2022 STATS: 4 - 26 / $23.60 (-$28.40)
BEST BETS: 1 - 2 / $3.40 (-$0.60)
SPOT PLAYS: 0 - 2 / $0.00 (-$4.20)
BEST BET -
SIX DAY WARS (5th)
SPOT PLAY - DOCTOR BB (10th)

Race 1 - New Jersey Sire Stakes 2YO Fillies Pace

(2) MAKE SWEET MAGIC broke at Magical Acres in her second baby race, but she was very good in the first one, closing 27 seconds. Twin B Joe Fresh came out of that race to win a stakes event here last Friday, so I'll take a shot with her. (3) FOX VALLEY ADELE won both of her qualifiers over at Pocono for Marcus and Erv Miller, finishing up with two 27 and change last quarter. I also like that they raced her on the lead won and in the two-hole the other time. (7) WALL OF BLUE did the reverse of my top pick as she miscued first time out and then was better in the second one. She's in top hands with Jim King Jr. training.

Race 2 - 2YO C&G Trot

(7) PURPLE LORD closed with a nice kick from well off-the-pace in his one qualifier at Pocono, and trainer John Butenschoen is definitely capable of having one ready. (2) PARAMOUNT LEGEND N trotted home in 27 and change in his baby race on 6-4 and finished a solid second to Dire Straits, who has probably been the best-looking trotter I've seen in the mornings so far. (1) D'APPER has a big pedigree being by Walner and out of a mare who earned over $1.26 million. His single appearance in the qualifiers resulted in a victory.

Race 3 - New Jersey Sire Stakes 2YO C&G Pace

(9) HANDLELIKEAPORSCHE tallied on the front-end at Magical Acres on June 8 and then came back the next week with a rallying second-place finish. Chris Ryder had Twin B Joe Fresh very ready at first asking in the Tompkins-Geers last Friday and is having an excellent meet overall. (7) VOUKEFALAS comes in from Gaitway Farm where he posted a second and a win in his two qualifiers. His last quarters in the low 27 second range catch the eye. (5) VICI hails from the Brett Pelling barn, so that's always a plus. He went for $210,000 at the Lexington sale and trialed well at Magical Acres, picking up a third and then a win.

Race 4 - New Jersey Sire Stakes 2YO Fillies Pace

(5) UCANDOIT BLUE CHIP should have a big advantage over the others in here as she competed in the Tompkins-Geers last Friday, while the rest of them are all debuting. She raced very well, too, finishing a gaining second to Twin B Joe Fresh. (6) DEVILISH DREAMS paced a 27 flat and then a 27 and change final quarter in her two qualifiers down at Magical Acres, and I imagine Noel Daley will have her ready to fire. (9) LISA LANE is another Ryder horse that has a chance. Both of her baby races were solid and were at the Meadowlands, so she has experience over the oval.

Race 5 - TrackMaster Rating 70 or Less as of 6-21-22/5000CLM Pace

(6) SIX DAY WARS debuts for trainer Izzy Estrada in this race. That angle doesn't offer the value it used to, but it's still pretty reliable, and I'd expect a strong effort. (3) LIKE A COWBOY won down at Freehold in a similar class on 5-27 and has been plagued by bad posts since. He drew inside here, and that might be the key to a more aggressive approach. (2) SHAVING MUG has a good race/dull race pattern going, and if it holds he'd be sitting on a better performance tonight. He won handily at this level on June 10.

Race 6 - Inside Harness Series Leg 2/F&M NW3000L5/Leg 1 Starters/TrackMaster Rating 76.5 or Less as of 6-21-22/12500CLM Pace **$50,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 Pool**

(8) PHELGON makes her second start out of the Jenn Bongiorno barn here. She gained several spots in the final quarter a week ago, and I will bank on her being closer to the front tonight. (3) DANDY IDEA was cooked in a speed duel a week ago and faded to finish eighth. Hopefully she can land a better trip here since her effort on 6-11 was excellent. (5) UPTOWN LADY N didn't disappoint last Friday as a heavy favorite, and she's usually reliable when she's this low on the class scale.

Race 7 - GSY 1 Pace

(5) BYTHEWAY HANOVER usually offers some value, and all she needs is a little bit of pace to chase to set up that nice closing kick of hers. (1) ILLINI DUKE went a long way on the lead last week before settling for second and is another one out of the Estrada barn on the program. (7) CASINO BAGS ANSO has two wins and a third in his last four starts and was claimed by Dan Morrisey on June 4.

Race 8 - Inside Harness Series Leg 2/F&M NW3000L5/Leg 1 Starters/TrackMaster Rating 76.5 or Less as of 6-21-22/12500CLM Pace

(4) HEY HEY DBAY was second at the Meadowlands back on May 7 after a strong first-over bid and returns tonight after racing over at Yonkers since then. (3) TRIZZLE TRAZZLE missed the first week of this series (as did my top pick), so she will need to turn in a good effort to make the final. (9) ALKIPPE came up just a neck short of winning last Friday in a big try. She was able to get to the point from post nine at this level on June 3, so despite the outside draw, she has some versatility.

Race 9 - GSY 1 Pace

(6) SCRAPPIN GOLD has gone off form as of late, but if anybody can get him going in the right direction it's trainer Travis Alexander, and there's no real standout in this field. (1) PETER PUMPKINEATER had no shot last Friday when he drew post nine, but he moves to the pole position tonight, and that will probably allow James Slendorn to have him back on or near the lead. (8) TAKEITTOTHEFACE has a couple of second-place results in the GSY since early May and usually has some value for a barn (Symon Spicer) that does well in these races.

Race 10 - TrackMaster Rating 74 or Less as of 6-21-22/7500CLM Pace **$50,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 Pool**

(2) DOCTOR BB starts on Lasix for the second time, and I believe he finds a softer spot than the NW3's he's been meeting up with over at Harrah's Philadelphia. (6) DEERFIELD BEACH gave it a solid try from first-over in this class last Friday but had to settle for second. He gives Estrada another contender on the card. (3) PURPLE SKY was able to advance from tenth to sixth from post ten a week ago and moves inside on the gate tonight.

Race 11 - GSY/Pro Pace

(3) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING picked up a check in a TrackMaster 80 or Less event a week ago and now returns to the GSY ranks where he raced very well on 6-4 and 6-11. (7) VINTAGE GAL found the waters a little deep in the F&M TrackMaster 79.5 or Less race last Saturday but was in solid form prior to that and has a "pro" driver (Braxten Boyd). (8) CHIEF OF STAFF upset in a GSY race last Friday, but I don't think that was a fluke as he'd been racing well at Monticello coming in. He'll also have a catch driver (Scott Zeron) this time.

Race 12 - TrackMaster Series Leg 2/TrackMaster Rating 77 or Less as of 6-21-22/Leg 1 Starters/12500CLM Pace

(1) BRIGADOON is in career form right now, and when a horse gets sharp, there honestly doesn't seem to be much difference between these TrackMaster levels in the 70s. (4) WHAT THE LUCK has ripped off three wins in-a-row, and he was in the TrackMaster 70s or less to start June (like my top pick was). Another one to consider from the Estrada contingent. (7) ROCKABILLY CHARM has been knocking on the door with four straight on-the-board efforts, including a second to What The Luck last Friday.

Race 13 - NW7500L5/TrackMaster Rating 82.3 or Less as of 6-21-22/3YO Fillies Drawn Inside Trot

(4) CHIPLOSIVE often comes to life when he drops down this far on the class ladder, and I will bank on that repeating itself tonight. (3) TEQUILA N ROSES won at the corresponding level to this one over at Harrah's Philadelphia last time out. (9) SPIRIT OF DEO can probably win this race as she drops a notch but usually comes from out of the clouds and may not have the value to go with needing a perfect trip.

Race 14 - Inside Harness Series Leg 2/3YO C&G NW2 Ext. PM Races or 22500LT/Leg 1 Starters Trot

(9) FRANK THE ELDER turned in a strong second-place finish in leg one of this series a week ago, and it certainly helps his cause that Yannick Gingras is coming back from Yonkers to drive in the last few races here. (7) TROYCEN made up a bunch of ground in the final quarter last Friday in an improved effort. Scott Zeron will try to build on that with him tonight. (2) FINN PALEMA miscued on the far turn last week but his wins before that caught the eye, and he could definitely rebound.
