MEET STATS: 167-45-21-29 / $210.40 (-$123.60) BEST BETS: 12-9-1-0 / $32.10 (+$8.10) SPOT PLAYS: 10-2-1-1 / $9.00 (-$11.00) BEST BET: HIGH BALLER (2nd) SPOT PLAY: NEVER EASY Z TAM (4th) Race 1: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 - Pick 5 None of these really jump off the page for me so I’ll try (1) AINTNOBETTOR A at what should be a fair price. He rallied well last time and should get into good position from the inside post and have a chance to pounce on the early speed players. (3) SHORE OF HIMSELF hated being uncovered last time and also stopped when hung out the start prior. If Yogi can finally get him a good trip maybe the results will be much better. (6) FERDINAND A will be heading to the front and could be dangerous if left alone. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Non-winners $2,000 in last 4 - Survivor 7 (3) HIGH BALLER displayed some signs of life last time and won’t find a much softer spot than he lands in tonight. (8) NAZARE gets some clear class relief upon arrival from Philly and should be strongly considered for your Pick 5 tickets. (1) MAXIMUM IDEAL moves to the big track and could get into the number. Race 3: Non-winners 2 (NW L2 or 2-3yo 3) races or $20,000 (NW L2 or 2-3yo 3) life (5) TREACHEROUSDAME was a bit flat in her first start in two months last time. The field she faced was much better than this group and she should have a chance to shine at reasonable odds with Borjas driving. (4) PULL THROUGH has done well since moving to the big track. (3) TIME OUT HANOVER is the fastest filly in the field on paper but hasn’t been on the track in four weeks. Race 4: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Handicap - $8,180 Pick 8 Carryover Don’t underestimate the difference between MADC 1 and MADC 2. (8) NEVER EASY Z TAM was sneaky good last time as he was stuck in traffic. Here he takes the meaningful drop in class and could surprise some. (10) WHAMMER JAMMER comes out of the same race as the top pick and went off the favorite that night. The post isn’t ideal here but there seems to be enough early speed to set up a late rally. (5) BLUEBERRY HEAVEN is certainly sharp; needs decent trip. Race 5: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2/2L4 71.5/72) or less/Opt. $7,500 Clm. (7) SPORTS HERO and (8) TEXAS MIKI both enjoy this class and one of them should win unless the trip goes bad or another horse steps up unexpectedly. (6) MARVALOUS ONE returns from a long break in action but is certainly fast enough if ready. Race 6: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,515) in last 4 or $1 in last 3/TM 80.5 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 The Pick 4 starts out with a difficult race that will require plenty of coverage. With that, let’s roll the dice on longshot (7) BOLT OF BEAUTY. Six-year-old was right on the gate and prepared to leave in her first start in from Yonkers but found too much company with similar thoughts to her inside. Like many in here, she drops in class and certainly could awaken. (2) PRANCING QUEEN was used in a fast pace and paid the price last time; can rebound. (4) BEACH MOMENT comes down from Canada off a good mile and seems like a nice fit. (5) CHEVRONS BYPASS N had some late pace and finished ahead of the top pick in her most recent appearance. (9) SHELTER IN PACE remains plenty sharp and only needs a smooth journey to contend. Race 7: Non-winners $7,500 (NW 2L5 $8,451) in last 4/TM 82.5 (NW L2/2L4/2L6 83/83.51/84) or less (3) MYSTICAL WYNN faced a much better field last week and this NW7500 seems very soft. Any reasonable trip should find him as a major contender. (5) STARLIT RAMBO has good form and finished close in this class two starts back. (4) PENCILS DOWN was stuck in post 10 last time and in against tougher prior to that; contender. (9) PAPA DOC could be a player if his ability translates to the mile track. Race 8: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 2 - $13,662 Pick 6 Carryover (3) ITS SHOWTIME missed by just a neck in this class two starts back and should have no problem making the front for position. If he isn’t pushed too hard by others the race could be over. (8) T DOG and (9) ROCK ON LINE are two very capable closers that have done very well in this class. (4) PRINCE MCARDLE N has been sharp since moving to the Izzy Estrada barn. Race 9: Non-winners $5,000 (NW L2 $5,501) in last 4/TM 80 (NW L2/2L4/2L8 80.5/81/81.3) or less (8) NO TURNING BACK hasn’t been out in a month but does move into the Burke barn and adds a young aggressive driver in Beckwith. Improvement is certainly expected but don’t take an odds-on price. (10) BONANZA has been a winning machine and only has to figure out how to conquer post 10 to do it again. Driver comes in from Europe and is very capable. (2) IMA DIAMOND BABE has been better since the barn change and perhaps he’ll perk up further on the big track. Race 10: Non-winners $7,500 in last 4/TM 83.5 (NW L2/2L4/2L6 84/84.5/85) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (2) CELIA B MONEY was an easy winner on November 10 over the track and really didn’t race much worse last time but caught a tougher field. She fits nicely in this spot in terms of pure speed and should be a major contender. (7) TWIN B ECHO has raced well in both attempts at this level; trip threat. (5) SWEDISH STARLET N comes in from Pocono where she was racing well. If ready to fire after missing a month, she’s a player. Race 11: Trackmaster 74 (NW L2/2L4 74.5/75) or less/Opt. $10,000 Clm. This is a tricky race. Let’s try (4) PHELGON, who has been stuck in outside posts at Freehold in a somewhat higher class than a bunch of these. Notice he has a 1:51 3/5 win over the track from 2022 on his record. (2) SHES A LIVE WIRE has been ultra-consistent with no recent wins to show for it. (3) BETTE TINA comes in off a good mile and I like the driver change. She has some excuses for her failures but at some point they wear out as she is winless in 29 starts this year. Race 12: Non-winners $3,000 (NW L2 $3,300) in last 4/TM 77 (NW L2/2L4 77.5/78) or less (3) SHINKANSEN gets post and class relief. Six-year-old has done his best work near the front and don’t be surprised if we see new tactics here. (5) ALLINDOTIME is the only other horse in the field that seems likely to show early speed and that could set him up nicely for a big piece. (2) GOTWUTEVERITTAKES will win if he decides to show up, but that is a 50/50 proposition at best. Race 13: Non-winners $3,000 in last 4/TM 77.5 (NW L2/2L4 78/78.75) or less Here's another impossible race to handicap. (10) WESTERN ROSIE exits claimers where she was doing ok from outside posts. Maybe new driver Callahan will fire her up behind the gate and take a shot. (8) NITE TIME DEAL drops a class. She has some early speed in her arsenal and might take a shot. (6) SHEZAFREAKLIKEME disappointed last time out but is very capable of crushing this field. Race 14: Non-winners 2 (2&3yo 3) races or $20,000 NW L2 or 2&3yo $30,000) life/TM 78.15 or less (8) NARANJO comes to town off consecutive breaks but there is reason to believe that the switch to the big track and barn change could make a difference. This stable has only missed the board once in 12 starts during the meet. (5) ITS YOUR CHOICE moves into the Burke barn and will take plenty of money; serious contender. (2) ICE CREAM gets clear class relief but really hasn’t proven much and now takes on her elders.
