Maryland farm moves its stallions

The Maryland Stallion Station will relocate its stallions to two other Maryland farms for the 2009 breeding season, the Glyndon farm announced in a release Friday.

Four of Maryland Stallion Station's eight stallions will stand at Bonita Farm in Darlington and the other four will stand at Shamrock Farm in Woodbine.

"Given the current climate in the industry and the general economy, we felt that the most practical business decision was to reduce our operating overhead and team up with top-notch operations to preserve the upside we believe exists with our stallion roster for breeders and our investors," said Don Litz, president of Maryland Stallion Station.

Bonita Farm will stand Outflanker and the freshman sires Fantasticat, Gators N Bears, and St Averil. Shamrock Farm will stand Rock Slide, Seeking Daylight, Cherokee's Boy, and Greek Sun.
