Me and Mr. C takes Soldier's Dancer, caps Zayas' big day

Me and Mr. C won the $65,000 Soldier’s Dancer on Sunday at Gulfstream Park to give jockey Edgard Zayas a sweep of the card’s stakes – and a total of four wins on the program.
Tamarindo captured the $65,000 Ginger Punch under Zayas and was one of three winners on the card trained by Saffie Joseph Jr.
The stakes were for Florida-breds at one mile, 70 yards on Tapeta.
Me and Mr. C ($4.60) settled in fourth along the rail in the early going Sunday, was moved off the fence on the final turn, came five wide into the stretch, and rolled home. He won by 1 1/2 lengths over Lure Him In and covered the distance in 1:40.97.
Zayas was aboard for Mike Maker, who trains Me and Mr. C for Paradise Farms and David Staudacher. The winner is a son of Khozan.
Tamarindo ($17.40) stalked a moderate pace of six furlongs in 1:14.23, then caught 1-5 favorite Beth’s Dream nearing the wire for a 1 1/2-length win in the Ginger Punch. It was another half-length back in third to Prettykeen.
Tamarindo covered the distance in 1:42.66. She is a daughter of Into Mischief who races for Stefania Farms.
The other winners for Zayas on Sunday were also trained by Joseph: Mish ($4.40) in the sixth race and Midnight Bella ($2.80) in the eighth.
