WINTER MEET STATS: 183-42-30-28 / $311.60 (-$54.40) BEST BETS: 13-6-3-1 / $23.60 (-$2.40) SPOT PLAYS: 13-4-2-4 / $36.00 (+$10.00) BEST BET: VANDIEMEN BLUECHIP (9th) SPOT PLAY: ART OF REVENGE (12th) Race 1: $10,000-$12,500 Claiming Handicap - Pick 5 (9) DANCING LEW sheds $2,500 off his claiming tag in search of a spot where his connections can take advantage of his good current form. He’s stuck outside on the gate but has the speed to overcome and a driver that isn’t shy about firing out. (7) BIG JACK HAMMER should be firing off the gate as well and his last two efforts have been good. (5) IDIOSYNCRATIC took the money and improved on the class drop last weekend; clear factor. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 68 (NW L4 69) or less (6) CAPTAIN CARTER took a shot first-over in the women’s race last weekend and couldn’t make any headway. Driver change this week as this gelding drops to a level where he is perfect in two career starts. (1) CARSON STAR CHOICE was super in his last three starts yet may offer great value here following a qualifier where he broke twice with a new driver from Down Under getting the assignment. (3) SERGEANT WALT was a winner in his last start in this class two back. Race 3: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 2 Pace - Pick 8 (10) GOOD ROCKIN enters a new barn, one that has done very well in these amateur races. The post isn’t ideal and it is hard to argue that he’s sharp, but he has the ability to run over this field and you are going to get rewarded with a good price if he does. If you wait a week and he closes well for second or third the reward will be favoritism. (3) BEACH VIBES improved when switched to this class last time and now he gets to move to the inside of the gate; expecting a top effort. (4) PALOMAR bested a field he was supposed to beat last time. This group is tougher but still in his wheelhouse. (8) LOUIS LITT N fired out to be second against many of these a week ago; clear contender. Race 4: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2 76.5) or less Do you feel lucky? If so, (7) RILKOFF is your horse. He’s made breaks in consecutive starts, though the last one it was clearly coming and the driver didn’t take hold to calm the situation as I would’ve expected. The return qualifier was good and if he behaves, he likely wins. (4) SONO CONFUSO missed a neck in this class last time and won the start prior. (1) LOU ON THE BEACH gets some much needed post relief. Don’t be surprised if he wakes up with a better performance. (2) ROCK JAGGER has been right there each week; using underneath. Race 5: Winners 2-4 (NW L2 5) races or $50,500 (NW L2 $60,000) life (4) LASER SPEED came back from a three-month layoff and blitzed a similar field with a two-move 1:49 4/5 monster performance. It is difficult to pick against him. (6) DOWNBYTHEWATER was good enough to make it to the Ohio Sire Stakes final last year, so there is talent here. Two qualifiers for his return is a plus and his most recent was a very nice performance. (3) AYR DAVE GB made an equipment change and dropped a ton of time versus a much softer group; tested tonight. (9) CONFEDERATESTAR N was stuck in some traffic and then couldn’t make up ground when it was too late to menace. That was his first start on these shores and first since November, so maybe improvement is coming at a big price. Race 6: $20,000-$25,000 Claiming Handicap - $50K GTD Pick 4 (3) ROCKME ROLLME is the one horse stepping up in company but he’s also landing in a great position where Herschberger can leave the gate and likely sit a great pocket trip. He’s certainly not outclassed with these. (7) FOUR BY FOUR went a gigantic first-over mile to just miss the win to (5) CAPTAIN UP off a perfect pocket trip. Certainly both horses have a big chance in this spot, with the former held back only by his winless barn and the latter by the uncertainty of how he’ll do if he has to set the pace. (6) KOMODO BEACH was much better last week and if the trip works out right I wouldn’t be shocked by a win. Race 7: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $6,051) in last 5 or $1,495 p/s in 2025-26 (2) ROCKIN ON VENUS took a shot first-over and held his ground nicely last weekend. He should offer fair value again and is as good as any in a field without a clear standout. (5) STAY GROUNDED gets a double class drop and while he isn’t a lock, he does have multiple wins in this class on his record from 2025. (7) DON’T DROP THE BALL didn’t do anything wrong last week but wasn’t exactly dynamic either. I’d play him as long as the price stayed 5-2 or higher. Race 8: Trackmaster 80.5 (NW L2 82.75) or less - Pick 6 (10) EXPEDITED SERVICE was a winner three starts back from post 10 in this class and then couldn’t quite handle tougher foes the last two starts. There is no reason to believe he won’t be firing out on the class drop. (8) HURRIKANE CHEYENNE is another that should be on the go early. He raced very well for third in his debut for this barn. (2) MANSERTIVE is going to be patient and he could get a decent piece with a clean trip. (5) POMPEO HANOVER drops and could awaken. Race 9: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,250) in last 4 (2) VANDIEMEN BLUECHIP has a nice steady start under his belt now after taking a few months off. Class drop likely means we are going to get a very aggressive drive. (7) FOR ONCE INMY LIFE is the one to beat on paper. He’s been used too hard early lately and has come up just shy on the wire. (6) IGNATIUS A gets class relief but is far from a lock in this condition. I’d demand some value if you like him. Race 10: Trackmaster 90 or less/NW $5,000 p/s in 2025-26 or $19,741 in last 5 or 8 races life - $50K GTD Pick 4 (8) CAPTAIN CRUSADER A was a killer when last seen in this class back in December and judging by the qualifiers I’m guessing he just hasn’t been able to find a race. That he’s missed time and lost his qualifier to #6 could improve the price. It is worth noting that he was never asked for speed in the stretch during the 26 2/5 final quarter. (5) WORLD OF WISHES came to play in his 4-year-old debut and certainly deserves respect. (6) COPPERFIELD sprinted home in 25 2/5 to win his comeback qualifier over the top pick. Beckwith did choose here over that one as well. I’d want 5-1 or higher to try him on top and I don’t know if that is possible. Race 11: Trackmaster 77.5 (NW L2 79.5) or less (4) NATIONAL SPORT finally moves more to the middle/inside of the gate after being stuck outside for a number of starts. Best of all, outside of (3) BRON TO DANCE he doesn’t face much resistance on his road to the top. The latter is a sharp horse moving into a decent barn. He should be put in play and sit second or third. (6) DUNSAN HARRY is a capable horse on the win end given the right pace setup. Race 12: $40,000-$60,000 Claiming Handicap (1) ART OF REVENGE has been decent in his first two starts for Burke and only races this year. Now they see fit to bring him to the big track and perhaps that unlocks more potential. His one career start on a mile track was a solid second timed in 1:49 2/5 behind a millionaire earner. (3) SUN OF A SHOW improved last time and I expect we’ll see a more aggressive approach this week. (7) TYPHOON BANNER N won in this class last week and certainly has a big shot again. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less (4) RANZAR raced well in his first start for this barn and then had no chance from post eight at Pocono last time. He could be a sneaky play in this spot versus a field without a clear standout. (5) HALF PAST MIDNIGHT closed from Hoboken to just miss by a nose last week and now has finished second in four of his last five starts; clear contender. (3) EXTORTION makes his second start off the bench and also drops in class. That said, he was just 1 for 23 in 2025. Race 14: Trackmaster 68 (NW L4 69) or less (6) ROCKIN ROGER sat off a very fast pace for the class, found some stretch traffic and really never had a fair chance of success. Now in start two for this barn and facing a dull field, perhaps we can get a nice price. (2) ROCKABILLY CHARM loves this class but got an awful setup last weekend, having to chase a fast pace after being used to the front. The trip should be easier this time around. (7) MOONWARDS HANOVER is capable from on or off the pace given the right journey.
