CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 26-7-5-4 / $38.00 (-$14.00) BEST BETS: 2-1-1-0 / $7.40 (+3.40) SPOT PLAYS: 1-0-0-0 / $0.00 (-$2.00) BEST BET: FASHION SCHOONER (12th) SPOT PLAY: LOOKS LIKE MONI (6th) Race 1: GSY 1 Pace - Pick 5 (1) FERNADO stormed home last week to gain a half-dozen lengths in the stretch. He should be closer to the action this week starting from the inside in a field that lacks an abundance of early speed on paper. (2) KINGOFTHEJUNGLE should have little trouble making the top this week and at worst sitting the pocket. (8) S MCKEE comes off a subpar effort but I didn't love the drive. I'll use him in the exotics. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: TrackMaster 79.5 or less/Opt. $12,500-$15,000 Claiming (5) GREYSTONE NATALIO raced well when last here from a tough spot and has a win over the track earlier in the year. This looks like a perfect spot for her to sit and pounce. (2) SO DELIGHTFUL was used too aggressively last time and had nothing left for the stretch. Let's not hold that effort against her. (1) IDEAL CLASSIC has a string of outside posts on her card and the move inside could be just what she needs to perk up. (6) DRESDEN switches tracks and conditions. She's capable from off the pace with the right setup. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: New Jersey Sire Stakes 3YO Filly Trot - Survivor 7 (2) JIGGY JOG S turned in a fine effort in her 2022 debut while getting out-kicked by the top-rated filly in the sport. She deserves another chance, especially since she'll be sitting no worse than second here. (3) MISSWALNER FASHION is loaded with talent and this barn tends to send them out ready. (4) JAYA BAE surprised me by leaving in her first start of the year last time. She has ability as well but I see her best as coming with more experience. Race 4: New Jersey Sire Stakes 3YO Colt Trot (5) TEMPORAL HANOVER showed off some of his talent last week with a sharp off the pace win and he's more than capable of being one of the top dogs in the division with continued improvement. (7) CLASSIC HILL was used a bit early and got out-kicked by the top one. He should continue to improve with racing. (6) FRANK THE ELDER was a killer with hobbles added last time but I want to see it again before I accept a much shorter price this time around. (3) JACK RABBIT SLIMS adds Dexter Dunn and deserves some consideration if he isn't overbet. Race 5: New Jersey Sire Stakes 3YO Colt Trot (7) STRIDE THE HILL was professional avoiding traffic while getting used to the front and professional sitting in the pocket on a sloppy track into the stretch last time. All was right until driver Andrew McCarthy pulled the plugs in traffic and jerked him slightly which was more than the colt could handle. Don't hold the break against him as he could light up the board here. (5) B A SUPERHERO is the obvious horse to beat and will be a single on most Pick 5 tickets. (6) TESTING TESTING looked to be coming into the race last week off a nice qualifier and was sidetracked by an Equine Herpes outbreak. In a crowded division with 20-something vying for a spot in the final, keep in mind he'll need a big effort to make it. Race 6: New Jersey Sire Stakes 3YO Colt Trot - $50K GTD Pick 4 (6) LOOKS LIKE MONI didn't make the front until the half last week and almost got away from series favorite B A Superhero while eventually holding well for second. The path to the front has to be easier this week. (4) SENNA made two moves in defeat last time. I expect an easy road to the top here and potentially a pocket trip. (1) SAVERIO HANOVER should push away and sit close from the pylons. I'm not sure if he can win but he should be in the number. Race 7: Non-winners 2 races life/Maidens draw inside (8) CREEATION should blast down the road in this spot as she faces much softer foes than fillies like Yanaba. (10) COMPLETE LIFE didn't show much from an outside post in her 2022 debut. She's still stuck outside but figures to be handled with a bit more early interest. (3) JAI ALAI S reunites with Sears, who got a win in morning action with her. Race 8: Winners 2-4 races life/NW 2 draw inside - Pick 6 (3) JK VICTORY has three qualifiers under his belt to prepare for tonight's start and there appears to be good options for him to leave and sit a trip or look for cover. (8) RIVER NESS is the best horse in the race for my money but I hate the outside post. If the trip works out at all he'll be one to fear. (5) FIKA TIME faces some younger foes but does get tested because they have some ability. (2) HURRIKANE CHUCK hasn't been awful in his qualifiers and he does add Lasix. Race 9: GSY 1 Pace (5) ROCKABILLY CHARM gets a spot in the middle of the gate this week and should be able to sit just off the pace with a big shot at picking up live cover. (1) FERDINAND A is the clear speed of the race from the inside and he's in good form. (9) ALLGONOWHOA is the other horse who might show some early zip. If he gets the top easily he'll be a factor. (4) CECIL CASANOVA took plenty of air and kept going last time and many from this barn have done that in the amateur races. Race 10: Winners $10,500 in last 5 or $50,000 life Handicap - $50K GTD Pick 4 (5) LAURIE LEE was absolutely super last week and despite the class jump and defection of Dunn to #6, I'll stick with her in what seems to be an evenly-matched field. (4) FOX VALLEY EXPLOIT will certainly be heading to the front and she has the staying power to stick around. (6) BEYOND WORDS N and (7) ANNABELLA HANOVER are both capable mares but I wouldn’t want under 3/1 on either horse. Race 11: Non-winners $10,000 (NW 2L5 $11,550) in last 5 or 6 races life/TM 85.06 or less (7) IT AINT THE WHISKY has been racing well at Yonkers and certainly has the early speed to take charge. Notice his lifetime mark came here last year. (1) SKYWAY KON MAN does some of his best work when he can sit close and pounce, which seems possible in this spot. (5) HENDERSON SEELSTER has the class to beat these and the better post will certainly help. Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 12: New Jersey Sire Stakes 3YO Filly Trot (1) FASHION SCHOONER went off the favorite versus Venerable last week and now lures Tetrick off the sharp winner (6) PEYTON HANOVER. The sky is the limit for this daughter of Walner-Broadway Schooner. The latter certainly looms as a major threat. (2) GRACELYN HANOVER should've won last time. She’s going to have to prove it to me now. Race 13: GSY 1 Pace (5) HURRIKANE GEORGIE blew out a nice mile while missing by just a nose on Tuesday at Pocono. That should have him plenty tight for an amateur I have plenty of confidence in. (7) A B COLLINS is clearly sharp and has a top amateur as well. The move in a few posts will certainly help. (8) DREAM OUT LOUD N is the mystery horse to some extent. He woke up in a big way on the trainer change, but this barn has been hot lately and who knows if that will continue. Also, his best game has been early speed and the two picked above have it to his inside. (4) ROCK TO GLORY needs pace help but is capable of closing well for at exotics appearance.
