Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5

(4) HARRY HANOVER left and sat what looked like a perfect pocket trip but got squeezed in the stretch by a parked-out #1 and didn’t get clearance until the top three were long gone. Five-year-old should get a better scenario here. (6) IN NEVADA N showed some serious signs of life last time and perhaps he’s about to turn the corner. (1) OHMIKIYOURSOFINE moves to the inside of the gate and is sure to get a better journey than last time.

Race 2: $9,000-$12,500 Claiming Handicap - Survivor 7

(8) RACING MONEY exits amateur races and drops back in for a tag slightly under what he was claimed for in early March. Has this guy’s poor performance been due to this barn or amateur drivers? I’m willing to bet it’s the latter and take a shot on a horse that can leave the gate at a decent price. (3) BETTER THAN SOME won on the engine last time and seems likely to try similar tactics here. (6) CAPTAIN TERMINATOR gets a change of scenery as her arrives from Pocono and maybe the big track will pick him up. Notice his career mark was on the mile track at Cal Expo last year.

Race 3: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4 71.5/72) or less

(3) ROLLINWITDAPONYZZZ faced a tougher group in a mini-series final last time and really wasn’t that bad in a rather quick mile. He’s in a “no excuse” spot this week. (7) XMARZTHESPOT drops from the TM74 to TM71 condition and I wouldn’t be surprised if he raced well despite showing no wins in a very long time. (5) HELLO ROCKY broke here two starts back in his first try for this barn then got stuck in the eight-hole at Freehold last time. I couldn’t faulty someone who wanted to take a positive view here.

Race 4: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4/NW2in23-24 74.5/75/75.85) or less - Pick 8

(1) CLAYTONS BETTOR N was sapped of his energy in a very quick opening half last time and had no fight left for the stretch. Driver change here should only help his cause tonight. (7) JUST A ROCKET MAN has rolled to three straight wins and really dug down deep to secure the victory last time; threat again. (4) DYNOMITES PEAK was a solid second in this condition last time, though McCarthy opted for #2.

Race 5: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace

(8) LACHIE MAGUIRE N has a bit of versatility to his game and I like his closing kick better than some of the others; I’ll take a shot. (4) PREMIER JOY A picked up some confidence at Cumberland and now tries his luck back on this track. Will he be the last of the inside speedsters to make the top or will he be forced to tuck? (6) FURIOUS BEACH gobbled up the field against a very similar group last time.

Race 6: Trackmaster 77.6 (NW L2/2L4 78.1/78.6) or less Series - $50K GTD Pick 4

(8) ABUELITA HANOVER closed very well to be second last time on a track where 11 of the 14 winners won on the lead or from the pocket. If the track is playing fairer or she is put in play early, a win is in the cards. (5) WINDSUN MOJITO won leg one and certainly looks like a serious player to repeat. (1) SHAKE IT TWICE also tried to close on a track that didn’t favor that move last weekend; trip threat.

Race 7: Play Meadowlands Non-winners $3,000 (NW L2 $3,470) in last 4/TM 77 (NW L2/2L4/2L6 77.5/78/78.80) Series

(7) STONE MASON pushed away from the gate but had to settle for a tuck last time as too many others went as well. He closed willingly while in a less than stellar outer flow and seems like a good fit here at what should be good odds. (4) PENCILS DOWN rolled to victory at odds-on in leg one of this mini-series and he’ll be favored to repeat. (3) UNIQUE KEMP saved all the ground and rallied past the top pick last Friday; trip threat. (1) STAR TRACK HANOVER was hammered at the windows and came to play last out. I’d want 6-1 or higher since the victory was likely because speed was simply good. (5) OH LINA picks up a top catch-driver.

Race 8: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 6

One of these horses is going to win this race but I honestly don’t have a very strong opinion on which will get over the top. (3) ROCK JAGGER exits some series races with sharp foes and might enjoy the condition change to the amateur ranks. (2) SAND SNIPER moves back to the inside of the gate but hails from a barn that is winless at the meet. (6) ROCKABILLY CHARM wasn’t going to be successful on the rim last time. He can be a threat with the right trip.

Race 9: Non-winners $7,500 in last 4/TM 84.30 or less

(9) JL CRUZE raced very well in his second start over the track and now we have to ask himself if that effort means he’s ready to leave the gate and pop a big mile. Since the price will likely be very fair with everyone jumping on (6) INSTAGRAM MODEL, we’ll take a shot. The latter double drops in company and her chances really come down to whether she is put in play early or if they race her conservatively again. (5) DULY RESOLVED drops for a barn with a high win percentage at the meet; Tetrick drives.

Race 10: Non-winners $7,500 (NW 2L4 $8,250) in last 4/TM 83.5 (NW L2/2L4 84/84.50) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4

(4) MISS LIMELIGHT N comes off a race where her line doesn’t look very good but she did close in 27 3/5 on a speed-favoring track while facing much better. This field should be right up her alley in just her third start since last August. (5) PATTYCAKE MOOSS gapped but held ok in mid-stretch coming out of the same race as the top pick. Her best game has been near the lead and perhaps we’ll see those tactics against this softer group. (1) SUPER GIRL is up in company a bit but certainly sharp.

Race 11: Trackmaster 77.6 (NW L2/2L4 78.1/78.6) or less Series

(5) CHARMING VIXEN raced very well from a difficult spot last time upon arrival from Yonkers. Mare lands in a great spot this week and I wonder if we’ll see some early speed here. Interesting that Miller chose #9 but we get a good replacement in Zeron. (8) TESLA POWER comes to town with plenty of form and does show a big track win last year at Mohawk. (2) QUEEN SUN RYSER should be put in play and could have a say with the right trip.

Race 12: Winners 1-2 races life

(5) LINDY’S COYOTITO blew out a sharp qualifier and any improvement should result in a victory. (4) LOVELY HEART could fire to the front here and take advantage of the fact that she has a conditioning edge on many coming off qualifiers in their 3-year-old debuts. (6) CROWN MONARCH looks to be coming off a dull line but was chasing some Open types like Celebrity Bambino.

Race 13: Non-winners $5,000 in last 4/TM 80.5 or less

Any of these mares could win given the right setup, so we’ll take a shot with a price play in (3) UPTOWN LADY N. The 9-year-old got caught in a pretty quick mile last time on a night where closing from the back was somewhat difficult. I could see Smith getting aggressive versus the small field. (5) MISS MAJESTY has been rolling along at Pocono. She was driven out last time so I’m not sure there is more left in the tank, which would mean a high 1:51 mile would be what she can do. That is good enough to win but the price may be shorter than deserved. (4) SWEETEST BELLE had no shot last time and was even in the start prior. She drops again searching for winning form. (2) SHEZAFREAKLIKEME is certainly capable if she brings her best effort.

Race 14: Play Meadowlands Non-winners $3,000 (NW L2 $3,470) in last 4/TM 77 (NW L2/2L4/2L6 77.5/78/78.80) Series

(10) HOLY BEING raced pretty well from post 10 in his first start since December. None of these jump off the page and the fact that he gave it a go last time from the outside only inspires confidence that he’ll do it again. (2) FASHION FOREVER was a good second behind a heavily backed favorite last week. (5) LA MAGIC put in a good effort at Freehold the last time TJ drove. Eight-year-old has early speed and seems likely to use it.
