Meadowlands: Analysis for Saturday 10/17

MEET STATS: 91-23-14-16 / $184.40 (+$2.40)
BEST BETS: 7-4-1-1 / $11.40 (-$2.60)
BEST BET: DUPLICATED N (8th)
SPOT PLAY: DEALER'S TABLE (11th)
Race 1: $7,500/$10,000 Clm Hcp - Pick 5
(2) MR MCDREAMY wasn't awful in his first start for a new barn and now gets a major post shift which should help dramatically. (8) RUTHLESS DUDE beat many of these last week after sitting a good trip; threat again. (3) THE MIGHTY MARNER seemed to turn a corner last week with a solid effort and there is ample speed on the outside of the gate to set him up.
Race 2: Trackmaster Rating 73.5 or less
(8) MAKE IT BIG gets a driver change to Allard and it seems likely he’ll be on the engine with a huge chance of going down the road. (4) OUR ART AND HEAVEN is another getting a new pilot this week; a positive angle in a mostly formless field. (10) GRANDPA DON was dealt a tough post but rallied well last time.
Race 3: Non-winners $7,500 in last 5/TM Rating 82.5 or less - Pick 6
(8) RESPECT OUR FLAG was used and tired last time against better foes. He should have every opportunity to shine this week. (7) MINDTRIP couldn't have looked any better last Saturday and has the class to string together wins. (9) DE LOS CIELOS DEO is a capable horse who only shows up sporadically.
Race 4: Non-winners 2/3 races or $25,000/$30,000 life
(4) ODE TO GRAY is a decent horse that was never able to put it all together. His comeback race was a solid last time. Maybe he's finally ready to shine. (6) ROCKIN ROCKO and (3) DONTPASSME HANOVER are both coming off sharp wins and a repeat performance would make them major players. (8) CLAYTONS BETTOR N has been very consistent; using underneath.
Race 5: Non-winners $2,500 in last 5
(6) CHANGE STRIDE N disappointed as the favorite last time. Let's give him one more shot picking up Gingras in a light field. (4) MRS BROWNS BOY comes to town from Indiana and enters a solid barn. Four-year-old could wake up in a hurry. (3) THISBEACHRGHTHEREA has the speed but doesn't seem sharp enough to win right now. (2) DAVIDS COMING HOME is down in class; maybe.
Race 6: Non-winners $10,000 in last 5or $13,000 in last 7 - Pick 4
(8) FRANCO TOTEM N is razor sharp now and classy enough to step up to this level; Dunn's choice of three. (10) ISLANDSPECIALMAJOR just missed in this class last time. The post is tough, but that could mean value on the toteboard. (1) LYONS SKIPPER stretches out to the big track tonight and might enjoy it.
Race 7: Non-winners $4,500 in last 5/TM Rating 80.1 or less
(4) SWAGASAURUSREX comes to town sharp for a good barn who picked this guy up when claimed a few starts back. With Dunn going elsewhere that could mean a better price here. (7) PEMBROKE JOEY has improved on the big track and adds Gingras. (6) ALWAYS FLASHING A flashed speed and tired last out but I'm not ready to give up on him yet. (3) JUSTIN CREDIBLE deserves at least a look on the track with the addition of Tetrick.
Race 8: Non-winners $7,500 in last 5/TM Rating 82.5 or less
(9) DUPLICATED N was just even in his first start back from a break. Classy 6-year-old drops in for a tag and figures to be aired out. (3) THE BETTORMACK N drops to the level of his last win. (6) OILLIE’S ZTAM switches to Gingras and could get aggressive.
Race 9: Preferred Handicap - Pick 5
(3) GEEZ JOE improved in his second start back from a break. His game is to come off a helmet and I'm hoping he sits close and can pull off an upset of (5) SHARTIN N, who could very well get an off-the-pace drive against the boys a week ahead of the Breeders Crown eliminations. (4) HIGHALATOR goes for four straight wins here and you may get some value with Shartin signed on.
Race 10: Non-winners $14,000 in last 5/Opt $50,000 Clm - Pick 4
(8) IDEAL FEELING marched down the road in his last try at this level. (1) SOMEBADDUDE returns to the big track where he has posted his best career miles. (2) ANOTHER DAILY COPY needs the right trip, but he's clearly an upset threat if he gets it. (10) U S CAPTAIN is as good as any in the field. Post 10 is going to be a problem with plenty of early speed to his inside.
Race 11: Non-winners $4,500 in last 5/TM Rating 80.1 or less
(2) DEALER’S TABLE gets post and class relief. Sometimes erratic 4-year-old should be able to take care of business and the fact that Tetrick jumps ship for one of his main clients only means a slightly better price. (6) WAR DAN A got caught in a quick mile in his first stateside try. The class drop this week should help. (5) GO WEST GO FAST moves into a new barn. If DiDomenico can figure him out, this guy is fast enough.
Race 12: Non-winners $4,500 in last 5/TM Rating 78 or less
(3) EXOTIC DANCE is back in for a $15,000 claiming tag and there is no reason to think she won't return to form. (5) OVER SPENDING did good work on the mile track out west and finally gets a chance to stretch her legs on a bigger track in this neck of the woods. (1) QUITE A DELIGHT N comes to town sharp and should enjoy exiting the top class at Running Aces.
Race 13: $12,500/$15,000 Clm Hcp
(2) PREPPY ART had an outside post last time and an amateur driver in the start two back. Don't be shocked if he perks back up in this spot. (1) P H KENNY is just another sharp horse coming in for the Hernandez barn. They did well here earlier in the year. (7) PAPIAMENTO is back in for a $12,500 tag and adds Gingras. (4) MR CARROTTS gets a better post this week and could close for a good piece.
