(2) FATHER SARDUCCI gets an interesting driver change and should be part of the pace or at least close to it. (5) PIRATES ALLEY has a recent GSY win and enough form to do it again. While the 14-year-old isn't the horse he once was, he still picked up $50K in 2021 and looks like the horse to beat. (9) HALLIAMA is a capable horse at this level and very few people are going to give him a shot. There should be some value here if Chartrand can get him in position. (5) MARVELOUSTRIX is the type of horse who can take advantage if the race falls apart, which it very well might. Race 4: GSY Series (2) CECIL CASANOVA hung in there pretty well despite a tough first-over trip in the amateur final last time. The price should be much better and hopefully the trip will be as well. (7) PREPPY ART has the early speed to make the front and more than fits with this group; very playable. (6) GALACTIC GALLEON N picked the perfect time to win his first race of the year in the Dec. 31 final. Veteran raced very well that night and seems worth considering again. (4) ELYSIUM SEELSTER displayed speed at both ends of the mile last time but was out-finished by #6. Race 5: Non-winners $4,000 (NW L2 $4,400) in last 5/TM 81 (NW L3/5 81.54/82.05) (4) DARKRSHADEOFPALE N drops to what should be a more comfortable level and adds Zeron. (2) NIMAH FRANCO N was a good third against slightly better in her last appearance at this track. (5) WATCH MY LUCK has been even of late. The switch to Gingras could wake her up. (7) GO SANDY GO is certainly sharp right now and she is versatile enough to leave or take back. (9) JUXTA COWGIRL had a long journey from post 10 last time and only needs a smoother trip to menace. Race 6: Non-winners $7,000 (NW L3 $7,700) in last 5/TM 84 (NW L3/5 84.5/85) - $50K GTD Pick 4 (10) SHE'S NUN BETTOR N looked ready to roll by the leader when she made an uncharacteristic break last time at Philly. Her form might not be spectacular on paper but I expect she'll be flying off the gate with a big shot to wire this field. (7) DEMETER N gets away from tougher foes like Priceless. If Harris can wake her up, she has a chance. Race 7: Non-winners $2,500 (NW L3 $2,750) in last 5/TM 79 (NW L3/5 79.5/80) (7) ARQUE HANOVER didn't have the best trip most recently at Philly and raced ok versus better in his last try here two starts back. Veteran drops down and could be live at a price. (3) SADIQ HANOVER also drops in class but has missed four weeks of action. His "A" game would make him tough in here. (10) SEAL O’NEILL got the Meadowland shuffle of years past in his start two back and was nipped at the wire last time. Four-year-old has the early speed to make the top despite post 10. (1) BEANTOWN SPORTY is in good form but don't take a short price. Race 8: Non-winners $7,000 (NW L3 or FM $7,700) in last 5/TM 84.92 or less - Pick 6 (1) VIC'S WINNER has been sneakily better in his third and fourth starts back from a year vacation. In a field with loads of early speed players, he could get away mid-pack and pounce. The one negative is the lack of a Meadowlands regular in the bike, but Porter did well on New Year's Eve here. (10) MUSCLE JACK beat up on softer on December 31 but has the ability to climb the ladder. (6) BUZZ is an interesting shipper from Woodbine with some class. Race 9: Non-winners $10,000 (NW L3 $11,000) in last 5/TM 87 (NW L3/5 87.5/88) (4) LA BELLA VITA N has looked good in each of her qualifiers as she has been brought along slowly since coming to this country. Erv Miller trainee catches a reasonably soft group for this class. (8) KEEP ROCKIN A is the horse to beat on paper if you can look past the fact that she has little early speed and hasn't raced in a month. She's playable but only at a fair price. (3) MAGICAL MISTRESS didn't look ready for this in her qualifier but Burke tends to have them ready when he sends them to the track. Race 10: Winners 2-4 (NW L3 5) races or $50,000 (NW L3 $60,000) life - $50K GTD Pick 4 (8) ALTA MADEIRA N has shown good early speed in her two qualifiers and finished up willingly last time. Down Under import finds a great spot for her U.S. debut. (5) SKYY can't seem to get over the top but has raced well in this class. (7) ALUMNI SEELSTER picked up some confidence and rolled down the road at Philly last time. It would be no surprise if she did it again. Race 11: Non-winners 2/3 races or $20,000/$30,000 life (8) CHASE A CHECK has been doing just that as he's been stuck outside week after week on the half at Saratoga. I'd give him a look here at a double-digit mutuel. (3) BIRDMAN looks like a private purchase for Team Cullipher off a sharp Northfield score. (5) SHENZI AS has been steady in this class; using underneath. (9) SAN CRISTOBAL has a shot but could be overbet considering his 2 for 27 career record. Race 12: Non-winners $2,500 (NW L3 $2,750) in last 5/TM 78 (NW L3/5 78.5/79) (7) STOWAWAY HANOVER drops a couple of classes in her return to The Meadowlands and is coming off a solid mile at Saratoga. Her best effort beats this field and the price should be fair. Also, she's in the mixed sale here as HIP 55 on January 17. (5) FLIRTY FORTY raced well in both recent starts over the track and had excuses both times - post 10 and first start after a six-month break. Gingras in the bike is a nice plus. (4) IN THE NIGHT won here on December 2 and took a shot in this class last time here from post 10. (3) AMERICAN DELIGHT N visits the basement condition with sketchy recent form; awakens? I'll try (7) SEVENSHADESOFGREY, who was racing in stakes for Ron Burke before selling at Harrisburg to Ricky Bucci for $75,000. The qualifier was good enough to have him tight and even if he wins he'll get to come back in this class again next time. (4) YOU WILL BE QUEEN sneaks into this race on the F&M sub condition. Mare should be forwardly placed and have a big shot. (1) HEARTOFGOLD DEVIE has two recent wins at the track in decent times, albeit in lower classes. She fits here but might be overbet. Race 14: Non-winners $2,500 (NW L3 $2,750) in last 5/TM 79 (NW L3/5 79.5/80) (2) ELRAMA N looks to be in bad form on paper but that can be chalked up to racing against much tougher company. He plunges to the basement condition this week and has no excuses. (5) BURNING BLAZE rallied well in his second start for this trainer; more now? (6) BUNGALOW BILL N reunites with Gingras from a better post and could fire out. (1) JEFF'S JOURNEY comes out of the same race as the top pick and on that class-dropping angle alone he deserves some consideration. Race 15: Non-winners $2,500 (NW L3 or FM $2,750) in last 5/TM 78 (NW L3/5 78.5/79) (2) SCIROCCO PATRICK was a convincing winner in this class two starts back and unless one of these steps up in a big way, he looks tough as the odds-on chalk. (4) ST JAMES GATE stayed flat in his last mile and it is a positive sign that the trainer will hand the lines over to a catch-driver. (10) HENDERSON SEELSTER is another coming off a better performance. The class is there if he has his act together. (6) SKYWAY TINACIOUS drops and picks up a new driver.
