FALL MEET STATS: 26-10-5-5 / $72.40 (+$20.40) BEST BETS: 2-2-0-0 / $6.80 (+$2.80) SPOT PLAYS: 2-1-0-1 / $12.20 (+$8.20) BEST BET: SUPER DUPER COOPER (9th) SPOT PLAY: ODDS ON SARA SARA (13th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (8) RONA MAE didn’t deliver as expected in her debut for this barn but that had more to do with a bad post and a slow pace that compromised her positioning. Five-year-old sprinted home nicely in 27 seconds and should be primed for a top effort versus a somewhat formless group. (7) SAILOR’S SHADOW reunited with Baker here who scored with him back in June. While that was from off the pace, this is a spot where showing early speed could put you in prime position. (4) CAMLACHIE CHROME hasn’t done much since the barn change but don’t be surprised if he perks up with Geo in the bike in an amateur race this time. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: $50K Garden State 2YO Filly Trot (2) EMMAS MYSTERY CCL rolled past much of the field to win the NJSS final two weeks ago. She should be much closer to the action here with a big chance to repeat. (3) LIPSTICK was in the same flow as the top pick and closed mildly to be fourth behind her. I can see her being sent to the front this time, which would make her very dangerous. (4) ROYAL PATTI gets away from post 10. The main question is whether she’s fast enough to win. Race 3: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70) or less - Survivor 7 (4) LEAVE AND ROLL didn’t fire at all in his debut for the new barn, but that was his first race in five weeks. With many of these far from reliable, he seems like a viable option to avoid the chalk. (1) PACK YOUR BAGS rallied from the clouds for second in a race that fell apart. His three wins this year rank high in this field. (9) BIG BAD BILL finds a field without much early speed and could get into the number here with a strong burst off the gate. (6) MOONWARDS HANOVER had traffic trouble last time but was hardly loaded with pace. Still winless on the year. Minor award expected even if Ryder chose here over my top pick. Race 4: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace (6) ARTIST BEST drops down the MADC ladder tonight and should have every opportunity to win given any reasonable trip. (5) SELECT FRIDAY responded well with Yogi in the bike last time; early speed this week? (3) BIZYS BEATLE picked up some confidence last time; threat. (8) BLOODHOUND bottomed out the field last weekend but has an outside post this time. I’m leaning against on the win end but respect his chances. Race 5: $50K Garden State 2YO Filly Trot (1) SPARKS has yet to win but certainly looks best on paper. Svanstedt seems likely to fire out and try to control the action. (5) DIAMOND BAY turned in a nice qualifier and finished up willingly. Daley barn tends to have them ready at first asking. (2) R CANDY was overmatched in the NJSS final but raced well in her prior races. She can follow along and get a nice piece. Race 6: Non-winners 2 (NW L2 3) races or $20,000 (NW L2 $30,000 life/Maidens draw inside - Pick 4 (6) DONT DROP THE BALL finished up the mile nicely in his first start since October. You have to like that he’s right back in the box. Maybe the pedigree will shine through. (9) TWIN FURY got outsprinted last week and disappointed many backers. He’ll be heading to the front again and it is unlikely many of the 2-year-olds can do the same to him. (3) ROCKNACIOUS looks like the most talented of the rookies but I’ll probably pass expecting him to be overbet. Race 7: $75K Garden State 2YO C&G Trot (9) I’M KRONOS S is a horse that I’m convinced has a ton of talent and tonight could be his night against a much softer field than in his recent races. (7) NIX NACKEN has displayed some early speed and that could serve him well in this spot. This is another youngster with more ability than it appears on paper. (1) RAMBO HANOVER has some early speed and pylon position. Expect Svanstedt to be firing out. Race 8: Trackmaster 83.5 (NW L2 85.5) or less - $4,028 Pick 6 Carryover (2) TEN TOTHE DOZEN A was parked every step of the mile behind bad cover and really had no chance to succeed. Moving to the inside should provide him with the opportunity to wait and pounce or make an early brush with new driver David Miller. That said, this should be a competitive race. (5) ARDEN MESSI N comes to town on a four-race winning streak and it’s not like he hasn’t won here in the past. (7) BOBCAT BAY does his best work on the engine and took back to last where he landed in an impossible spot last time. Do we see speed here with Callahan taking over? Race 9: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,300) in last 5 or 5 (NW L2 6) races life/TM 83.75 (NW L2 85.50) or less (6) SUPER DUPER COOPER can’t be faulted for finishing second behind the classy Celebrity Bambino last time. Four-year-old lands in a great spot and could be pointed down the road. (9) QUEEN OF AMERICA S displayed some signs of life last weekend. Mare hasn’t displayed much early speed so she’ll need some luck on the pace side. (5) IMMIGRANT AM S was super in an amateur race and perhaps Callaghan will get even more out of him. Race 10: Trackmaster 80.5 (NW L2 82.5) or less - $26,408 Pick 4 Carryover (6) LOUIS LITT N has been a fairly consistent performer at this level while a number of these have done better work one level lower. He gets a narrow call only due to unreliability on the win end. (9) RILKOFF bumps up two levels but has been impressive in each of his last two starts here. (1) SAVE ME A DANCE and (3) HAGGARD have both been racing well to think they could be a trip threat. Race 11: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73.75) or less (3) C KAN TROT is being allowed to double drop in class and it is very difficult to avoid making him the obvious pick to win, especially with Miller joining the team. When they give you a gift, say thank you. (2) BANK BOX TREASURE won easily at this level three starts back and then was a credible third last time with a driver that has amateur status; sharp enough to win. (4) HUNTERS GAL didn’t fire last time but her prior form is fine. Note that this barn finally got a win last weekend after a long drought. Race 12: Trackmaster 77.5 (NW 2L4 79.5) or less (9) ALBERT ALPHA hasn’t had much success so far at Yonkers for new trainer Ron Burke. That said, we get a key location shift to the big track tonight and notice that he raced well in his lone Mohawk try in a very fast mile. (1) STRAIGHT TALK perhaps does his best work down a level, but that last mile was quite good and three of his last four miles have been solid efforts. (2) FERRAGAMO HANOVER has seen mixed results here in this class but it is worth mentioning that his lone win this year came here. Overall this looks like a soft TM77. Race 13: Trackmaster 71 (NW 2L4/L8 73.32/73.76) or less (10) ODDS ON SARA SARA won by almost eight lengths in her last appearance at the TM71 level and has multiple wins this year in faster times than any of these have travelled in their lives. (3) DARLIN’S DREAM is another who raced well in her races in this class, but she lacks the raw speed of the top pick. (5) JUST MY MAMA, (8) COUNTRY DANCING and (7) PULL ME THROUGH are all sharp enough to contend if the top one falters. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 14: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less (3) CAPTAIN CARTER drops back down to the level of his last win where he displayed speed at both ends of the mile. (7) ROCKABILLY CHARM put in a big effort in defeat last weekend. (8) AYR PIONEER GB steps up sharp and has displayed the ability to go faster miles if needed. Race 15: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70) or less (4) CHEDDAR SHREDDER as back in the TM basement and truly lands in the perfect spot. You have to expect she’ll be handled with a “down the road” mentality. (1) THANEEYA has early speed and decent form; top contender. (2) VINTAGE GAL went a much improved effort last time and can certainly contend. (10) EA MUSHU drops down and has some early speed, but the outside post may complicate matters.
