sports an 0-for-74 record, that angle is as good as any. (8) COLT FOURTY ONE finished second in this class last week in start one for this barn. That finish makes him the most formful in the field. (3) ROCKIN ROGER should be able to get to the front easily enough; hangs on for an exotics share? [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less (5) LOU’S RODEO was sold August of last year and given plenty of time over the winter to become his best self. It is worth noting that he was a $110K purchase as a yearling and is a full brother to Railroad Station (1:49 3/5, $345K). The return effort was a solid win and he doesn’t exactly face any killers here. Dauplaise driving adds to the price. (7) JONAH gets a new driver and this guy is certainly capable on his best. I might throw him on some Pick 5 tickets. (4) OUR CORELLI N picked up Bartlett last time and he put the horse in play. The result was a solid mile; moves inside now. Race 3: NJ Home Grown 3YO C&G Pace - Pick 6 (3) ROCKNACIOUS displayed some raw speed as a 2-year-old but was never able to put it all together. I doubt he has turned into something special over the winter but this is a good starting point. Don’t hold that last qualifier against him as the field was very strong. (4) AZRAEL BLUE CHIP looks like the horse to beat off those November lines here. I might’ve picked him if I was able to watch the qualifier replays at Oak Grove but unfortunately they don’t make them available. (2) OBLITERATE picked up some confidence at Philly; more now? Race 4: Non-winners $2,500 (NW L2 $3,000) in last 5 (4) MAD RIVER did a good job to close from seventh to third during the faster quarter of the race last Saturday. Moving to the middle of the gate and with a couple of starts under his belt now, I have to think we’ll see a big mile. (1) STOP THE SHOOTIN’ gets a double drop in class and almost has to awaken, right? (6) MARLBANK ROAD took the same class drop last week and raced well to be second behind a well-rated winner; contender. Race 5: NJ Home Grown 3YO Filly Pace (2) CAR KEYS hardly set the world on fire as a 2-year-old but did hint at ability and there is certainly a strong possibility that she’s a better horse now. Let’s give her the narrow call over (3) LADYSASSIN, who beat up on easier to start her season at Plainridge  and could be in the best strategic spot tonight in a short field that seems to lack much early zip. (6) SUNNY STATION has shown she can sprint home with blazing speed when on her game. Race 6: $20,000-$25,000 Claiming Handicap - $50K GTD Pick 4 (3) SEASIDEESCAPE drops in for a claiming tag and gets a much better post to work with tonight. He should be pushing away in a field loaded with potential early speed and hopefully lining up behind the super-sharp (7) BB LUCKY BOY. The latter has been on the lead in every race this year except two. We know the plan and he’ll take them a very long way. (6) GALLIE GETAWAY is another sharp horse, one that hasn’t been worse than second in quite some time. (4) ROCKME ROLLME gets post relief and a new driver; capable. Race 7: Trackmaster 80.5 (NW L2 82.75) or less (4) HALF PAST MIDNIGHT was pushed on the lead last time while parking out (7) LOUIS LITT N and ultimately faded slightly to fourth. Whether he elects to be placed on or off the pace this week, the trip should be smoother. The latter can’t get a worse trip than the last one and the start prior he was stuck in post nine from a difficult spot. He can be a player with any decent trip. (6) MANSERTIVE is one of those horses who wins and then you shake your head wondering why you didn’t use him; upset chance. (5) SEEYOU AT THEBEACH picks up a catch driver this time; another contender. (3) WARRAWEE YANKEE has form and now adds Boyd to the team; he can win too. Race 8: NJ Home Grown 3YO C&G Pace - Pick 5 (2) BOOKIE J was very impressive as he came first over and edged past for the 1:51 2/5 win in his 2026 debut. That mile would be good enough and if he improves, watch out! (3) THISBEESTINGS DEO finally got into the win column with a 1:51 victory at Pocono last time. That score may build some confidence. (6) BE STING bested the top pick in their mutuel qualifier on April 11 and we’ve seen this guy drop some big miles in the past. I can’t fault anyone who feels maybe he’s the horse to beat. Race 9: Non-winners $15,000 (NW L2 $16,500) in last 5 or 10 (NW L2 11) races-$100K life/TM 90.20 (NW L2 91) or less (5) CAPTAIN CRUSADER A has legitimate excuses for not being involved in his last two starts, including a very soft pace last time when his 25-second final quarter helped him pick off only two horses. I think he may be sharper than it seems and we have an opportunity here to score at a big price. (3) SOUTHWIND GENDRY has come to form and was very game on the engine last time. He’ll certainly be put in play again this week. (8) SABA ROCK raced well off the bench and could be pushed harder early now that he has a race under his belt. Race 10: Non-winners $10,500 (NW L2 $12,500) in last 5 or 8 (NW L2 9) races life/TM 86 (NW L2 90) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) RAILROAD STATION was a solid third in his return qualifier behind a horse that posted a 1:49 mile in his next pari-mutuel start and another who won in 1:52 2/5 after the mile. Four-year-old displayed some talent at age 3 and seems ready for life as an older horse. (8) SUGAR MAN is another new 4-year-old but he was facing older foes on the regular back in November and December. It is worth noting that he was never shown daylight in his return qualifier and appeared to have something left; Pick 4 must-use. (1) TYPHOON BANNER N hasn’t tossed in a bad effort in quite some time. Race 11: NJ Home Grown 3YO Filly Pace (5) SHE STINGS flashed speed at both ends of the mile to just miss in her debut for this barn and rolled down the road last time at Philly. She lands in what looks like the easier of the two divisions and has a big win shot. (2) DARLIN’S ANGEL was very much stretched out in her last qualifier to prepare for this event. She’s clearly the main danger. (4) GONNA BE A STAR has won three straight including one over this track. We’ll find out how good she is tonight. Race 12: Trackmaster 83.5 (NW L2 85.5) or less I’m choosing to look at (2) BIG EGO’s last race as simply a bad day. His prior efforts are fine and none of these really jumps off the page for me. (6) EUPHORIA N got caught in a bad spot last time as a superior foe got away with soft fractions and dominated. 10-year-old could be setting the pace in this event. (4) ALWAYS B GIBBY steps up off a very easy score. Some people will gravitate to that mile. I’m on the fence. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Trackmaster 68 (NW L4 69) or less (8) SERGEANT WALT was very good late last time from an impossible spot. This guy has a stellar record in this class and hopefully will be put in play tonight. (6) A LITTLE KICK was stuck in traffic between foes and another horse got the jump on him last weekend. He’s a contender here, especially if they mix it up on the engine. (4) MOONWARDS HANOVER has big early speed and will certainly put it on display in this spot; using underneath only. (9) STONE COLD SAVAGE has won his last two starts in this class and you may actually get good value on him at the windows; Pick 4 worthy. Race 14: Trackmaster 74.5 Final (7) ARTIST BEST wasn’t going to get a check far after chasing a soft pace last time. While it is clear that (8) GALANTE A is the horse to beat and looks like a legitimate 3-5 shot on paper, with more money on the line in this Final and some other early speed players signed on, maybe things can set up right for my capable top pick. (3) GAZOO is another horse who could step up and he seems to be getting sharper with each start this year. (1) TRICKY CAPTAIN N must’ve choked down or something to stop like that last week. He can rebound.
