Mirage Hanover, Caviart Belle and Rocket Deo got the job done in Tompkins-Geers Stakes for sophomore pacers of both sexes on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

In the $71,100 test for colts and geldings, Mirage Hanover (Tim Tetrick) led through fractions of 27 2/5, 56 and 1:23 1/5 on his way to a 1:49 victory. He defeated pocket-sitter Captain Hansen (David Miller) by 6 1/4 lengths, with McCrunch (Andy McCarthy) third.

A Bettor's Delight colt bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, Mirage Hanover is trained by Jake Leamon for owner Marvin Rounick. Mirage Hanover is now a seven-time winner, has earned $256,868 and paid $3.40 to win.

Caviart Belle (Yannick Gingras) won the first $28,500 flight for the fillies from first-over in 1:50 1/5. Stonecoldtreachery (Bob McClure), who was in the pocket through stations of 27 1/5, 55 2/5 and 1:23, had traffic issues in the lane but found room late and closed to get second and Tarrific (Patrick Ryder) sprinted a 26 2/5 final quarter from third-over to round out the top three.

Rocket Deo (McCarthy) found room on the inside in the lane from the pocket and captured the other $29,000 division for fillies in 1:49 3/5. Sweet Gal (Tetrick) rallied from second-over to give trainer Brett Pelling a 1-2 finish and Flawless (Dexter Dunn), who put up the 27 1/5 quarter, 55 1/5 half and 1:23 three-quarters, faded to third.

The victorious Captaintreacherous filly was bred by Deo Volente Farms LLC. and T L P Stable and is owned by Morrison Racing Stables and John Fielding. Rocket Deo has been victorious in half of her 12 outings, pushed her bankroll to $122,326 and paid $7.20 to win.
