FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 389-139-56-48 / $710.60 (-$67.40) BEST BETS: 28-13-6-2 / $53.00 (-$3.00) SPOT PLAYS: 27-4-3-8 / $45.20 (-$8.80) BEST BET: R CHARM (13th) SPOT PLAY: ROYAL DRIVE (5th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (10) RONA MAE moves into a new barn and these connections have seen plenty of success with new arrivals. Lasix added only adds to the appeal of a horse that should provide value from the tough outside post. (2) SHORE OF HIMSELF took a small step forward last time and now gets to stretch out on the big track with Yogi taking over the driving assignment. (1) BIG BAD BILL is a capable veteran who should flash speed from the pylons and stick close enough to have a shot at a big piece. (4) URBAN RENEWAL drops back into the amateur basement condition and certainly figures to have a say. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2/L5 70/70.42) or less (6) VINTAGE GAL has almost as many wins in 2025 as the rest of the field combined. In her last start at this same level she faced tougher foes than tonight. (1) BEE AWARE comes off a pair of awful-looking lines but both of those races went quite a bit faster than this one will tonight. (4) CUTTING EDGE gets a slightly better post to start from tonight. Race 3: Trackmaster 74 (NW 2L5 76.50) or less/TM 77 (NW L2 79.55) or less draw outside - Survivor 7 (5) DARK MIND has been compromised by outside posts on smaller tracks in his last two starts. His form before that was fine. Five-year-old looks like one of many that could win this close-knit affair and the price should be right with Beckwith choosing off. (3) RAGING HANOVER certainly got better on the switch to the big track. Maybe that is his secret sauce. (4) LOVE THIS BAR hasn’t been here since April but was two classes higher back then. Gelding comes into town with confidence at a winning level. (7) C KAN TROT has big gate speed and will likely play catch me if you can. Race 4: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace (1) BLOODHOUND finally draws inside again and you can expect that he’ll be handled aggressively. Trainer Mark Silva is able to recognize when his horses are in a good spot. (4) JIM STRIKESITRICH gets a driver upgrade and might be on the moves early. All of his recent losses come with reasonable excuses. (5) SELECT FRIDAY was caught in a crazy-fast mile last weekend. His prior form has him fitting nicely in here. (2) IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N seems to be one check away from reaching the 15-year-old earning limit of $25,000, unless they changed that number. With that, I have to think he’ll either be super or awful to avoid clearing the mark on a small return. Race 5: Non-winners 2 races life (2) ROYAL DRIVE seems unlikely to take a ton of tote action but you have to admit he was better last week. That was likely due to an equipment change to a hood. He still bore in a bit in the stretch but finished up willingly against much, much better foes. (5) ISABELLA BI was off the gate and gapped some early but clearly had something left when asked for speed late in the mile. (3) GUSTAV was never asked in a qualifier where he raced alone. We didn’t learn much there and I’d be inclined to pass unless the price was approaching double digits. (6) FRATTINA DIABLO S raced well on debut and could certainly improve. Race 6: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 4 (2) STORM THE COURT is another from the Silva barn that finds a great spot this week. There simply isn’t much early speed on paper and you can bet your bottom dollar that Silva will take charge. (3) ARTIST BEST has proven he can sit and pounce late in the mile. The question him and others will have is whether the pace will be fast enough for his late speed to be effective. (4) HASHTAG MONEY is the other logical early leaver. The last time Beltrami drove him they fired to the front in 26 4/5. (6) WHAMMER JAMMER is a closer and a grinder who needs the pace to be honest. Race 7: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2/L5 70/70.42) or less (3) THANEEYA rarely tossing in a bad mile at the TM68 level and this race is ripe for her to take on the engine. (2) HOLD MY TIARA really had no chance from post nine last time. The inside draw tonight will allow her to save ground and pounce, which is what she does best. (1) BLUEBIRD CRUSH is far from reliable but certainly capable of sitting a trip and getting a win. (4) MISS YOU JOANN was much better in her most recent start; contender on best. Race 8: NJ Standardbred Development Fund 3YO C&G Trot - Pick 6 (5) CAMERA MAN had to wait for room and finished up his mile steadily last Saturday. I can see new tactics this week where they try to put him on the front. Is he good enough? We’ll find out. (7) GO AHEAD MAKEMYDAY seems to have calmed down from the early days of his season where he was often hot. He only finished two lengths behind #6 last time so if that one regresses he’s a major player. (6) ONAJETPLANE destroyed many of these last week without any issues but that was without shoes and I’d be willing to bet they are going back on tonight; driver downgrade as well. Race 9: $50,000 Home Grown 2YO Filly Pace (9) NAPALM is coming off a good second in the NJSS final where she paced in 1:50 3/5. None of these have sniffed anything close to that time. I’m not sure she is a lock but it is hard to make a strong case against her versus this group. (1) LADYSASSIN comes out of the same race as the top pick but finished double-digit lengths behind. She looked good winning her career debut and maybe the driver change will help her find that effort. (2) JUST MY WORLD was urged along but improved nicely in a solid qualifier last time. She should provide value and could certainly step forward. Race 10: $48,000 Home Grown 2YO C&G Pace - Pick 4 Close call between (2) CALLMEBIGPAPI and (1) BOOKIE J. Let’s give the narrow edge to the former. The horses who have defeated him rate a bit higher for me and there was no shame losing to a talented Signal Caller last time after cutting the fractions. The latter was wide most of the first turn and uncovered late in the mile last week in what was far from an ideal trip. (7) EVERLAST STING DEO was rolling along with a string of good miles before getting stuck in post nine last time. He’s outside again but certainly capable of getting a good piece with any reasonable trip. Race 11: Trackmaster 71 (NW 2L8 73.5) or less (6) HOOFBEATS DE VIE drops down and picks up an aggressive driver that will likely fire off the gate. Still, this guy only has one win in his last 32 starts, so don’t bet with both hands. (4) HUNTERS GAL is racing well now but the barn hasn’t won in quite some time. (5) FASHION FOREVER is good at getting minor exotic awards and could certainly show more with Zeron taking over the lines. (3) BANK BOX TREASURE was a strong winner in his last start at this level; new driver now is a question. Race 12: Non-winners $5,000 in last 5/TM 80.5 (NW L2 82.5) or less (3) HIGH FASHION STAR returns here at a reduced level and let’s not forget that this is just her fifth start of the year. In her last try here she went an insane-for-the-class 53 4/5 half. A more mindful approach is likely tonight. (4) SWEET CAROLLOU drops down and picks up the leading driver at the just concluded meet. (5) GOING AWAY has also been keeping better company overall. The race she comes out of went in 1:50 2/5! [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: NJ Standardbred Development Fund 3YO Filly Trot (1) R CHARM exits the Hambletonian Oaks where she never got involved after a slow start. She lays over these and should win easily enough. (2) TRULY AUTHENTIC just missed last time from the outside at Philly and prior to that was in against the Oaks winner Conversano. She can be a player here for second. (6) TACKY SUGAR has some ability but needs to behave. (4) JERSEY SLIDE finished just a length behind the top pick on July 19. Race 14: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/L10 73/73.46) or less (3) ALMOST KAREN just missed last time at big odds versus a better group. While there are some sharp horses in here, she seems to have the tactical speed to work out the right trip. (6) PULL ME THROUGH finished just behind the top pick in that TM71/74 handicap last time; clear contender. (1) COUNTRY DANCING made an impressive power move to win in TM68 last time. Is she an improving 3-year-old that can now handle the class hike?
