CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 332-108-80-43 / $592.20 (-$71.80) BEST BETS: 25-14-3-2 / $51.00 (+1.00) SPOT PLAYS: 25-6-7-2 / $22.00 (-$28.00) BEST BET: BOND (4th) SPOT PLAY: UP YOUR DEO (6th) Race 1: GSY 1 Pace - Pick 5 (7) KINGOFTHEJUNGLE was used too hard early and paid the price last time. He finds a great spot tonight in a field that seems to lack much early zip. (6) SHELLIE DE VIE could be a sneaky play coming in from Yonkers and might even show some early speed. (4) BRUCE’S MAGIC has been racing ok from off the pace and perhaps the bigger track will set up that style better. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Trot (2) GRAND FASHION was a horse I liked in the NJSS final and she rewarded me with a break. Walner filly showed no signs of that issue in prior starts and it seems safe to stick with her. (3) BUBZARELLIE was third in the same race that the top pick broke. Daughter of Tactical Landing seems to be getting better with each start. (6) HEART ON FIRE hasn't done much wrong but may need to find a way to win from off the pace tonight. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Trot - Survivor 7 (2) PRIDE N JOY is a talented filly who is still green and learning. While normally I'd want to wait a race to jump on her bandwagon, none of these seem to be loaded with ability. (1) QUICK STOP has the early speed to control the race but lacks staying power. (7) KITTY HAWK S couldn't sprint with them in the second half of the mile when the pace got fast. Perhaps more even fractions would give her a shot. (5) WALOVER lured Dunn off #1, which is interesting. She's worth a look on the track. Race 4: Kindergarten 2YO Filly Trot (4) BOND blazed down the road two back but caught one of the Doherty Memorial favorites last time and had to settle for second. She should take charge against this group. (7) FASHION ANNIE has done little wrong in her short career but may need to chase down a solid foe in #4. (1) TOTALLY RELENTLESS has raced well but needs to find more pure speed to stay near the top pick. Race 5: GSY A Pace - TM Handicapped (9) MV OK PALACIO BR finds a field loaded with early speedsters to set up his late kick. While post 9 isn't ideal, if they go fast enough it won't matter. (2) PICTONIAN THUNDER has been racing well and even picked up a win with this driver two starts back. (5) FERDINAND A, (4) THNDRFRMTHETHRON N and (8) DREAM OUT LOUD N are three of the early speed players and any one of them could win if able to set a reasonable clip. Race 6: Kindergarten 2YO C&G Trot - $50K GTD Pick 4 (7) UP YOUR DEO was a good second in the NJSS final behind the likely favorite in tomorrow's Haughton final. Disregard the DQ as the Judges made an awful call since there was no visual evidence of wrongdoing. (1) WINNER’S BET took a small step forward in his second career start and could continue to improve. (6) SOME KINDA CRAZY certainly is fast enough to win if he elects to mind his manners. (4) TE AMO LINDY debuted with a decent effort and is another that could move forward off that mile. Race 7: TrackMaster 77 Series Final (9) BEACH CHIEF rolled down the road to a lifetime mark last weekend and has now won two straight. If he puts up anything close to his last effort they'll be chasing for second. (4) OUR THIRD ROCK has been in form and now he adds Tetrick. (3) REGAL ESCAPE came home in 26 3/5 last time and couldn't make much of a dent in the top one’s margin. Still, he's sharp and capable if that one comes up short. Race 8: Kindergarten 2YO C&G Trot - Pick 6 (2) ONCE IN A LIFETIME won his debut then broke while be used to get the front at The Meadows. He rebounded with a nice try and Philly and should offer fair value here. (1) INTERNATIONAL MONI is perfect in his lone start and seems like the likely favorite. (4) PURPLE LORD has the pure speed to win if he can get a reasonable trip. (5) TALKIN' BOUT YOU makes his career debut off a pair of decent qualifiers and adds Tetrick to the team. Race 9: Muscle Hill 3YO C&G Trot (5) PRETENDER has been mostly getting third-place checks versus foes competing in the Hambletonian. There are no excuses for him to fail on the engine here. (1) THEREISNOLIMIT S never got involved in the Hambletonian but should have more opportunity here. (7) B A SUPERHERO completes the trio of Hambletonian horses that couldn't get involved last Saturday. You have to think he'll be leaving this week, right? Race 10: TrackMaster 81.25 Series Final - $50K GTD Pick 4 (6) TUXEDO BAY two-moved to control, set ambitious fractions and battled gamely nonetheless. He should be the last leaver to the front here and have the opportunity to rate a bit. (4) ATOMIC BLAST N bested the top pick last time and could be firing out to sit a cozy pocket trip behind him. Driver change to Gingras will mean a shorter price. (3) JIMS PERFECT TEN has a pair of placings in this class and could threaten with the right trip. Race 11: Non-winners $10,500 (NW L3 $11,600) in last 5/TM 84.5 or less (6) SO IRRESISTIBLE finished well last time versus a better overall group. This barn isn't as hot as it was earlier in the year but this is a good spot for her. (8) BALANCE was used a bit early and lacked a late kick while finishing just behind the top pick last weekend. (9) BEYOND WORDS N is as good as any in here but hasn't started in over a month. With some trainers I'd be concerned but Harrison could certainly have her ready. Notice when he was last here he did a decent job of keeping up with Open trotter Lovedbythemasses. (1) MRS TAYLOR is not going to get too much interested with an 0-for-16 record, but since taking time off she's been a bit better and just maybe she can get into the exotics at a price. (6) WILD OATS will be firing to the front and take them as far as he can. (7) FINN PALEMA is probably the horse to beat but one that could offer lower than desired odds. Race 13: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L3 $8,250) in last 5/TM 82 or less (6) HOTFOOT HANNAH hails from a barn that has had a good meet and this gal drops to the level of her last win here. (7) TIMESTORM returns to New Jersey with a double class drop, though it is concerning that he got nipped at the wire last time. (4) FIX-IT-UP is the opposite of the top pair in that he's very sharp but facing tough. If the top ones aren't keyed-up, he'll be a major player. (3) SHINKANSEN is capable of wiring this field and Dunn chose here over my top pick, but he's impossible to figure out.
