FALL MEET STATS: 278-89-48-37 / $640.40 (+$84.40) BEST BETS: 21-8-3-2 / $24.00 (-$18.00) SPOT PLAYS: 21-8-2-3 / $44.80 (+$2.80) BEST BET: GET SOME CASH (4th) SPOT PLAY: MANHATTAN PROJECT (11th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Pick 5 (6) ROCK THE CAPTAIN N was flat when it counted last week and now he returns with Lasix added to the equation. Four-year-old lands in the amateur ranks tonight and picks up a very capable driver despite his poor win record on the meet. (2) ROJAN’S WAY moves to the inside of the gate after wiring the field from post seven last time; always a threat in these races. (5) ARTIST BEST hasn’t been able to get involved from post eight in his last two. Moving to the middle of the field gives this guy options. (3) ROCK ON LINE is another getting post relief but he still needs a fast pace to capitalize on. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70.3) or less (1) VINTAGE GAL hasn’t been racing very well but clearly catches one of the softer fields she has seen. At least she should be able to work out a decent trip by showing early speed from the pylons. (4) EA MUSHU has multiple wins at this level in 2025 and looms as the one to beat. (2) AMAZING WISH hasn’t been on the big track in a long time but was timed once in 1:54 and change at Mohawk, so at least you know she is fast enough. It’s unclear how she fits in this field, though it won’t get much easier. Race 3: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - Survivor 7 (4) AMERICA’S GUEST was on quite a roll before tackling better foes last time. Veteran pacer switches to the amateur ranks now and looks like a great fit. (3) MASTER MIKI missed by just a nose in his last try versus amateur types two starts back. (8) SAMSUN OF A BEACH ships down from Vernon in fine form and seems likely to be hustled away from the gate. Race 4: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2 76.50) or less (2) GET SOME CASH got blindswitched on the final turn and finished up his mile well once clear in the stretch. Six-year-old seems worth following. (1) DOMINION DAY draws much better in his second start over the track; worth consideration. (4) IM THE MUSCLE stole the race last week on the engine with some very slow fractions. 10-year-old is more than capable but does switch to a driver with amateur status. Race 5: Trackmaster 77.5 (NW L2/L4 79.55/80.25) or less (9) MIZ CAPTAIN CRUZE takes a step up the TM ladder but won ultra-impressively upon debut here. There seems to be enough early speed on the outside of the gate to set her up again and I think new driver Ryder will fit nicely. (7) ANIMATION was short in her first start for this barn after missing more than three weeks; more now? (5) REMI LOU A won two straight before getting in too tough last time. She should be able to compete here with the right setup. (6) MS FRANCES ASSISI was second best in her first try since early September. Can she handle the tougher class? Race 6: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace - $50K GTD Pick 4 I don’t pick (2) YER SO BAD very often but this seems like a prime spot due to and inside post and the presence of outside speed. Driver Harrison just needs to be patient and hope for a clear path. (1) SELECT FRIDAY may not be at the top of his game right now but he’s had the best year of any of these. It won’t take much improvement to get him home first. (9) DUCK INTO THE NITE and (8) FRAZIER HANOVER are two capable horses with early speed in their arsenal. Either one could visit the winner’s circle with a good setup. Race 7: Non-winners $7,500 (NW L2 $8,250) in last 5/TM 83.5 (NW L2/3YO 85.5/85.8) or less (5) PERFIDIOUS CROWN hasn’t been out in a few weeks, which is never ideal, but you had to come away impressed with that effort where she left, came uncovered and pulled away in her first start back from more than two months on the sidelines. Even a repeat of that mile should get the job done. (4) IDEAL SKIES comes to town with early speed and plenty of form. She came her during the winter last year too and picked up three wins and a number of placings. (7) WUNDERKINDBLUECHIP scored at first asking for new connections and wasn’t bad when up in class last time. She’s an interesting shipper. (3) LAURIE LEE rallied off favorable fractions most recently to be second. It is worth noting that she hasn’t won here in almost three years despite more than a dozen starts. Race 8: $10,000-$12,500 Claiming Handicap - Pick 6 The connections of (8) MEDOLAND BOSA are pulling out all the stops to wake him up, dropping him two levels on the claiming ladder and adding Lasix. He’s only reached the $10K claimers twice in his career – both in Kentucky – and won both starts. (7) SEIZE CONTROL drops in for a tag for the first time in a while. Back in April and May he was a successful $12,500/$15,000 claimer. (5) LAZARULS never got involved last time but has done some of his best work in the claiming ranks. That said, two wins in 60 career starts means playing him underneath in the exotics seems best. (1) FREDNECK figures to fire off the gate from the inside and sit a decent trip. I’d use him in the lower exotics. Race 9: Trackmaster 74.5 (NW L2 76.55) or less (4) LOOT dropped into this class a couple of starts back but was first over two starts back and then landed post nine last time. There are no excuses in this spot. (1) TWIN B EMPRESS could perk up on the return to the big track. She was a winner in TM77 here in late 2024. (2) SWEET NAN has proven quite adept at sitting close to the pace and getting a piece of the exotics. We’ll use her in that light here. Race 10: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,500) in last 5/TM 80.5 (NW L2 82.5) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 We didn’t learn very much about (4) DONATO PATRIOT K in his qualifier since he followed every step of the mile and was never asked for speed. Still, it was a positive performance and if new trainer Joe Bongiorno has him figured out a win is very likely. (7) DJIMON seems to be moving in the right direction now for Lachance. Five-year-old is certainly fast enough to win in this class when feeling good and he gets an interesting driver change to Ahle tonight. (8) MEDLEY SEELSTER has appeared in this class a number of times and gotten good checks. I can see using her underneath in the exotics. (1) HOOFBEATS DE VIE has early speed and good form; faces tougher tonight. Race 11: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,500) in last 5/TM 80.5 (NW L2 82.5) or less (5) MANHATTAN PROJECT added Lasix for her return qualifier and was kept covered up by a gapper the entire way. She finished up under a hold while never shown daylight. Mare is certainly fast enough to compete here and maybe with no apparent form and Beckwith choosing off, she’ll blow up the board. (6) GOING AWAY raced very well again but caught a slow pace last time that compromised her chances; using in Pick 4. (3) PRIDEFUL moves inside on the gate and should easily be able to get the front without working hard and ultimately sit a decent trip. Race 12: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73) or less (4) DREAM PILLAR should be tight enough in her first race since May after chasing in fast fractions through her qualifier last week. This field lacks a standout or much form, so I’ll take a shot that she is fresh and ready. (8) PRINCESS AMERICA has some early speed and was second in this class most recently. (7) LADYZAR was surely going to be third last week when interfered by the two horses in front of her who locked wheels. Neither of those foes are in this race and that moves her up the contenders list. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73.55) or less (9) SEVEN LICK PRISE came here last December when Saratoga closed but was in against much tougher competition. While he got a class drop up north about a month ago, he was stuck with outside posts week after week. Picking up Beckwith, I’ll give him a try. (5) POKER PLAY never got involved from post nine on arrival. Eight-year-old could be flashing early speed this week. (3) MASSTER BLUE not only has early speed but also good form. He’s been good to use underneath of late. Race 14: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70.3) or less Here is a rare TM68 with plenty of horses with good lines. (5) PULL ME THROUGH drops back down and was a winner when last seen in TM68. She also reunites with Kennedy who got speed out of her at both ends of the mile. (3) SACAGAWEA has a win and a second in her last two tries at this level. (6) MISS YOU JOANN certainly has the early speed to make the front and she should get a slice of the exotics. (9) COSTA DIVA is stuck outside but is another with enough early zip to get into play. She faced plenty of traffic last week but was second best late. (1) PHELGON should work out a better trip than she had last time.
