FALL MEET STATS: 175-56-30-29 / $381.40 (+$31.40) BEST BETS: 13-5-2-2 / $14.40 (-$11.60) SPOT PLAYS: 13-5-2-3 / $30.60 (+$4.60) BEST BET: JULIE PALEMA (6th) SPOT PLAY: WHO SAID I CAN’T (14th) Race 1: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70) or less - Pick 5 (3) TOUGH LAZ and (6) BIG JACK HAMMER own awful career records in the win column with one victory between them from 83 starts. That said, both seem to be moving in the right direction in recent starts. In a field like this one, why not swing for the fences on longshots? (8) BIG BAD BILL goes for three straight and could be the chalk in here. While he has the best resume he’s hardly a lock. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Trackmaster 71 (NW 2L4/L10 73.09/73.94) or less (5) ADMIRAL DEO seemed to find himself very late in the mile last week and perhaps Ryder learned a little something after sitting behind the 4-year-old. In a blank field, I’ll take the stab here at a big price. (8) SPORTY BOB has the early speed to fire to the top and I wouldn’t be shocked if he went a long way. (4) LEON DAVID wasn’t bad off the bench. He has a touch of class to him. (1) THE WILL TO PLAY has multiple sub 1:53 miles to his credit and that alone makes him a major player. Race 3: NJSDF 2YO C&G Trot - Survivor 7 (2) WHO’S EYES BLUES has been a bit disappointing this year despite making over $172K. Chapter Seven-sired youngster gets major class relief and should get sharp in a hurry. (1) TRILLION TIMES did all he could last time but the pace was too slow for him to menace. He should be firing out from the cones. (5) LINDY LIVING also has some early speed and should have an exotics shot. Race 4: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70) or less (3) ROCKABILLY CHARM does his best work when on or near the front and finds himself in a situation tonight where that is a strong possibility if Beck with gets aggressive. In a dull field, maybe this guy can awaken. (9) FULL DISCLOSURE moves into a new barn and shows the pure speed to whip these on his best. (5) STONE COLD SAVAGE moves into a better post and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him show early zip this time. Race 5: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70.30) or less (1) EA MUSHU is the type of horse that gets brave when he lands in a very soft spot and this is one of those moments in time. She moves to the inside of the gate and should find some early speed. (7) MISS YOU JOANN drops to the level of her last win. She’s another with speed off the gate when the situation is right. (6) CUTTING HUMOR displayed some late pace a week ago and could finally be coming around after a very dry year. Race 6: NJSDF 2YO Filly Trot - Pick 4 (2) JULIE PALEMA seems like a complete standout on paper. She did some good work in the Bluegrass state and really had no shot upon arrival here. (4) BASELITZ should flash some early speed and be in the best position to round out the exacta. (5) R GEM beat the rest of these last time in the NJSDF and was a decent second prior to that. Race 7: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace (7) HASHTAG MONEY and (9) ROJAN’S WAY are both very fast off the gate with drivers known for showing big early speed. One of them is certainly going to make the top and they could be sitting one-two. Let’s use both in the Pick 4. (1) SUNSHINE’S FINEST should be at home in this class and only needs a ground saving trip and some clearance to have a shot on the win end. (5) COLE ON THE BEACH came up with a big mile last time; another threat with the right trip. Race 8: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73.25) or less - Pick 6 (1) IM THE MUSCLE took a step in the right direction last time by coming home in a credible 29 2/5. I’ll take that as a positive sign this classy old guy might be ready to show more versus a very shaky group. (6) BARRANCOS broke in his last try here but his lines say he can go with these if another mistake doesn’t surface. (5) MASSTER BLUE has big early speed but isn’t very reliable in terms of the end of the mile; using more underneath. Race 9: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace (2) GOOD ROCKIN is a horse I’ve been avoiding the last couple of weeks as he just hasn’t been on his best game. I thought last week was his best performance in a while and the inside post will allow him to perhaps get some early separation on the field. (1) ALTA BLUES A took advantage of a good setup and rolled to a nice win. The post is ideal for another sweet trip. (6) GRACEFUL GALA gunned down the road a week ago and remains a repeat threat. (9) WHAMMER JAMMER can take air and keep coming. He’ll need some luck starting from the outside. Race 10: Trackmaster 68 (NW L2 70.30) or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (8) THANEEYA seemed to have some late pace at the end of the mile last time after a bad trip where she was stacked up last on the rim. Mare has some early speed in her arsenal and maybe it will come out tonight at nice odds. (2) HD LABBATOY and (1) VINTAGE GAL are both drawn well and coming off decent miles. Either one could win but neither is very enticing at under 5-1, which is very possible. Race 11: Meadowlands Amateur Drivers Club 1 Pace Trainer/driver Mark Silva is going to take one look at this field and realize that this is the week to have (4) FRAZIER HANOVER ready to fire off the gate. He may not win so don’t take a short price, but I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t hit the exotics. (2) LOU ON THE BEACH seems to be in a somewhat softer spot this week and the post is certainly ideal. (7) RONA MAE was burnt going for the lead last weekend and should be able to work out an easier trip and have a shot tonight. Race 12: Trackmaster 71 (NW L2 73.57) or less (4) REMI LOU A comes off an encouraging effort here last weekend and I believe she can move forward off that mile. (5) THE FUTURE IS HERE was used too hard to get the front most recently. You would think the path would be easier tonight. (7) SPROUT also has big gate speed. She’s hit the board in four of her last five starts. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 13: $7,500-$10,000 Claiming Handicap (5) BARON MICHAEL dealt with traffic issues in the stretch and certainly had pace while never clear. Veteran pacer hooks back up the hot Ahle tonight and hopefully will be put in play. (6) AMERICA’S GUEST comes to town with plenty of form and seems worth strong consideration. (3) LYONS LIBERTY has ability but has been off form. Barn change off the claim could turn things around in a hurry. Race 14: Trackmaster 71 (NW 2L4/L10 73.09/73.94) or less (8) WHO SAID I CAN’T returned from many months on the sidelines for a new barn and rolled down the road impressively. Anything close to that effort tonight should mean more winner’s circle pictures. (4) SPIRIT OF TRUTH had a bad trip two starts back when last at this level. Tonight the starting post is much better. (9) VANDALISM is also moving down the Trackmaster ladder. He’ll be a huge price and may improve. (2) GOOD INVESTMENT has some early speed and should be close to the action; using on the bottom of the exotics.
