FRANKLIN, Ky. – Trainer Al Stall Jr. has sent Masqueparade to Camden, S.C., for several months of rest after the colt finished a well-beaten sixth in the Aug. 28 Travers at Saratoga. The son of Upstart won the Ohio Derby in June. “He had seven races in a little more than eight months and I just felt like he needed a little break,” said Stall, who this week will be regrouping the bulk of his stable back to Churchill Downs in Louisville, where the stable area was scheduled to reopen Wednesday following a nine-week reconstruction of the turf course. “We’ll get him back in New Orleans sometime in December, I’d guess.” Meanwhile, Stall is pointing Carribean Caper to the Sept. 25 Dogwood going seven furlongs at Churchill. The 3-year-old Speightstown filly remained unbeaten in four career starts in winning the Aug. 15 Audubon Oaks at Ellis Park. :: Get DRF's free 2021 Kentucky Downs Player's Guide
