Meadowlands: Analysis for Saturday 12/19

MEET STATS: 208-54-31-26 / $386.40 (-$29.60)
BEST BETS: 15-8-1-3 / $27.40 (-$2.60)
BEST BET: IMA REAL LADYS MAN (9th)
SPOT PLAY: IN A SINGLE BOUND (3rd)
Race 1: Non-winners $4,500 in last 5 - $50K GTD Pick 5
(2) SWAGASAURUSREX hasn't been very good in his last two but has been stuck in some fast miles. Class drop here for a good barn could produce a new result. (10) FABRICE HANOVER has the early speed to beat the post and this barn had a couple of winners last weekend. (7) BABES DIG ME has some class and raced well off the bench; more now?

Race 2: Trackmaster Rating 73 or less
(6) GRANDPA DON won his last two starts in this class from worse posts with a lesser driver in the bike. This race clearly goes through him, though his lack of early speed could be an issue. (7) NOTORIOUS gets a barn and driver change tonight. Silva is good at waking up horses. (5) WINDSONG GORGEOUS is a classy veteran who at 13 has seen better days. That said, his early speed could make him a player. (8) SHARKNADO raced well in this class last time but the outside post hurts.

Race 3: Non-winners $2,500 in last 5/TM Rating 73 or less - Survivor 7
In a race with plenty of shippers, (3) IN A SINGLE BOUND comes down from Saratoga and finds the best spot he has seen in some time. Six-year-old has class and should be live. (5) ROCK N TONY comes out of the same class as the top pick and was racing two classes higher when last here. (1) JO PAS'S SWEET LOU gets a condition switch this week that should help his cause.
Race 4: $12,500/$15,000 Claiming Handicap
(4) SHATTERED GLASS is back at The Meadowlands where he was racing very well; narrow edge. (2) FOX VALLEY NEMITZ wasn't quite as sharp last time and this barn was clearly cold last weekend; mixed feelings. (8) ACTING OUT has some form and could prove to be a major player if fired off the gate.
Race 5: Non-winners $2,500 in last 5/TM Rating 73 or less
(6) PRIMO GIOVANNI raced better in his second start for this barn and he could provide value despite dropping in company since half the field is also getting class relief; Yannick drives! (5) ODDS ON LAUDERDALE continues to drop down the ladder in search of form. Will he finally find it? (2) CHASER HANOVER changes conditions and gets a major driver change. That said, I fear he'll be overbet. (9) EFFRONTE A is capable of a big mile if right.
Race 6: Non-winners 4 races or $50,000 life - $50K GTD Pick 4
(5) MY PAL JOE has proven he can handle a big track and his return qualifier was fine. He seems like a legitimate price option in a field with many options. (10) ALWAYS AND AGAIN drops into a much easier spot but drew poorly. If McCarthy can get him in play, watch out! (3) PUT IT RIGHT and (8) FLYINGEVENBETTOR N are two capable horses from the Alagna barn. The former could be tough if he can build off the recent win and the latter seems to be moving in the right direction.
Race 7: Non-winners 2/3 races or $20,000/$30,000 life
There are no standouts in this field and plenty of question marks. (2) ROLLING WITH SAM gets a good post to start from this week. That should allow him to stick close to the pace and fire home strongly like he has done on occasion in Pennsylvania. (9) DOUBLEAGENTMAN wasn't done any favors at the draw but still should be firing off the gate and remains dangerous. (1) BRIGHTSIDE KELVIN has done well in limited starts at Flamboro and enters a barn that seemingly can fire one up, but is it possible for this guy to drop seven seconds in one week? (3) LOTTERY WINNER didn't have it in his first start for this barn; another chance?
Race 8: Non-winners $7,500 in last 5 - Pick 6
(6) BILLY BADGER N took a step in the right direction last week after a few lackluster efforts. If he takes another step forward, he should be tough. (8) AMERICAN CHROME was forced to bump up two classes after a win three starts back. He takes a meaningful drop in company now. (2) STONEDUST has been consistently getting big checks at this level; using underneath.

Race 9: Non-winners $7,500 in last 5/Opt. $20,000 Clm.
(8) IMA REAL LADYS MAN went a huge mile in his first start on the east coast but locked wheels coming off the final turn so we don't know how well he would've stayed on. I saw enough to stick here against a mostly formless group. (4) VASARI N finally draws well here. His last race isn't as bad as it looks and this guy could be alive at big odds. (6) ANNIHILATION and (3) TIE YOUR SHOES ED both have some early speed and either could get involved at decent odds.
Race 10: Non-winners $14,000 in last 5/Opt. $50,000 Clm. - $40K GTD Pick 4
(5) BRACKEN STORM A finished second behind a monster last time. There is no such foe in this group. (6) BOILING OAR wasn't quite ready to rumble after shipping east and missing three weeks. I'll give him a second look. (4) ROCKIN THE ACES finished ahead of #6 last week and remains in good form.
Race 11: Non-winners $7,500 in last 5
(6) DECISION DAY dropped and immediately woke up last time. He dips another level now and has a conditioning edge on the ones that scare me most in the field. (5) BLOOD LINE and (4) DUDDIE'S LOR have great credentials but are coming off breaks in action. If either is ready they will be tough.
Race 12: $7,500 Claiming
(6) DURANT rolled in a slightly softer spot here at the end of November. He put in a nice training mile on Wednesday at Monticello to prepare for this and picking up Gingras, he seems likely to head down the road. (7) MAJOR JESSE was handled aggressively in all recent tries when Napolitano was in the bike; dangerous. (2) BILLION DOLLAR DAY has been second or third in half of his 24 starts this year; using underneath.
Race 13: $10,000 Claiming
(3) SO SO DE VIE has a win and a second in his last two tries for this claiming tag. (5) DUCKIES DYNASTY never got involved from an outside post last time out. I'd love to see him fire off the gate at good odds here. (2) CENTURY FERRARI wired a field in this class two starts back. If the barn wins early on the card, move this guy up. (1) IMAGEOFAROCKER is certainly capable in this class and perhaps new trainer Jamie Gerard moves him up.
