MEET STATS: 264-75-48-36 / $424.70 (-$107.30) BEST BETS: 19-9-3-2 / $35.40 (-$2.60) SPOT PLAYS: 18-3-6-2 / $11.20 (-$24.80) BEST BET: OUTSIDE THE FIRE (10th) SPOT PLAY: URNTROUBLE HANOVER (7th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (1) TERRE HAUTE faced a better group of amateur foes last week and prior to that he was stuck in outside posts. Yogi seems likely to fire out from pylon position. (3) FINAL JUSTICE only has one recent amateur mile and it was a good second two starts back with Beltrami in the bike. (5) ATTA BOY DAN will be firing to the top and he’s capable of getting a big piece if left alone. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4/NW in 2024 71.5/72.23/72.45) or less Series - Survivor 7 (7) VEL LARRY comes off two legitimate toss efforts due to a bad post and just poor positioning. He now picks up a catch-driver and is clearly facing easier as this field is pretty weak from top to bottom. (2) NATIVE CHIEF is a new shooter to the group. That alone merits him a look. (6) CLOUDBREAK has probably been facing better in recent amateur races. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75.10) or less Series (7) THE WILL TO PLAY got 'Izzified' by new trainer Estrada and crushed his lifetime mark by almost three seconds. He doesn’t have to win here since a spot in the final is guaranteed but with any effort close to the last one none of these have a remote chance. (3) LINCOLN BOULEVARD weaved through traffic and had some sneaky pace last time. (1) FERRAGAMO HANOVER did his best to keep up with the top pick a week ago and got second money. (5) GOTTA MINUTE N figures to revert to early speed tactics here and that should give him a fighting chance for a good board spot. Race 4: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - $2,626 Pick 8 Carryover (5) ROCKABILLY CHARM won going away the last time he hooked up with Beltrami in an amateur event. This is a competitive race but he rates highly. (8) THNDRFRMTHETHRON N will certainly be heading to the top and should be the last leaver to get there. (4) KICK THE DIRT UP almost has to be gunning off the gate here and should have too much company to his inside. (1) CAMALACHIE CHROME has been stuck with many outside posts lately. He raced very well from the 10-hole last weekend. Race 5: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4/NW in 2024 71.5/72.23/72.45) or less Series (7) BILBO HANOVER and (8) LETTUCERIPRITA A were facing similar foes at Pocono and I’d argue that the former was doing a better job but the latter seems likely to get more tote action here due to an easy win over the track last time. Both have a chance but Bilbo Hanover seems like the more appealing price option. (3) COIN FLIP displayed some speed at both ends of the mile last time in a decent mile. Race 6: Non-winners $3,000 in last 4/TM 77.55 (NW L2/2L4 78/78.55) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (1) IM PRINCESS BELLA A got away slowly in her debut for this barn but was able to pass horses late with a solid 27-second kicker. She has a big shot here in a competitive event. (9) ERA OF LOVE toured the oval from post 10 last time and was done no favors with the nine-hole here. That said, she only needs a reasonable trip to have a shot. (4) MONEYMAKEHERSMILE was just even in the amateurs last time on the claim. I can see her showing early speed here. (7) EA AUDIT came to play in her first start of 2024 and perhaps she’s just a better horse now. Race 7: Non-winners $3,000 (NW L2 $3,470) in last 4 (7) URNTROUBLE HANOVER had plenty of stretch traffic and never got a chance to stretch his legs last time in his first start for this barn. Perhaps he offers some value here in what looks like a close-knit group. (2) MASSIVE MATTER makes his rent money at this level and only needs a reasonable trip to threaten. (1) JAYPORT ROADRUNNER added hobbles and responded with a nice effort to be second last Friday. (5) SHINKANSEN raced better than it looks on paper and he had a hint of late trot last time out. He moves inside a bit and could awaken; Beckwith’s choice over #’s 7, 8 and 10. Race 8: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 6 (5) WARRAWEE YANKEE was sitting behind dull cover, swung wide on the final turn and was in high gear before steadying slightly when another foe came out. Then he got up to speed again and was surely going to be second when he broke. Four-year-old is sitting on a win. (1) DANDY IDEA should be firing out from the inside for Yogi and he does have a pair of recent seconds in the class. (3) WHAMMER JAMMER moves to the inside of the gate and is a trip threat. (7) ROCK ON LINE beat many of these last time going away, so don’t ignore him. Race 9: Trackmaster 73.5 (NW L2/2L4/L4 74/74.5/75) or less Series (6 PHELGON hasn’t seen this condition since December but she won two of three starts when last seen in this class. She also found early speed then and could very well tap into it here. TJ Miller chose off but that seems like partly a barn loyalty thing. (7) SHES SO SWEET has been keeping good company at Saratoga and it will be interesting to see how she does on the big track. (9) DON’T TRIP comes to town with tons of form but must find a way from the outside post. (1) THAT’SMYTYPE raced well last time to be second and could get a piece here. Race 10: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,250) in last 4/NW $10,000 L4 draw outside - $50K GTD Pick 4 (7) OUTSIDE THE FIRE fired out as fast as the gate, yielded to the heavy favorite and wound up trapped in the pocket while full of trot. Another quick sprint off the gate seems likely here and I doubt he’ll be taking any prisoners as the clear chalk. (6) SIDD FINCH has been holding his own while facing better and now drops to the level of his last win; price-shopping option. (5) FOCUS POCUS qualified back well and seemingly is past his breaking issues. Race 11: Non-winners $5,000 in last 4 or in 2024/TM 80.5 (NW L2/2L4 81/81.5) or less (9) LISA LANE is unlikely to get too much pari-mutuel attention here from the outside post, but she has early speed in her arsenal and is more than capable of going with this group given the right trip. (5) JENDEN STRIKE A raced gamely last time on the rim and a repeat effort would put her right in contention again. (1) CHILLIN BYTHE POOL has every right to improve in her second start of the year, though she might need one more start to get up to speed on the big track. Race 12: Non-winners $5,000 (NW 2L5 $5,521) in last 4 or in 2023-24/TM 80.01 or less (5) GOTWUTEVERITTAKES beat up on a weaker bunch as expected last time and may be sharp enough now to handle this jump in class. (4) PENCILS DOWN returns here at a reduced level and we might see some early speed this time. (6) TORRONE returns from a three-plus month break in action but is certainly down in class. I’ll take a long look at him in the post parade and make a game time decision. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Trackmaster 73.5 (NW L2/2L4/L4 74/74.5/75) or less Series (8) OUR SHELL BELLE went a nice steady mile from off the pace in her 3-year-old debut. Prior to that she qualified nicely. Barn has done well this meet and this gal drew into a rather soft spot. (1) STAY CLASSY scored at first asking for Cullipher two starts back at Pocono but was a bit flat last time; can rebound. (6) EVAS SPORTS CZECH isn’t overly enticing on the win end but doesn’t face much here either; using underneath. Race 14: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75.10) or less Series (1) SKYWAY BILLY doesn’t look very enticing off his last two starts but none of these jump off the page as having form. The inside post should help him stay close to the pace. (6) HEART OF ROCK was used up early last time and faded as expected in a fast mile. The trip should be easier this time. (4) SLICK N QUICK is capable of sitting patiently and shaking loose for an exotics slot at a big price.
