Marbre Rose wins Polytrack debut in Seaway

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Marbre Rose, a New York invader trained by Christophe Clement, made her Polytrack debut a winning one Saturday at Woodbine with a thrilling score in the Grade 3 Seaway Stakes.
Marbre Rose raced in fifth until the head of the stretch in the seven-furlong sprint, as Endless Light set moderate fractions while being pressed by Skylander Girl. Alan Garcia guided Marbre Rose between horses in the No. 2 path for the stretch run, and she closed strongly to catch Endless Love on the wire, winning by a long nose in 1:22.32.
“My filly was always going comfortable,” said Garcia. “The last two times, she had a good kick at the end, and I was only looking for room turning for home.”
Marbre Rose ($8.60) made each of her 12 previous starts on turf. She earned $90,000 of the $150,900 purse for Haras de Saint Pair and Monceaux Stable.
Cactus Kris rallied wide from last to finish third. She was followed by Arlington shipper Pirate’s Trove, the favored Hillaby, who raced wide throughout, and a fading Skylander Girl.
