McGaughey, Tattersalls rep, dead
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Linda Ann Conley McGaughey, longtime North American representative for the English-based Tattersalls sales company, died last Friday in Lexington. She was 59 and had been treated for an undisclosed illness since last fall.
McGaughey was a well-known figure in the international Thoroughbred sales world and had represented Tattersalls since the mid-1980's, working primarily to assist consignors and help bring American-bred horses to market at Tattersalls auctions.
McGaughey was a member of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association and the Thoroughbred Club of America, as well as a volunteer for the Shoemaker Foundation.
McGaughey's survivors include her husband, Neal McGaughey; stepsons David, Daniel, and Tim McGaughey; stepdaughter Angela Johnson; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be held Tuesday and 10 a.m. at W. R. Milward Mortuary in Lexington.
