McLaughlin's Fritchie fillies work before storm

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – With an impending storm likely to interrupt training for at least two mornings, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin moved up workouts for his pair of fillies who are targeting the Grade 2, $300,000 Barbara Fritchie at Laurel on Feb. 18.
Takrees, the winner of the Interborough Stakes at Aqueduct on Jan. 22, worked a half-mile in 51.16 seconds over the Belmont Park training track. She went her first quarter in 25.91 seconds and her second quarter in 25.25.
Clothes Fall Off, fifth in the Interborough, worked a half-mile in 50.54.
Joe Lee, assistant to McLaughlin, said both fillies had just run and didn’t need to do much. He said they both could have a strong open gallop sometime next week.
McLaughlin runners ran one-two in the Barbara Fritchie last year, with Dancing House beating Clothes Fall Off. The Interborough was the first start for Clothes Fall Off since her eighth-place finish in the Grade 1 Madison at Keeneland last April.
Indulgent, the younger half-sister to Frosted who won a second-level allowance race at Aqueduct on Jan. 26, is being pointed to the Correction Stakes here on March 18, Lee said.
McLaughlin is also planning to run both Classy Class and Ocean Knight in the Grade 3, $250,000 General George at Laurel on Feb. 18.
