SPOT PLAY: SOUTHWIND DREDGE (3rd)
Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5
(7) ARCHETTO HANOVER should fire to the front in this spot and the only issue could be if they make him work too hard to get there. (8) ARYIANA STAR has finished in the money in three of her last four starts in this class. (3) ROLLINWITDAPONYZZZ really wasn’t bad last time and he won’t find an easier spot than this one.

Race 2: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4/2L15 74.5/75/76) or less/NW 2 life - Survivor 7
(2) DYLAN THE GREAT was racing in the top classes at Cal Expo and now makes the 3,000 mile trek to the east coast and enters a high percentage barn with Dunn in the bike. He should fit very nicely in this low-level Trackmaster class. (5) SOUTHWIND FROST exits the amateurs and picks up a catch-driver now. He’s as fast as any in here if on his game. (1) FIX-IT-UP won three starts back when last in the TM74 class. (8) HARDROCKCAFE is coming off a good mile and could be ready for a peak effort here judging by his current pattern; post hurts.

Race 3: $7,500 Claiming
(7) SOUTHWIND DREDGE comes off a pretty big mile when second behind the chalk last weekend. Also notice he made twice as much as any horse in the field last year while pacing a 1:50 4/5 winning mile at Philly. This is a winning spot. (6) MISTER GODRO has been racing fairly well in this class and seems likely to go forward off the gate. (2) HENRY THE DRAGON is one of a few getting a barn change. His last couple of miles weren’t too bad.
Race 4: Non-winners $3,000 in last 4/TM 77 (NW L2/2L4/2L7 77.5/78/78.85) or less - $13,550 Pick 8 Carryover
(8) STORMONT DIVIDE marks the return of the Burke barn to The Big M, albeit with Michael at the helm with Ron taking some time off. This guy hasn’t been out in a month but that is of little concern. Driver change here as well and a 1:55 1/5 win at Mohawk last year says he can do in this spot. (3) MUSCLE DAN drops two classes since his last appearance here and notice that was his only flat line, so maybe he needs the big track. (4) TIMESTORM kept his act together with hobbles added and he does have some class; playable.
Race 5: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Handicap Pace
(5) SUNSHINE’S FINEST has been stuck in outside posts the last couple of weeks and was steady late. Eight-year-old remains sharp and should have plenty of pace to close into with multiple outside speed sorts in the field. (1) MY WISH CAME TRUE rallied stoutly last time and perhaps that is a sign of form to come. (7) ATTA BOY DAN is a classy millionaire that only needs a reasonable trip to get involved.
Race 6: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,510) in last 4/NW7500 in last 4 or TM 83.5 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4
(6) CAVIART DAVIA makes her way down the ladder one rung but more importantly had a few weeks off. The last time she missed a bit of time the results were a solid second against better. (3) SPEAK YOUR MIND hasn’t been bad lately and this barn turned a corner last weekend with its first two wins of the meet. (5) UPTOWN LADY N has a win and a second in her last two starts in this condition. (8) VILLAGE JADE gets major class relief but hasn’t raced well in a while; could awaken but leaning against.
Race 7: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75) or less/NW $1,000 last 4
(5) CREAM VIRGIN gets a better post to start from here and notice the improved last quarter a week ago. As mentioned, this barn woke up last weekend and is capable of stringing together wins. (4) BULLVILLEKARLA won by four lengths in her last try in the TM74 class. (6) SAMOSA HANOVER has the early speed to get position and should grab an exotics slice.
Race 8: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Handicap Pace - $4,641 Pick 6 Carryover
(5) DANDY IDEA was scheduled to come back on just a few days rest and was scratched sick from an outside post. She lands in a great spot here to gun off the gate and sit a close trip. (7) MARINER SEELSTER couldn’t have looked any better last time and anything close to that mile would make this 15-year-old tough to beat. (9) BRAZEN BRAZILIAN comes off a long mile where he was parked. He’s back in the amateur ranks and has a big shot with any reasonable trip.
Race 9: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,501) in last 4/TM 80 or less
(4) CHIPLOSIVE only steps down one notch on the class ladder but is facing far and away the softest group he has seen in some time; no excuses. (7) BULLY BOY HILL stopped last time and Lasix is added now; could rebound. (8) HOOFBEATS DE VIE responded to the addition of Dunn in the bike.
Race 10: Winners over $10,000 in last 4 Handicap - $50K GTD Pick 4
(6) MIKALA has come back from vacation in fine form and should prove tough to beat. (4) TONYS MOM chased the top pick at Yonkers last time and seems destined to a similar fate. (5) RACINE BELL has plenty of class and her chances really come down to whether she needs a start returning from a break in action.
Race 11: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4 71.5/72.06) series
(1) SKYWAY BILLY isn’t a horse I’m excited to bet but he couldn’t be in any cheaper than tonight. Miller should get away close and have every chance to win. (7) FURIOUS BEACH was just a couple of lengths behind the top pick last time they met and now Dunn joins the team. (4) GLOBALDOMINATION N is probably the best horse in the race, but this barn is winless, the horse has missed five weeks and his form was awful when last on the track.
Race 12: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4/2L15 74.5/75/76) or less/NW 2 life
(4) GHIBLI raced steadily from off the pace into a reasonably quick final quarter for the class. She has a legitimate chance here at good odds. (7) POKER PLAY keeps getting stuck outside. If the trip works out he can play with this group. (8) BINGO BRAIN lures Dunn off #7 despite a career 0-for-28 record. Maybe there is more to the picture than I can see.

Race 13: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4 71.5/72.06) series
(8) MISS ITALIA arrives in the U.S. for a good percentage barn. She’s missed some time and interestingly Dunn didn’t take this Quevedo horse, but I have faith in Beckwith. (6) HOLD MY DRINK took a big step up and landed the far outside post last time at The Meadows, so it was understandable that he stunk up the joint. Barn change tonight as he lands in a soft spot. (4) BRIAR’S DESIRE has raced well when at this level recently.
Race 14: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,250) in last 4/TM 83.01 (NW L2/2L4 83.5/84) or less/NW3 2022-24
(1) OUTSIDE THE FIRE finally stayed flat with hobbles added and he never got clear in the stretch last time. He has a shot to upset the favored (8) KING ALPHONSO, who was an easy winner in his last attempt in this condition. (2) DULY RESOLVED hasn’t been out in a while. Lasix is added here and he does have some back class.
