MEET STATS: 11 - 41 / $65.00 (-$17.00) BEST BETS: 2 - 3 / $6.80 (+$0.80) SPOT PLAYS: 0 - 3 / $0.00 (-$6.00) BEST BET - DOCTOR BUTCH (12th) SPOT PLAY - TONY TOO TALL (9th) Race 1 - F&M TrackMaster Rating 84 or Less as of 12-28-21 Pace *$38,923.56 Pick 5 Carryover* (7) ANYTIME N rolled in the Winners-Over/Open Handicap at Saratoga on 12-21 in her first start for trainer Melissa Beckwith, and I believe will fit in against these. (3) CHECKERED PAST invades from Yonkers in solid form and has been facing some good competition. (8) THE FUN MARSHALL won at the Meadowlands last year and also exits the Open level up at Saratoga. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2 - GSY Series Final Pace (3) GALACTIC GALLEON N comes into this race with no wins in 2021, but there should be plenty of action in this amateur series final, and he has closed ground in his GSY appearances. (2) CECIL CASANOVA looks like the one to beat as he should get pace to chase to set up his rallying style. (9) R MADDY BLUE CHIP is another one I could see coming with a late brush from off-the-pace, and I'll include. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3 - 20000-30000CLM HCP Pace (3) ARRHYTHMIC SURGE wound up scratched out of a scheduled appearance on 12-18, but his trainer has sent out a couple of winners at the meet, he took his mark on the big track at Vernon, and he could appreciate getting off the half-miler at Yonkers. (1) BNGS EXPRESS was victorious in this claiming class on December 18, and his trainer has been sending out some live horses since coming in from the Midwest. (8) BALLERAT BOOMERANG drew poorly in his last two at Yonkers and is stuck outside again, but he faced tougher across the river and might be handled aggressively. Race 4 - 12500-17500CLM HCP Pace (7) DULL ROAR had a bunch of success at the Meadowlands earlier in 2021 and makes his second start tonight since returning from Saratoga. (1) INFORCE has hit the board in three straight tries in this class and was claimed on December 17. (10) GIBUS didn't have a very good experience at The Big M on 11-26 when he was wiped out in an accident, but he rebounded with a rallying effort that resulted in a second-place finish on 12-17. Race 5 - 20000-30000CLM HCP Pace (9) PERFECTBOY HANOVER ships in from Yonkers having been second or third in his last five starts and picks up Scott Zeron. (2) WAY TO CLOSE dominated in this class on 12-18 and is back with Jenn Bongiorno after being claimed. (3) JUST N ACE has been knocking on the door through December and hails from the high-percentage Izzy Estrada barn. Race 6 - 20000-30000CLM HCP Pace *$50,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 Pool* (8) MINDTRIP is back with trainer Dylan Davis after being claimed on December 18. Davis has always gotten along well with this horse, and I expect him to fire. (1) COOL BLUES MAN switched things up to race on the front on 12-18 and wound up third. His win on 11-27 came from off-the-pace, so let's see if the connections change styles again. (10) ROLLING WITH SAM has been racing well out of town and has also been claimed in two straight events. Trainer Dan Morrissey has won with two of his three starters this fall at the Meadowlands, too. Race 7 - 7500-10000CLM HCP Pace (1) ROCKNROLL CAPTAIN makes his second start against bottom level claiming company tonight. I'll be hoping he can follow along on the inside and maybe pick them off in the stretch. (3) OPUS BLUE CHIP was supposed to race on 12-22 at Monticello but was scratched sick. He closed in 27 and change in two tries at the Meadowlands prior to that, and I believe he's usable. (7) ROCKIN RAMBARAN certainly stands out in here form-wise, and is probably the one they'll have to knock off. Race 8 - NW2500L5/TrackMaster Rating 79 or Less as of 12-28-21 Pace *$6,131.95 Pick 6 Carryover* (7) LYONS LIBERTY will be a play for me based on the trainer change to Nik Drennan. The scratch on 12-11 and subsequent time off is a bit of a concern, but Drennan is always capable of having one ready to fire, and there aren't any standouts in here. (4) BIG SWEEP OSBORNE comes in off a pair of excuse lines and has been victorious at the Meadowlands before. (9) PICKLED PREACHER doesn't have much in the way of form, but this is probably the easiest spot he's been in lately. Race 9 - 50000-60000CLM HCP Pace (3) TONY TOO TALL gets to stretch his legs out tonight after racing over at Yonkers and also has a good post here after several outside draws over in New York. (5) BET NINETEEN was victorious on December 11 and then had no chance in a 1:48 and change mile on 12-18. This is probably a chance for him to threaten again. (8) KINNDER JACKSON showed his Yonkers form was no accident on the 18th of December when he finished second to a romping winner at The Big M. He merits inclusion on the ticket. Race 10 - 75000-100000CLM HCP Pace *$50,000 Guaranteed Pick 4 Pool* (6) DELIGHTFUL TERROR suffered from the bad post blues over at Yonkers in his last two starts, but he was sharp prior to that, and driver Billy Dobson might be keen to take advantage of a chance to pilot a Ron Burke horse. (5) PRINCE MCARDLE N races out of the Estrada barn and was third after taking the lead from first-over in his last try over there on December 13. (10) SAN DOMINO A overcame post nine to finish second on the 18th of December and faces a similar situation here from the ten-hole. He's wrapping up a solid campaign with seven wins and over $160,000 in the bank. Race 11 - NW4000L5/TrackMaster Rating 81 or Less as of 12-28-21/Not 3rd Last 4 Starts Trot (1) ZLATAN reunites with Vinny Ginsburg in the bike tonight, and I think he's in a class he can do some damage in. (5) HALLIAMA was second against NW7000L5's at the Meadowlands back on December 3 and picks up a catch driver tonight in Luke Hanners. (8) SKYWAY KON MAN is probably overdue for a win and has Scott Zeron to pilot him again. Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 12 - TrackMaster Rating 74 or Less as of 12-28-21 Pace (1) DOCTOR BUTCH shifts over from the GSY Series and can probably out-class these TrackMaster 74 foes. (6) GETTIN GONE is a 3-year-old filly facing mainly older foes, but she did race well here on 12-17 and then picked up a check against NW5's at Harrah's Philadelphia on Christmas Eve. (7) OUTRAGEOUS STORY also exits amateur events and gets Scott Zeron to drive. Race 13 - NW2500L5/Winners Base Class NW1500 or Less Last Start/TrackMaster Rating 78 or Less as of 12-28-21 Trot (7) HENDERSON SEELSTER sometimes miscues at the gate like he did on 12-10, but the drop to the bottom level tonight is tough to ignore, and as long as he minds his p's and q's, he should be tough. (5) MUSCLE JACK took a bunch of wagering action at Yonkers on December 9 in his first start for Jeff Gillis but broke before the start. He may enjoy the chance to race on the mile oval. (1) FUNKY BISCUIT has been a pretty reliable check-getter against NW2's, NW3's, and NW5's out of town. Trainer Juan Cano is always capable of having one ready for a sharp effort as well. Race 14 - Bring On 2022 Series Final Pace (8) SARANAC BLUE CHIP tallied in both legs of this series. He looms as a much shorter price tonight, but I will use. (3) FRONTIER ROLLO tossed in a clunker over at Yonkers in his last try, but he was very good at the Meadowlands prior to that, and I could see him bouncing back. (1) MUSTANG BEACH was a good second to my top pick from a trailing post on 12-18 and has a spot on the gate tonight.
