FALL MEET STATS: 48-9-11-10 / $55.40 (-$40.60) BEST BETS: 4-3-0-0 / $19.40 (+11.40) SPOT PLAYS: 4-0-1-1 / $0.00 (-$8.00) BEST BET: VOLUME EIGHT (2nd) SPOT PLAY: WARRAWEE YES (6th) Race 1: NJ Classic 2YO Filly Pace B Final - Pick 5 (8) ANNELIESE HANOVER was used hard last time and paid the price. I think she can turn the tables on (3) ALEXA’S FANTASY with a slightly easier journey. The latter was super last time but hasn't been great in every start so maybe she is vulnerable as the odds-on choice. (10) SHOWMEMAGIC raced pretty well from post 10 last week and now ends up there again. We may see a slightly more aggressive drive this time but it is a tall order for her to win. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Non-winners 1 race or $10,000 life (3) VOLUME EIGHT put in an even effort versus much better in the Kindergarten in his career debut for a barn that doesn't usually fire first time out. This is a soft spot! (1) FINEST MOMENT has been handy enough to leave in his first start and come from behind most recently. He should have a say if the top one comes up short. (5) MUNK adds hobbles and we know he has some early speed. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NJ Classic 2YO C&G Pace B Final - Survivor 7 (6) BETTORUPTHEANTE faltered on the lead at Pocono last time but that could've been due to missing nearly four weeks of action. That Todd McCarthy sticks and provides an upgrade over Pelling is a plus. (1) BARY J comes to town from Illinois off a pair of wins and looks like a fit. (4) KRAKEN SEELSTER stepped up some in his last qualifier. Maybe he is ready to turn a corner? Race 4: NJ Classic 2YO Filly Pace A Final (2) TWO PISTOL ANNIE came down from Canada a week ago and charged home from an impossible spot to be fourth. I expect we'll see a much more aggressive try here and a win. (1) UCANDOIT BLUE CHIP came up flat last time and perhaps it was due to inactivity. Her best is good enough to give the top pick all she can handle. (5) LISA LANE has displayed some ability but won't be able to steal the race like last time out. Race 5: Non-winners 2-3 races or $26,000 life/Maidens draw inside (6) NINTEEN CRIMES was very good here two starts back then got in against tougher and couldn't compete last time. She's again in against a softer group, one with very little experience on the mile track. (3) HECKRAISER HANOVER comes to town with a perfect record. (4) BRAVO ROMEO adds Lasix and is eligible to improve. Race 6: NJ Classic 2YO Filly Trot A Final - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) WARRAWEE YES was used hard in the Peaceful Way versus the best filly north of the border and paid the price. Connections didn't bring this gal down to tour the swamp land; expecting a big mile. (4) GRAND FASHION and (5) SECRET VOLO both turned in solid miles last time after spending weeks on the sidelines. Either could step up in this spot. Race 7: NJ Classic 2YO Filly Trot B Final (10) SAINT TRIXIE was raced very conservatively as the 4-5 chalk in a race where she only had to be fifth to make the final. Post 10 is brutal here but at least the price should be juicy. (3) BELLA CIAO couldn’t have looked any better weaving between foes to charge home for the win in her career debut; one to beat. (4) TACTICAL MOUNDS raced well in defeat last time; new driver this time. Race 8: NJ Classic 2YO C&G Trot A Final - Pick 6 (1) CELEBRITY BAMBINO clearly needed the start a couple of weeks back after more than a month on the sidelines. In a small field loaded with early speed he can sit just off the pace and pounce. (3) OH WELL may be the most talented in this field but the time off is concerning and I'm not sure the one qualifier with have him at peak form. (7) UP YOUR DEO hasn't thrown in a bad race in his career. Race 9: NJ Classic 2YO C&G Trot B Final (3) BRACE FOR LANDING may not have been 100% last time but still hung around for a placing. Now the connections call on Tetrick and he's had another week to perk up. If this guy doesn't get overbet because of the driver change, he could be good value. (6) SOUTHWIND ADMIRAL is certainly the one to beat off his latest mile and a stellar career record. (2) AIR POWER has a powerful late kick and only needs to be in striking position to mow these down at what should be a fair price. Race 10: GSY 1 Pace - $50K GTD Pick 4 (4) CHIEF OF STAFF could clear the front last time and wound up burnt to a crisp on the rim. He gets another good post here and has options, though hopefully he'll look for a cover trip. (7) SCRAPPIN GOLD was dead game on the engine last weekend and will certainly be heading to the front again. (2) THNDRFRMTHETHRON N has some form and now moves to the inside of the gate. Race 11: Non-winners $10,500 in last 5 or 2022/TM 84.55 or less/NW1 in 2022 (2) ALWAYS B FIRST finished well in an even mile from an outside post in her first start since June 2021. She should be much tighter now and might be ready to pop a big mile. (8) HIGH MINDED added Lasix and perked up last time. If she takes another step forward, watch out. (5) COUSIN MARY comes off a sharp mile and has loads of class. Race 12: Non-winners 2-3 races or $26,000 life/Maidens draw inside (7) CHAMPAGNE HANOVER had much more life at the end of the mile with Lasix added last time. Three-year-old filly seems worth a look here. (6) VIRGIN MARY S didn't fire after missing about seven weeks of action. Her best is clearly good enough to best these. (1) SOME KINDA CRAZY seems to have her act together now and she's clearly fast enough to win. (3) SECRET RULE gets to add Lasix because he leaves Kentucky. I wouldn't be shocked if it helped wake him up. Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 13: GSY 1 Pace (7) E Z NOAH switched barns and scored impressively at first asking. Veteran 13-year-old has plenty of class and picks up the top driver in the series over the last year or so. (6) KNOW YOUR ROLL gets a trainer change this week and picks up another amateur who tends to do well; using. (4) SVENGALI is always a threat but extremely unreliable. I'll use him underneath only and hope tonight is not the night he beats me. Race 14: Non-winners 1 race or $10,000 life (9) THE EMPRESS ICE had a bad post in her career debut, broke versus much better two back and ran into stretch traffic a week ago. She clearly had something left in her most recent try and could be live here at good odds with Dunn choosing #1. (7) PURE HOPE S hasn't really been put in play yet but something tells me this could be the week that Svanstedt gets aggressive. (1) PARK SLOPE has put together a pair of decent efforts so far and could continue to improve.
