McGee: Late pick four play at Saratoga for Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019

Saratoga Sunday Pick 4, races 8-11
The chips are all-in on Frank’s Rockette in the Adirondack following her sensational maiden victory late in the Churchill Downs spring meet. I’ve worked up a late pick four singling her. Here’s the breakdown:

Race 8: I’ll tiptoe around the Chad Brown morning-line favorite, Chiclet’s Dream (8), who’s had just one race (a sprint) in 10 months, while starting this ticket with “the other Chad,” Rumor Driven (10), and the four inside runners – Moyne Spun (1), Way Smart (2), Star of the East (3), and Noble Jewel (4).

Race 9: Obviously the Belmont Derby is the key race toward the second leg in this 3-year-old turf series, and I’ll go against the 20-1 winner that day, Henley’s Joy (1), banking mostly on him not getting such a perfect trip this time around. Instead, I’ll take my chances with Social Paranoia (2), Digital Age (8), Seismic Wave (9), and the first-time Lasix invader, Mohawk (10).

Race 10: The eye-catching debut by Frank’s Rockette (2) followed a slate of Churchill works that led her to being unusually low odds for a Bill Mott first-timer. She validated that confidence when jogging home a 5-2 favorite. Since then, she’s trained right along at Saratoga.

Race 11: Hoping to be alive for some nice payoffs when scatter-shotting the wide-open Sunday finale with Ownitifyouwantit (2), Malthael (3), Standup (8), and the uncoupled Chad pair of Doswell (10) and Good Governance (11).
