MEET STATS: 195-56-25-30 / $287.20 (-$102.80) BEST BETS: 14-9-1-0 / $32.10 (+$4.10) SPOT PLAYS: 12-3-1-1 / $11.60 (-$12.40) BEST BET: BADDITUDE (2nd) SPOT PLAY: FIRSTUP (7th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 - Pick 5 (9) ROCK ON LINE takes a significant drop out of the MADC 2 class. While the post isn’t ideal, he can take some air and live to tell about it. (8) WHAMMER JAMMER made the same condition move a few starts back and has been right there each week with no wins to show for it. (4) CLOUDBREAK has been used hard on the engine week after week. Without too much speed to his outside, perhaps the trip won’t be as taxing this time. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75) or less - Survivor 7 (3) BADDITUDE just missed versus a better group last time and while she’s had trouble getting the final yards of the mile, she seems a bit too fast for these. (6) COOLNCALCULATING N was understandably short after missing quite a bit of time and could be interesting here at good odds. (8) BULLVILLEKARLA has been the victim of some less than ideal trips lately. If she is sent towards the front maybe she can surprise. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Non-winners $3,000 in last 4/TM 77 (NW L2/2L4 77.5/78) or less (2) FIX-IT-UP has been on this track before with Bongiorno so I imagine he’ll be ready to go at first asking for the new barn and might even offer a smidge of value given the trainer change on (9) CHAKE to the top Engblom barn. The 4-year-old only has one win this year but don’t be shocked if a big wake-up occurs here. (7) LIGHTNINGFAST had some go from post nine last time out and now moves in a couple of slots on the gate. (6) ALLINDOTIME hasn’t missed the board in some time and did lure Boyd off the top pick; bad decision? Race 4: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 - $64,543 Pick 8 Carryover We kick off the big carryover with an amateur race but one that at least looks playable without pressing the ALL button. (7) HARRY HANOVER has been used hard of late and been left with nothing left late. Now he adds Lasix and perhaps that will give him a bit more go when it counts. (5) MASK ON MASK OFF lands in a pretty good shot in his return to the amateur ranks and I wouldn’t be shocked to see early speed this week. (8) TAKEITTOTHEFACE has gone some good miles in this class and only needs a reasonable trip to threaten. Race 5: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74/75.01) or less (1) JUST WAVE GOODBYE raced evenly despite a perfect drive by Ginsburg last time. He moves to the inside of the gate now but more importantly has a start over the track to get down to speed after racing on the half at Monticello previously. (8) TKO BLUE CHIP is a standout in terms of form but really isn’t faster than any of these. He’s probably a must-use in the Pick 8 but not a horse I’d want to key. (9) ROCKABILLY CHARM gets a catch-driver back in the bike and one who is willing to fire out. Maybe we see speed tonight? (4) SHORE OF HIMSELF exits the amateur ranks and the driver tags along. His best is good enough. Race 6: Non-winners $7,500 (3YO $8,805) in last 4/TM 83.5 or less/NW 4 races life - $50K GTD Pick 4 (5) CAVIART DAVIA was used early last time and paid the price. Notice her 1:49 2/5 win in this class back in late October. (4) BEACH MOMENT is perfect in two starts since coming down to The Meadowlands. Five-year-old has early speed and should be in play with a big shot. While it was versus lesser competition, you have to respect the performance by (2) LET’S MISBEHAVE upon arrival at The Meadowlands. There is no reason to believe she won’t race well again, though a note the huge driver downgrade. (8) ILLUSION SEELSTER has found her form lately and is coming off a big win; don’t ignore. Race 7: Non-winners $3,000 (NW L2 $3,300) in last 4/TM 77.5 (NW L2/2L4 78/78.75) or less (1) FIRSTUP could be a sneaky pay here. She’s been stuck in some fast miles lately from outside posts and really hasn’t been able to take advantage of the class drops. Now she picks up Boyd off a mile where he finished well and owns three wins on the track this year. (4) ALLAMBIE A drops down and draws well. She was second in this class a few starts back. (2) DARK ECLIPSE N and (3) THE CHARGING MOA N both arrive from Saratoga with enough credentials to compete. (10) PHENOM SEELSTER looks bad on paper but moves into the Engblom barn and could improve. Race 8: Trackmaster 77 (NW L2/2L4 77.5/78 & NW 1 since 10/6 79.61) or less - Pick 6 (9) BEACH CHIEF comes off a monster performance at Rosecroft and was pretty good the start prior as well. This guy clearly has his issues but possesses raw speed that the others lack and could just be feeling good now. (3) BIONIC got away from the amateur races and had a form reversal. He may not take much money but can certainly compete. (1) UNIQUE BEACH is first-time Lasix and lured Beckwith off #’s 3 and 8; maybe. (8) WHIMSICAL JOURNEY simply hung last time, though it is worth pointing out that the final time was pretty quick considering this group. Race 9: Non-winners $5,000 in last 4/TM 80 or less My gut feeling is that (1) HAZYSHADEOFWINTERS is going to be ready for a big mile in her return here after an improved performance last time. That said, it is just a feeling and if wrong this race is wide-open for the taking. (4) MATCH MY MIRACLE should make the front easily enough and could easily control the tempo. (3) CREDARENA was Boyd’s choice over three others. (6) MARION GONDOLIER dropped to this class last time and was just even; moves in a few posts now. Race 10: Non-winners $12,500 (NW L2 $13,750) in last 4 or $16,751 in last 5/TM 86.5 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (4) EASY TO PLEASE had no shot last time from an outside post. Now she draws much better and has options, either to gun to the top or hope the outside speed sets up a late rally. (5) PROBERT has been up against him closing from the back at Yonkers. Let’s see how she does stretching out on the big track. (2) GOT SEXY SCARS has plenty of speed and decent form. She should be in good position to at least get a board spot. (8) BOORAA N finished ahead of #5 last time and she’s another with the early speed to be dangerous. Race 11: Non-winners $7,500 in last 4 or $1 in last 3/TM 82.5 or less (3) BONTONI DEGATO S raced on the rim for two turns at Yonkers and lost to the horse he supplied cover for in his stateside debut. You can expect him to show more in start two. (4) MISSILE has been outracing his odds of late and seems very capable of handling this class rise. (1) STABLE GENIUS seems to be coming off an awful performance but only if you ignore that he is coming out of a race that went in 1:52 1/5. He can play with these. Race 12: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,500) in last 4/TM 80.5 (NW L2/2L4 81/81.65) or less (2) AVF CLAIRE has been up against it trying to close from the back of the pack lately at Yonkers. Here she can sit just off the pace and have a chance to pounce late. (7) SHEZAFREAKLIKEME was extremely sharp in victory last time but she faces slightly better and loses her driver to the top pick. When horses get good for this barn they usually stay sharp for a little while. (1) LARJON LEAH also comes in from Yonkers. She’s won over this track before. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: $7,500 Claiming (5) ILLINI DUKE switched to this track last time and closed well from a tough spot. He moves to a much better post this week and has won over this oval before. (6) SGT PAPA DADDY has the early speed to roll to the top and wouldn’t be a shock on the win end if left alone. (3) WINWOOD JACK was awful last time but was great prior to that; don’t ignore. Race 14: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4 71.5/72) or less (8) MAKE IT BIG raced well in his first try for this barn and there is no reason to think he can’t step up in start two versus a soft field. (5) LINCOLN BOULEVARD drops to the basement Trackmaster condition and is certainly worthy of consideration. (4) ALWAYS A FORCE was better in his second start off the bench, closing with a 27 1/5 final quarter. Veteran is capable if ready to fire his best.
